The interface is intuitive, has library of widgets that can be dragged and dropped onto the canvas and can create highly complex interactions for web and mobile interactions. Its collaboration and version control could be better and has room for improvement. Designers cannot collaborate on the same file in real time with a view of each other in the file. As a UX designer Axure RP helps with the research mapping to persona creation to user flows to wireframing to prototyping aspects of the role. Its quite a comprehensive set of deliverables one would be able to produce as a UX designer. Also testing is easy as Axure produces HTML prototypes that are browser ready at different screen sizes. Axure RP is a good software for creating UX prototypes. It has many drag and drop features which makes the software easy to use for UX designers. It has good documentation in their website. There are not many tools available for drawing customized shapes and curves, most of it is drag and drop. I dont know how to make shapes which are not predefined. I cannot say enough good things about it. I often create prototypes for accounting problems, and it is incredibly important that our testing participants are able to actually type into the prototype and see it react. Axure is invaluable for creating these prototypes. No other prototyping tool that I have used adds interactive text entry fields in seconds. For more complex prototypes, you can add logic, including calculations, pushing/pulling widgets, and changing text in other places on the prototype. That's an awesome tool for desktop UI prototyping, where you mostly concentrate on workflows and gradual disclosure of data rather than on micro-interactions. Axure provides the most in depth feature set for any prototyping tool that I have ever used as an UX designer. You can use real data, store values and use real scripting language to make your prototype impressively high fidelity. I once needed to create a prototype that enabled me to control a smart lightning bulb in real time and Axure made me able to do this using webhooks, impressive stuff! The performance also isn't the best, it crashed on me multiple times when having a lot of pages open in my document. Also I really miss integrated support for SVG's files. There's no option to set artboards by device like on other softwares which makes wireframing extremely hit or miss, learning how to do interactions is a pain and you mostly have to figure it out by failure.
