Coming from Cloud Service, it is a lot easier to configure and setup a web app. We've realized that by moving our applications to a Web app, we deliver a lot of projects earlier. We are also able to setup pipelines a lot easier. We do not have to worry about the framework installed. Azure Application Insights nicely integrates with WebApps and is a very useful tool to diagnose application errors and performance issues. WebApps come in different pricing models that suites various business requirements. AutoScale feature makes it easy to scale the application according to CPU or Memory usage. Azure WebApps also supports docker containers on which you can host both linux and windows containers. WebApps supports multiple programming languages. for eg: NET Core, Java,Python. Azure DevOps has got inbuilt steps for Deployments to Azure WebApps making it easy for automation. WebApps also have a deployment API which supports zip package deployment. MSDeploy is another deployment option. WebApps supports integration with Azure KeyVault making it an easy and secure way to store secret values. Within few clicks you can setup your app service to host an application. You don’t need any server guy and a server anymore. The azure app service is very flexibel and can host many different applications. I mainly uses .net apllications to host a website with a single page application. Ofcourse you can use the calculator but still you need to just start with using and use a certain plan in order to find out what the actual costs are. And sometimes the app has a cold start and it takes a few seconda when the app service respons.
