**What do you like best about Azure SQL Database?**

Help a lot using the Database, because it manages the design and the architecture with the cloud of Microsoft Azure, the integration can be automaticallty this help a lot and saves money and time implementing the database to production.

**What do you dislike about Azure SQL Database?**

Well, the maintenance has to be improved because it can remove backups if you do it automatically, so the best is to do it manually and do it yourself, so that way the database will be safe.
Also you can not run this data if you do not have Azure first, and you do not paid the cloud, it will be impossible to use SQL.

**What problems is Azure SQL Database solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The combination of Azure functions and applied to SQL, this can save you a lot of time because it can run automation, and you do not need to worry about the server maintance the Database stays online even if the server fails.

  ### 2. High availability modern solution with dynamic scalability and built-in security

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Divyansh T. | Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Azure SQL Database?**

The best thing about Azure SQL DB is its reliability and dynamic scalability. It promises no downtime for databases, so users don't need to worry about maintenance or potential outages. Its resilient architecture and high-performance database engine contribute to a dependable experience. It's easy to implement and integrate with variety of the business applications having multiple tech stacks support.

**What do you dislike about Azure SQL Database?**

There are still some features that have not yet been developed, such as limited server agent functionality, and the absence of database mirroring or clustering. It also lacks certain traditional SQL features. Additionally, Windows Authentication is not supported, so you have to rely on Entra ID (with Azure AD). For legacy applications built on proprietary .NET code, support is significantly reduced, and in some cases, almost nonexistent.

**What problems is Azure SQL Database solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Azure SQL DB provides a fully managed platform, eliminating the need to worry about the underlying infrastructure. Transitioning from an on-premises SQL-based database to Azure SQL DB has saved my organisation significant time and effort. Its built-in high availability features, along with disaster recovery options, play a crucial role in ensuring our business remains operational. This allows us to focus more on managing client data rather than spending resources on database management.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yogesh K. | Principal Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure SQL Database?**

Among all prominent cloud service providers like AWS, GCP and Azure, when it comes to integrating with the SAP ecosystem, Azure seems to be the front-runner! It's Azure Data Factory based framework to integrate with SAP ECC and SAP S/4; SAP BW/4HANA is among the most seamless integration available.

**What do you dislike about Azure SQL Database?**

While Microsoft Azure provides the best data integration options with SAP ECC, SAP S/4, and SAP BW/4HANA in the Cloud ecosystem, there is still a scope to make it more robust and full-proof considering the SAP backend data is not always straightforward, and you need to understand it before you can play with it. So not exactly a dislike but an area where it can excel further.

**What problems is Azure SQL Database solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Following key challenges that Microsoft Azure addresses for most of our clients -

1. Seamless and easy data integration option when it comes to moving SAP data into the cloud
2. Vendor collaboration between two product groups that is SAP and Microsoft
3. Easy integration with other Microsoft Azure services for data and analytics needs, including ML and AI based scenarios
