I always like having plenty of redundancy and this service provides it. All of my Workspace data which is invaluable to me is seamlessly and automatically backed up. This provides peace of mind should anything ever happen where something happened to my Google data. I have over 15years of really indispensable records and documents. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** Datto purchased Backupify in 2014 and I was a customer prior to that, so I am a Legacy customer. The Login process for Legacy customers and getting to settings is harder than it should be and not necessarily intuitive. I have been prompted to make billing updates in the last couple of months and found it tedious to access the area I need to enter. Update now Backupify is owned by Kaseya, and even more challenges with simple things like upgrading credit card information, which can not be done online. I would enjoy seeing BtoC customers treated a little better. It would seem to me that making more features self-service features would lower costs **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** If all of my data disappeared from my Workspace account it would have a very significant and detrimental effect. There are documents, records, letters, emails, and other data that are saved there that I do not otherwise have copies of. That is a little concerning so Backupify provides me a redundant system to make sure that all of my Workspace data is never lost and I have solid retrievable backups. It is also automated so no cumbersome process to follow. ### 4. It was simple to install as an admin for the entire org but you do have to have at least one user that is a member on a shared drive so it can be backed up! Identifying accounts that are no longer active or backups of is a pain. I wish we could chose what to do with accounts that are no longer in our active system. I don't need them backed up for ever. 120 day retention would be ideal. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** We need backups of our O365 info in a different location than Microsoft. If MS has problems restoring thing then Backupify is where we go. Also the data is stored longer. ### 10. I've already used it several times to recover a backup from an employee that had left and cleared out some of the documents they were supposed to have left behind. I have not had a chance to try it on the Microsoft 365 side yet, but it works like a champ for the Google issues we have had. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** We don't use Microsoft 365 much at this time, but we do utilize both G-Suite and M-365 and expressed our wish to be able to back up both. My thinking is let me purchase one, and give me the other for free since we don't have much to backup over there. It would definitely make the product that much more valuable to use if we had both. I'd also like to see all of our backups in one pane of glass, which is currently not supported. **Recommendations to others considering Backupify:** Definitely take a look at the product, but make sure you are ok with some shortcomings in customer support. They will get back to you, but there is definitely a difference from one day to the next. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** We really need to back everything up, G-Mail, Google Classrooms, Drive etc. Sometimes teachers and students can get ticked off and delete things that they shouldn't. This is a great tool to get that back, even if it was just human error. ### 12. It's bulky and doesn't retain all the info from prior backups that are still showing in 1.0. After the initial installation and sync, the backups were pretty much in constant sync. Our clients never really had to deal with anything. They did not need to manually start anything, check anything, or do anything differently. They liked being able to rely on us to monitor everything on the back end. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** I last used this software in the Spring of 2021. At the time, we were NOT able to deploy to multiple computers easily. My agents needed to connect to each computer, run the installer, and then link the computer using a code that the online platform would create. If we were installing this on-site, then the agent sometimes needed to log in to their own agent account on the customer's computer. Which I did not like because you can never trust other people's computers, especially when it's a new client relationship. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Clients that needed to migrate their data to the cloud needed extra peace of mind that their files were still going to be there the next day. I had a few that were very wary of migrating to the cloud because they felt they were at the mercy of a singular platform. Datto Backupify provided redundancy for them, so they knew their files would be protected by a secondary source. ### 18. It allows us to retain data for years, which is exactly what our org needs. We're able to both export and restore from our users' drives and that makes for easy data recovery. We have had quite a few broken links in our org and we're able to use the search feature to find the data we need. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** We had an issue where our shared drives would stop backing up because only group aliases were managers of the drive. We then learned we needed to have at least one named user/service account as a drive manager so that the connection could be re-made. This is something we didn't know up front, so we had a gap in a month or two of snapshots. The search leaves something to be desired. It seems to go by "contains", while also assuming that each keyword is separate. While that's hard to explain in text - if you're searching for "Employee Super Handbook", you'd get all things that had the words "Employee" ,"Super" and "Handbook", but even if you know the file name is "Employee Super Handbook", it won't pop up as the first data line item and you will have to sort by "Name" to get to the file you need. