You can forget about servers, networking, load balancers, upgrades, patching, cluster configurations, and database tuning. You manage your data and functions, and Back4App takes care of the rest. Their backend has fantastic performance and availability. We have been using them for 10 years without any single problem. In addition to hosting data in tables, we use cloud functions, triggers, batch jobs, and indexes. Highly recommended! Tip: you can ask them to connect a sink to your Papertrail account for much more detailed logging without additional charges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Renaming collections or columns can lead to disruptions if your mobile app is directly sending queries to them. To navigate this challenge, consider implementing a cloud functions layer that acts as views (similar to stored procedures in older databases). By utilizing these functions and calling them instead of sending direct queries, you gain greater flexibility to make changes in your data model without affecting users who may still be on an older version of your mobile app. This approach allows for smoother transitions and easier management of changes over time. To be completly honest with you, there aren't things I dislike about their product. They made it simple from the beginning but in same time complex enough to offer users all the features they need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
