For me, the defining feature of this software is the ability to specify where I can store my backups, and to navigate them easily. The “stock” file history is pretty bad for stepping back through versions, but Backup Xplorer makes this much easier. It’s also cool that it works for files outside of the list of folders supported by File History (Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, and Desktop folders). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Backup options at the document level save space by avoiding extra backups of files that don't need it. The UI is clear and easy to follow – even for the more complex backup routines. The only thing I'd like to see is a feature that automatically asks if you want to apply a backup template when creating a new document. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is BackUp Xplorer solving and how is that benefiting you? I am a writer using Publisher for the working copy of a new novel. BackUp Xplorer has been an invaluable tool. Having the automatic backups in several places (including my OneDrive and Google Drive locations) has made power outages and dropped connections a non-issue no matter where I’m working from, or on what device. Recommendations to others considering BackUp Xplorer: If you've ever lost some valuable edits or saved over something that you wished that you hadn't, and you value your time and what it takes to redo a document, then it seems like this a no brainer and the cost is more than worth it. Our teams work exclusively remote and we share a lot of documents with a several people, and we've always struggled with coming back to earlier edits that we just liked better.