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Whenever we need to audit files in a user's drive, we can search through Backupify to see if the file existed in a previous snapshot. This is perfect because even if a user deletes the data at some point, we're able to recover it as long as we know the point in time that it existed within our org. ### 19. Anyone including non-technical users can log in and in minutes be backing up Office365 accounts. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** Some of the restore features are difficult to implement and if you're attempting to restore more than a few GB of data the software can fail. Basically, the basic backup and restore are simple and easy to use. But once you get to advanced scenarios like restoring dozens of GB of data or thousands of files you run into issues. **Recommendations to others considering Backupify:** I would recommend Datto Backupify to other organizations that leverage Office365, as their backup fills a critical need to ensure your organization doesn't lose critical data. Unless you're going to go with an add-on to your current backup platform this can be a quick win. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Prior to Datto, we were limited to the typical restore deleted files and then restore from the trash bin. However, if you didn't realize a file or set of files was missing in the first 30 days it became impossible to restore. Now with Datto, we can backup and restore in minutes files that users accidentally delete. ### 21. With other Backup solutions, it fell to the administrator to find files a user needs to restore. With Backupify, they can each log in and access their own files. This cuts down on Help Desk tickets. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** I don't have a dislike for the product. It is a solid backup platform that has never needed a service call. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main benefit is that there are no Help Desk calls from users who know how to access Backupify. We show it to them when they are given their computer as a new hire. When they accidently delete files, they are able to get them back with ease. ### 31. Most things are pretty well laid out. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** Some of the navigation of the site seems to not work the best or at least the way that I would expect it to, so it takes more clicks/steps to get things done. **Recommendations to others considering Backupify:** Easy to set up and get started and seems to be very reliable. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Keep Backups of staff's Google Drives and create archives when staff leaves. We have been able to recover all documents that were accidentally deleted by users. I also like that there's no troubleshooting for me to do - it's a 100% cloud to cloud and managed solution, so if anything breaks they figure it out. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** It's missing some features that would be really helpful: more admin roles, backup for Teams data, backup for Flow and Forms, and backup for Groups. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** We didn't have any backup for our Office 365 environment, which we're extremely reliant on. With Backupify, we'll be able to restore from accidental or intentional deletion of data, as well as ransomware attacks. ### 35. We can always rely on it to work the way it is meant to with little required on our part. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** There's not a whole lot to not like, honestly. The restore might be a little "awkward" because we are a G-suite shop and its not like restoring a pst or ost, but overall its a solid platform. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are ensuring business continuity by backing up our G-Suite and Salesforce instances, two of our core applications. On top of all of the obvious backup features, Backupify can also be used as an excellent discovery and project hand-off tool. There are times in which a manager leaves the company, but their project is on-going. Backupify allows us to transfer all correspondence and files to a new assigned manager with ease. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** The web-app can be slow at times. DattoDrive provides a much more "enterprise" class model for sharing files and folders than other cloud based file sync services (in particular Dropbox). Files and folders can be password protected. Access can be set to expire after a certain number of days. It allows us to keep all of our critical data in Drive without the need for a backup server. We can set which accounts are backed up and which aren't very easily. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** The queuing for restore can take a long time, although Datto has told us they can work with us to speed up critical retrievals. Bulk account adds and changes are beholden to what Google themselves allow, so bulk adds and changes generally have to be done with .csv's emailed to their support, which so far has worked for us. **Recommendations to others considering Backupify:** Be aware that Google Apps for Education has unlimited file storage. We tried to go with a limited data plan with Datto, and went way over within 6 months. Their Unlimited user/Unlimited storage plan is more expensive, but perfect for us because Google at this point in time does not have settable drive quotas. Also be aware that Datto by default wants to back up every account in every OU. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are backing up all of our critical data, including e-mail, without the use of physical backup servers or network storage devices. ### 48.
