**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Azure Pipelines?**

Azure Pipelines can build, test, and deploy applications for various platforms, such as Windows, macOS, and Linux. It can be easily integrated with other Azure services, such as Azure Container Registry and Azure Kubernetes Service for containerised applications, and Azure Test Plans for testing. Azure Pipelines supports continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), allowing for automated building, testing, and deployment of code changes. Azure pipelines are highly scalable and can handle large build, test and deployment workloads.

**What do you dislike about Azure Pipelines?**

While Azure Pipelines is free for open-source projects and offers a free tier for small teams, its paid plans can be costly for large groups and organisations. Azure Pipelines can be integrated with other Azure services but may have fewer integration options with external tools than other CI/CD tools. Azure Pipelines has a web-based interface that provides visibility into build and test processes, but I find it less detailed and comprehensive than other CI/CD tools.

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we were using it, it was a convenient way to develop and test our .NET Framework applications. We also deployed these applications to Windows machines, and the integration made it very convenient. The user interface for designing the CI/CD pipelines was a convenient way to get up and running. We could quality-check our code and ensure that no unnecessary bugs made their way into production, and we could orchestrate our deployments to our VMs on GCP. The results were also easily obtainable in GitHub and Slack. PS. I was unable to enter our website, it would not accept it.

  ### 35. Azure pipelines, from an average user's perspective.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure Pipelines?**

I am what might be called an average user, who is sometimes tasked with managing Azure pipelines for my product. I think, for the most part, Azure pipelines are easy to set up and configure. My main experience has been just clicking around to modify existing pipelines, creating a new pipeline based on a model, adding triggers to pipelines, and manually running them. I think I can navigate most day-to-day tasks pretty easily.

**What do you dislike about Azure Pipelines?**

I think like some of the more advanced features like retention policies are harder to grasp just by clicking around the interface, so I always feel like I am having issues with them.

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Azure pipelines to automatically trigger builds of our product whenever a change is submitted to specific branches. The result of those builds is then easily available to our QA team for validation.

  ### 36. Very helpful automation testing app for non coders

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devyani S. | Customer Relations Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure Pipelines?**

I have been using it for 6 months but I felt it's easy to understand and is very much known to me. I can easily test Android & IOS apps with proper automated test cases and also share them with my teammates.
I Loved their automated UI interactions work on any mobile device for user testing purposes.

**What do you dislike about Azure Pipelines?**

One of the issues is in their user interface, it's easy but looks very cluttered if you add more test cases on the dashboard. I think they should make it look beautiful. Even if it doesn't need you to learn coding to develop the app and test it but it still needs me to write test scripts which I needed to learn.

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Calabash helped me and my team to speed up user testing by applying behavioral test cases easily. This ultimately increases our productivity.
Before using calabash we need to analyze reports manually that take lots of time to predict results for an app's success but with this tool, it becomes quite easy to predict the success rate of any android or ios app.

  ### 37. Easy to use native and web apps automation test tool for Android developers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nitin S. | Freelance Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure Pipelines?**

I have been using it for 6 months but I loved the simplicity of deployment, easy learning curve and lightweight tool for testing my native and web application developed in android or ios.
Also, their UI is so straightforward that my new team member has already worked as a pro to generate testing reports.

**What do you dislike about Azure Pipelines?**

I understand that they just started making iterations and updations but still, it lags in speed. Sometimes I need to manually put test cases to error reports as it misses automated tasks. In case of UX testing, I found that it needs to improve test tools for android apps especially.

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Me and my team using feature-rich automation tools but it makes my team members get confused as their triggers are a little complicated to deploy or implement. This made our reports look a little scattered. We need a simple, easy to use solution that can generate reports with ease and to the point with our entered test cases.

  ### 38. Wonderful, Quick UI Testing Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pritam Y. | Solution Developer - Android, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure Pipelines?**

Calabash has definitely helped me for testing which can be used to create and run automated tests for your mobile apps including Android and iOS.
Likely from their their testing best UI, automation, first user postive experience. It provides a set of libraries and APIs which are helpful in enabling the test code for interacting with the native apps such as gesture and screenshots

**What do you dislike about Azure Pipelines?**

For Android we need to install the .apk file for iOS we have to create your new target call
Else it just supports ruby need to learn that as well
Need to fix universal platform integration issues

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Pipelines:**

Definitely a worthy testing software mush try

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A good quick and easy testing automation environment platform for UI testing and application testing
Testing is the most crucial stage before going live for applications.

  ### 39. Visual Studio from MicroSoft

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prashant R. | Senior Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure Pipelines?**

All the Products in the visual studio were awesome, out of the box NuGet Packages manager plays an important role to install other extensions or plugins in running a project.

**What do you dislike about Azure Pipelines?**

There are no items available to dislike in the visual studio, in another way only the SDK is very heavy for the system in the development of mobile apps or games.

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the older version of Visual studio IIS and process management (thread) is a little confusing. But in new versions of Visual Studio, it's very lite to understand how the process goes to execute calls on the IIS local server.

