## Azure Database for PostgreSQL Reviews
  ### 1. Reliable and low-maintenance PostgreSQL for growing engineering teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Azure Database for PostgreSQL?**

As a software engineer at a medium-sized company, I primarily use Azure Database for PostgreSQL to power the backend of our customer-facing web applications and internal microservices. We recently migrated from a self-managed database setup on virtual machines to Azure's Flexible Server to reduce our infrastructure maintenance. We handle a moderate to high volume of transactional data daily, and we rely on this service to ensure our database is highly available, secure, and seamlessly integrated with our existing application hosting environments, like Azure App Service. What I appreciate most about Azure Database for PostgreSQL is how much operational headache it removes from our day-to-day work. The automated backups and built-in, zone-redundant high availability are massive lifesavers, allowing our development team to focus on writing application code rather than babysitting database servers. Scaling up compute resources during our peak traffic seasons is incredibly straightforward and usually only involves a quick portal adjustment. I also really value the native integration with Microsoft Entra ID for authentication, which makes managing database access for our engineering team much cleaner and more secure than handling individual, scattered database credentials.

**What do you dislike about Azure Database for PostgreSQL?**

The biggest frustration I have with the platform is its rigid storage scaling. Once you provision and increase your storage capacity, you cannot scale it back down. This can lead to permanently higher costs if you only needed temporary extra space for a large data migration or a one-off batch process. Additionally, I have noticed that out-of-the-box connection management can be a bit resource-heavy. If your application opens a lot of idle connections, it can quickly eat into your CPU and performance, meaning you almost certainly have to set up something like PgBouncer for connection pooling to keep things stable under load.

**What problems is Azure Database for PostgreSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most significant problem this service solved for us was the immense time drain of database administration. In our old self-managed environment, configuring replication, patching the OS, and ensuring our backups were reliable took away valuable engineering hours. With Azure Database for PostgreSQL, that is all handled automatically. A real-life example happened just last month when a buggy deployment script accidentally dropped a critical table containing user settings. Thanks to the automated Point-in-Time Restore (PITR) feature, we were able to spin up a recovered instance to the exact minute before the script ran, salvage the deleted records, and patch them back into production with minimal downtime. That feature alone justified the cost of the managed service for our entire year.

  ### 2. Azure Is A Powerful Tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Azure Database for PostgreSQL?**

Microsoft Azure PostgreSQL gives users the freedom to build, manage, and deploy applications easily and with very little or no investment. I like the ability to choose between Word press and other popular for launching websites.

**What do you dislike about Azure Database for PostgreSQL?**

It's kind of hard if you don't have any previous experience coding and stuff. I got to the part where I tried to upload my free SSL certificate to my website, and I couldn't get it figured out even with a really good tutorial online.

**What problems is Azure Database for PostgreSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm not really sure I solving any business problems with it. I mainly just use it for personal. I've got 2 websites on the Azure platform, And I ran out of free space Commerce or haven't been in there in I while but there is tons of Apps and software if your website builder to play with common in they give you a pretty generous amount of space, In a fully customizeable dashboard, which is fun.

  ### 3. Reliable and easy to use service.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Azure Database for PostgreSQL?**

I have used many other similar services but Azure keep advanced options while keeping a simple flow to use it. The monitoring tools that you can add to the platform are also very well thought through and help to sport issues very fast.

**What do you dislike about Azure Database for PostgreSQL?**

They could add a Database access like PgMyAdmin. But this it not a major issue as you can easily collect with other tools. I am guessing it keeps the over security higher as well.

**What problems is Azure Database for PostgreSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a web agency that is making a platform for a client that insisted on us using Azure. Would not normally use it due to the higher price but glad I got the chance as you can see the positive side to why it more expensive.

  ### 4. One of the best Database product in the market-Azure Database for

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Azure Database for PostgreSQL?**

The best thing about this product is they keep upgrading with amazing add-ons at no increase in price as its very cost effective. The contract negotiations are also fairly flexible and its can be identified as a company who shows interest in a strategic partnership. Product performance is amazing.

**What do you dislike about Azure Database for PostgreSQL?**

The only thing to dislike about this product as per me is Volatility of roadmap; found that while we're getting great features added regularly, there's still some unpredictability to the toolset as MSFT innovates the product offering also the technical support can be enhanced and can be more on time.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Database for PostgreSQL:**

From inception, the provisioning and scale up of the analytic system has been well supported with key features coming out regularly and rapidly being integrated in our solution. Moreover, Its good if your organization is up for Cost management with Creating internal/operational efficiencies and wants to
Drive innovation and generate revenue growth eventually.

**What problems is Azure Database for PostgreSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benefits we got weer the add on in features at no hike in price, a fair price, good deal in terms of contract negotiation with a great performance and breadth of services. We highly recommend the product to other organizations because of ease of setup and management, lower operational and consumption costs, better security and disaster recovery capabilities. Azure SQL provides practically unlimited scale with a starting price point of five dollars per month.
