It helps to orchestrate different jobs through pipeline creation.
Also, various environments can be connected easily through ADF, and the no code environment makes it easier.

**What do you dislike about Azure Data Factory?**

Azure Data Factory doesnt allow you to send customized mails based on the failed activity. If any activity of a pipeline fails, it will send a mail that the pipeline has failed, but doesnt mention which activity has failed.

**What problems is Azure Data Factory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its helps us to schedule jobs based on a specific time or event based. It also helps to orchestrate various activities and thus removies the manual dependency a lot.

  ### 2. Azure Data factory : one of the best ETL tools

**What do you like best about Azure Data Factory?**

The best part about the azure data factory is the UI, where one can design complex ETL pipelines without writing single line of code and can simply achieve it by drag-n-drop different activities.
Also the updates of feature improvement and new activities are also very frequent, which eventually increses the craze between users for this service.

**What do you dislike about Azure Data Factory?**

There are some limitatons in ADF like you cannot perform nested control statements directly.
Apart from that in mapping data flows for upsert, one need to select both upsert and insert together.
Also, for very complex transformations ADF mapping data flows are not very much suggested .

These are some drawbacks that i am able to list down as per my experience.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Data Factory:**

Must look at dyanmic side of ADF Pipelines as it's a very amazing thing that can be done from ADF.

**What problems is Azure Data Factory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about Azure Data Factory?**

The best thing about the Azure data factory is that it has a wide range of connectors for many on-premise servers and cloud servers.
It has many clusters compute services like HDInsight, Databricks so we can just use them for bulk data processing without knowing about the cluster.
It provides all the components that need for data orchestration and to automate it.
It can also allow us to run the SSIS packages so that ETL process can be done easily.

**What do you dislike about Azure Data Factory?**

It should allow us to code up to some extent and change the compute service clusters so that we can further optimize our pipeline.
It uses external compute services such as HDInsight, DataBricks by using these we cant estimate the cost until the completion of the pipeline.

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure Data Factory?**

Azure Data Factory is a microsoft product that provides the ability to create data pipelines for the migration of data and transforming them. The data flow defines the stages of data movement. Individual components are defined in user friendly format. The pipelines are created by assembling these individual components and linking them in the required format. After the completion of end to end component assembly, the activities could be individually tested and validated. As a final step these pipelines could be automated for scheduled executions.

**What do you dislike about Azure Data Factory?**

The Azure Data Factory interface is not an easy one to be understood by beginners. The number of activities, components, dataset definitions etc are many that requires good understanding. Parameters, variables and settings when configured cannot be wrong. The definitions of all the lists should be complete and accurate.

**What do you like best about Azure Data Factory?**

Companies nowadays get a lot of information from different sources; the amazing thing is that all this new information that we are getting brings a ton of value. But How we can move and centralize these raw data and even how we can trigger the extraction of data mine. Data factory is the answer of that, Microsoft has done an excellent service implementation with this great tool. The main thing that need to know is the concept of data pipelines.
In an data pipeline you will be able to add different kind of activities as for example connect from your on premise SFTP and move CSV files to storage accounts. As well data factory has its own data flow if you are an ETL developer experimented maybe you have worked with SSIS, thus, you will start quickly with this new feature of data factory.

**What do you like best about Azure Data Factory?**

It is mainly used to retrieve bulk data from various systems and integrate with different systems. Like the idea of using having pipelines and triggers. we use various types of triggers like blob and schedule triggers to make the pipeline run at predefined times

**What do you dislike about Azure Data Factory?**

The thing which we don't like about is the error description is not very descriptive and the way to run manually is not very useful. after debugging the information is not stored anywhere.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Data Factory:**

This is very useful when we have bulk data with various formats

**What problems is Azure Data Factory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we work on integration platform where we connect to various types of end systems to collect data. Datafactory is very useful in terms of retrieving bulk data of any format and convert to end system format.

  ### 36. Data integration in the cloud

Managed the cloud and on-premeise data efficiently. Added more security in linked services to interact with azure data lake stores. Increased the data scalabilty and moved on cloud. Summarized the data at daily and weekly level in an efficient way.

  ### 37. Best Solution For Database Management System

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Azure Data Factory?**

Everything is pretty much straightforward, given that you have some database knowledge. The DBMS allows you to easily create several things entirely in design (tables, views, etc) - which is a big plus when you don't know the entire syntax. Mainly, the ability to extract the precise data is the best part for me.
THe reasons made me use this product were :
Create internal/operational efficiencies
Drive revenue growth
Enhance decision making
Improve business process agility
Improve business process outcomes

**What do you dislike about Azure Data Factory?**

Scalability is great but not the best like other new databases there in the market. CPU memory consumption is always more than normal on production. Difficult to setup permissions and roles. On that point i want to suggest that SQL server has always fulfilled the new requirements and has great features to utilize. This will always exceed your expectation for sure. If your environment is window and you want a full secure fast native database SQL server is the product you are looking for.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure Data Factory:**

SQL Server is a robust, well-established relational database manager, it's relatively easy to set up a new database server and connectivity between clients.

**What problems is Azure Data Factory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall an excellent tool for data gathering and visualization. Excellent support and other new databases large user community. What I like the most is its IDE to do everything in design view, the creation of customized views, stored procedures I think that is its strength today we can also have SQL server in Linux distributions. Compatibility with enterprise software that needs DB integration, this environment allows us to integrate (locally or cloud) all our solutions on the main server with cluster functionality.

**What do you like best about Azure Data Factory?**

Data factory has been a great tool move data from the data lake through SQL into PowerBI. The best part is the ability to create and automate pipelines with preloading scripts

**What do you dislike about Azure Data Factory?**

It is not very intuitive. When I first started using df there was a lot to learn and figure out. Once you get the hang of it though there is a lot of opportunity

**What problems is Azure Data Factory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used data factory to solve the issue of receiving data from our vendor, processing it, then pushing it to an analytics tool like PowerBI. With the Azure service we were able to have our client load the data to data lake and data factory took care of the rest from processing the data to pushing it to where we needed it without lifting a finger
