What do you like best about Azure Data Catalog?

The product is good for what it is for. I think it is really helpful in managing a business. The cloud service is convenient and easy to use. It had simple process that were very easy to implement even with those who were not very technologically inclined. It was a very easy to use software and I really like the organization and folder options that Azure had in the cloud. It kept everything neat and ready to access. What do you dislike about Azure Data Catalog?

I think it was pretty buggy for the software. it did not offer a lot of extras and I think it could do more. The cloud service could take a long time to upload sometimes and it made work take longer then it should. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Azure Data Catalog:

Its a great software. If you need something for organization in your company give it a try. It offers a ton of space in the cloud with a very reasonable price. I think any company who needs either more space or security could give Azure data catalog a shot. It is inexpensive and works pretty well. What problems is Azure Data Catalog solving and how is that benefiting you?

It allows us to solve organization problems we were having. We try to keep files in a cloud so many can have access to them in our company. This cloud did that for us. We use it to upload personal information that we have of students. This allows all staff who would need access to easily get it. It also keeps student information off of the computers. This is a good protection because if a computer is damaged the Azure cloud still has all the information safe and protected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Azure Services"

What do you like best about Azure Data Catalog?

Whats great about Azure is its ecosystem. Microsoft Azure integrates seamlessly with existing Microsoft Infrastructure and cloud services. This is a big plus for the enterprises since a lot of big enterprises are still testing the waters with the move to cloud and are trying a hybrid approach for now in which they have some systems on premise and some on cloud. There are some advantages with Azure over AWS like moving storage on the fly and a existing massive online community to to support the Microsoft product line. Azure has a huge powershell repository which helps with automation.

The Azure Stack(WAP replacement) is also coming which will allow companies to get full features of Azure but in an on premise environment. Great move by Microsoft to gain traction for the cloud in the enterprise environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Azure Data Catalog?

As with any cloud platform there are few limitations but Microsoft is listening to feedback and fixing them. The new preview portal is sluggish but it is covering a lot of gaps Microsoft had in the old portal.

Another factor is the cost of the Azure services compared to AWS. This could be a show stopper for some organisations but the value offered by Azure is better than AWS in the long term. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Azure Data Catalog:

Azure is great suite of Services offered by Microsoft which is evolving at a great pace. The cost will come down as the time passes. Its a great product for enterprises who are looking to DR solutions, and hosting their servers on the cloud or have a solid Microsoft on premise ecosystem and would like to integrate additional automation and self service(Azure Stack) capabilities in their environment. What problems is Azure Data Catalog solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main driver for the Microsoft Azure is its integration with MS environment like Office365 and on premise DR scenarios. I have done projects for Azure AD integration with onpremise and Office365. SSO capabilities. Self Service Password Resets and integration with existing System Center Products and drive automation in the enterprises.
