**Reviewed by:** Ravi J. | Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure IoT Hub?**

The best thing about IoT hub is it's edge compatibility with the servers. And the way it runs and orchestrates it's iot edge modules using docker, which I found more easy to access than greenhouse's lambda.

**What do you dislike about Azure IoT Hub?**

The security of device and the documentation regarding onboarding a whole IoT devices fleet is very less available. It can also try to provide support for arm devices in IoT edge.

**What problems is Azure IoT Hub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were solving the problems like, organizing the IoT edge modules which were running Machine learning models on the edge server itself. We also used azure devops for mlops. And yeah IoT hub provided this orchestration layer to work upon.

  ### 4. One of the top IoT services available!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sumit Y. | Software Engineer 2, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure IoT Hub?**

After initially using it, the walkthroughs. Although I've just used it for a school assignment for my final design, it was incredibly useful. Additionally, it is a tremendous benefit to view everything in one area.

**What do you dislike about Azure IoT Hub?**

It is a rather expensive service. A lesser price has to be charged. Additionally, the existing training materials are difficult to grasp and exceedingly complicated.

**What problems is Azure IoT Hub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a central repository that could store data in real-time to carry out the IoT-based POCs. As a result, we used the Azure IOT Hub to keep the messages sent every second by the two Console devices that we constructed using C# code. It is an incredibly quick, secure, and safe back-end solution. Throughout the whole POC implementation, we achieved the best performance.

  ### 14. IoT Hub is an Absolutely Integral Part of Our Cloud Architecture

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Azure IoT Hub?**

IoT Hub gives our development teams power, flexibility, and versatility for our industrial remote monitoring web applications. This particular Cloud Resource in the Azure family of services is a central piece of the foundation of our application architecture. IoT Hub gives us abilities that our team has dreamed about for many years before Microsoft released this particular cloud resource. Data harmonization is key to the success of any data-intensive web application. The needs become even more pronounced when consuming huge volumes of time-series sensor data values from 100s of industrial assets. IoT Hub allows us to handle this type of data from diverse sources, machines, edge devices, and customers.

**What do you dislike about Azure IoT Hub?**

IoT Hub is an Azure Cloud Resource that needs to be integrated with your existing web application architecture. It's powerful but requires some careful planning to realize some of the benefits described above. There's honestly not anything significant on the "dislike" list. Just overcoming a learning curve. Documentation is a little bit light but...that's in the context of Microsoft. E.g. anything from Microsoft, while MS's documentation may itself be light, the community of enterprise professionals consuming and flexing the muscles of these tools is strong. Anything you can't find in MS documentation is probably described in a blog post or StockOverflow article or Reddit thread!

**Recommendations to others considering Azure IoT Hub:**

Definitely make sure that you implement Azure IoT Hub thoughtfully in your solution architecture. There's a learning curve to getting IoT Hub to do what you want. And that's a subjective opinion based on application context and skill level but I find it to be generally true.

**What problems is Azure IoT Hub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem we're solving with Azure IoT Hub is being able to create easy multitenancy in our web app architecture. We can consume data from many diverse data sources and send it wherever we want as long as there's a configured endpoint to consume it. We're also using IoT Hub as a bridge to send data from one part of a customer's environment to business intelligence endpoints in a customer's network. It provides a perfect bridge between two hard-to-connect data sources.

  ### 15. I found Azure IoT hub a very powerful tool for enterprise IoT tool.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aayush J. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Azure IoT Hub?**

I really liked how the IoT Azure Hub can be thrown with millions of packets and it can easily sort the data into logical groups so that various services can use it based on urgency levels.

**What do you dislike about Azure IoT Hub?**

It is still very costly to use for small/medium businesses and only big enterprises can afford it.

**What problems is Azure IoT Hub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to develop an IoT Cloud platform for all the IoT home appliances to sync their data onto the cloud. It saved a lot of time on cloud platform development phase when built on top of MS Azure IoT Hub. It also made testing very easy.

  ### 16. Small Snapshot on Azure Internet Of Things.
