It'll improve the performance of the services. It sometimes faces connectivity issues and rule creation issues. Interacting with device shadows is a great abstraction for devices that are frequently disconnected. The fact that you can set requested state and you can also receive reported state from the device is a great idea. I also like thing groups and the ability to send jobs to individual groups. This is exremely useful when you have a fleet of devices with different hardware implementations. This allows us to push firmware updates to just specific device types. **What do you dislike about AWS IoT?** Job executions are expensive. We have a lot of test devices that will never receive the jobs, but we still pay 3 cents for each one. It be better if it was charged if the job got past queued. The other thing is that jobs seem to never go away, even for single device jobs in which the device reports it completed the job successfully. **Recommendations to others considering AWS IoT:** Provisioning lots of devices is not the easiest, so create an automated system for that. **What problems is AWS IoT solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are provisioning and updating cameras and sensors. We are receiving sensor readings and camera images. ### 4. Facilitating the communication of devices with the cloud. And so you can control whatever you want from anywhere. Avoiding time spent on travel and solving things for the client from home. It's annoying to be called at untimely hours or days, but even more so to have to travel to the place to get a solution. **What do you dislike about AWS IoT?** I don't dislike anything. The only thing I would say is that I haven't had any hacking problems, but since it's cloud-based, they must be very attentive and constantly updating their protection of my data in the cloud. Although I believe the company knows this and they are very attentive to it. **Recommendations to others considering AWS IoT:** It is implemented with IoT, which is appreciated for its ease of use. At first, it's hard to get familiar with, but in no time you can't live without it. I am a new user and the interface is not complicated at all. I feel like I can do my job well with it and it can handle all of my work that I need to submit. **What do you dislike about AWS IoT?** So far, I don't have many complaints with it. I think I can't judge it accurately because of how new of a user I am, but I wouldn't change anything quite yet. **Recommendations to others considering AWS IoT:** Definitely worth the investment (financially and time investment). Get to know this software and use as much of it as you can in your workplace to continue to grow your knowledge. It is very easy to learn from, so you will not struggle with this. I do recommend this, and will claim that it is a great resource for whatever business you are apart of. It can also be used with laboratory and industrial instruments that can support the protocols this is what I love about it. You would typically connect your single-board computer locally to sensors and actuators that read from or act on the physical “thing” being monitored or controlled. It has changed everything we do as a company. **What do you dislike about AWS IoT?** There is nothing I dislike. Every feature it has is amazing. It is not missing anything. **Recommendations to others considering AWS IoT:** Make sure you take the training otherwise you will be lost. **What problems is AWS IoT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our vineyard manager collects data on soil moisture, and now he can enrich it with weather data to determine how much to water our crops. Therefore you will still need some sort of onsite solution for instances where internet goes down - though this is unlikely when it comes to enterprise due to redundant connections, etc. **Recommendations to others considering AWS IoT:** Great product, can be a bit costly but overall can't beat the services offered. **What problems is AWS IoT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently the company I work for does not use AWS IoT but the company I was previously at used it to manage thousands of devices across hundreds of businesses. It’s easy to learn. The trading in capital expenses and not needing to guess capacity before implementation is a great feature. The ability to use a mobile device and computer is great as well. **What do you dislike about AWS IoT?** Some of the timeframes to implement are longer than usual in my experience.
