What I like best about Azure Managed Applications is the fully managed, standardized deployment experience they provide. They allow complex solutions to be delivered in a controlled, consistent way without requiring deep operational management on our side. I appreciate how updates, patches, and maintenance are handled by the publisher, ensuring the application stays secure and up to date with minimal effort from our team. The clear separation between what we can configure and what the provider manages creates a dependable environment that reduces risk and simplifies governance. Additionally, the integration with Azure Marketplace makes deployment fast, predictable, and easily repeatable across environments. What do you dislike about Azure Managed Applications? The main drawback of Azure Managed Applications is the limited level of control and customization available to the customer. Because the solution is fully managed by the publisher, certain configurations and permissions are locked down, which can make it difficult to adjust the environment to specific internal requirements. At times, this restricted access can slow down troubleshooting or limit flexibility when trying to tailor the solution to unique use cases. Additionally, the dependency on the publisher for updates and maintenance means that release schedules or fixes are not always fully within our control. Documentation around some advanced scenarios could also be more detailed to simplify onboarding.
