Working with external partners is key to our product initiatives, and we need to exchange data securely without giving them access to our critical systems. Amazon S3 is central to our research data, so we avoid managing separate storage stacks for data exchange. AWS Transfer for SFTP is perfect for this need. With AWS SFTP, we can securely exchange data that resides in our Amazon S3 bucket while easily managing external users. Recently, a new project required rapid setup, and we had no on-premises storage or SFTP infrastructure to handle the volume. We set up our SFTP endpoint, attached it to our S3 bucket, provisioned users, and were operational within an hour. This speed and flexibility are not possible with traditional on-premises solutions.