  ### 40. Simple and Dead Easy to Learn

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ravikiran Reddy C. | Associate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure Pipelines?**

Search functionality which will gives you the list of all required tasks based on our search. It's highly recommend because with out use of any other tools we can easily setup our CICD Process very easily even it's on Prem deployment or cloud. Coolest thing is Microsoft Hosted Agents when we quick off a build, it just appears and perform the task once done it will disappear. How cool is that which we can save some bucks.

**What do you dislike about Azure Pipelines?**

Intigration with non-microsoft could be difficult. Documentation is not upto date. For complex projects/deployments we might need simplicity from Azure. So it might be difficult to develop complex solutions.

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pretty simple as per user interface and easy to start with pipeline just search and add your required task either to build pipeline or release pipeline which will allow us to basic syntax and also cool documentation of all the tasks with better and simple language.

Team collaborations, sprint execution, tasks allocations, burndown and tracking progress is good to have. Calls at the same time is +

**What do you like best about Azure Pipelines?**

As per development the visual Studio code give us a best Features and technology. We like to write codes in visual Studio. Some extension are good in Visual studio

**What do you dislike about Azure Pipelines?**

Some time it's take much more time to compie code and some time it's easy to run the code to need to fix that.

  ### 44. Great service to keep track of your work history and decision making

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aayush S. | Frontend Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure Pipelines?**

It's easy to manage your work history in the form of cards which you can refer to, later on, to find which series of events lead to a decision. It also helps in maintaining the team's tasks to make sure that any member is neither overworked nor are they needlessly waiting to be assigned tasks.

**What do you dislike about Azure Pipelines?**

While trying to maintain the tasks hierarchy, the tasks may end up being too deep. While containing many useful features, It isn't much beginner-friendly. Making the features more intuitive will help make it more beginner-friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Pipelines:**

While it is powerful enough to solve nearly every project management-related problem you might be facing, it isn't much beginner-friendly so you might have to dedicate some time to get familiar with it.

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it to manage our tasks list and assign tasks to fellow co-workers and maintain the decision-making process behind any feature/bugfix. It helps us in avoiding redundant tasks and prevents the scenario of re-requesting a feature which was previously added and then removed as we have the history for that particular feature.

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure for banking apps that needs hing end security.

  ### 48. Fully Fledged Professional IDE

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Azure Pipelines?**

Visual Studio has been one of the most robust Integrated Development Environments that have a lot of built-in features. My favorites about Visual Studio are one-click deployment to Azure App Services, Inbuilt GIT flow management, Support to multiple technologies such as .NET, NodeJS, C++, etc. Also, the ability to have solutions to manage multiple .NET projects is more convenient. At the same time, it has the ability to visualize the project structures in a more effective way.

**What do you dislike about Azure Pipelines?**

I would not complain about Visual Studio when it comes to its features and reliability. But only one concern about Visual Studio is the high memory and CPU usage than the other similar tools. But nothing to complain about the overall experience.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Pipelines:**

I would recommend Visual Studio for the matured software development teams which handle the heavyweight of development and deployment. The investment would definitely be worth it if that's the case. But if you are a startup or a fresh development team Visual Studio won't be adding much value there. Anyhow the value it brings going forward will be beneficial. Therefore, it's a good idea to go for it.

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a developer who mostly works with .NET technologies, I always use Visual Studio to build and test my projects. Because the outcome is very impressive compares to the other .NET IDEs in the market. For example, I have the inbuilt NuGet package manager, direct integration with Azure app services, Database Services, and other cloud services makes my life easier at work to manage the entire development and deployment lifecycle.

  ### 49. Gems of Developer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nazli P. | Senior Technical Equities Innovation lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Azure Pipelines?**

We have teams in different locations and Visual studio team services are one key to connect all. We can check-in, Shelvin, review our code in one place. Surreiesgly excellent IDE for coding in various languages like C#, VB, C++ etc.
They have plenty of plugins and extensions avaiable.
You can track the changes , you can compare the changes with old versions. You can even get the old version of code.

**What do you dislike about Azure Pipelines?**

You need specific versions for some kinds of stuff, like ineliitrace is not available in all versions. You have to install that particular version to use it.
While connecting with the database, it freezes, this is a sporadic issue I saw, but it's frustrating and time-consuming to watch not responding screen.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Pipelines:**

If you are a C# or any Microsoft full-stack developer Visual studio team is a must item for you. Very convenient to track the changes maintain different versions.
You can get the old version of the code. You can also compare the changes very quickly.
I like the fact that you can see who has used the files and made changes.

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use visual studio teams' services for multiple purposes, not only for coding the application but also for freezing the changes. Review the code of other developers. We are creating a single repository.
We compare the codes with older version to see if all ok. To track bugs we use the compare tool.

**What problems is Azure Pipelines solving and how is that benefiting you?**

East to test it out different screen sizes of the UI. Increased consistency of output and reduce labor costs and expenses and even Improved quality or increased predictability of quality
