Earlier Moving terabytes and petabytes of data into the cloud can be challenge for many businesses but new feature of aws called AWS snowball made it so much easier , It's the fastest way to transfer Huge amount of data to cloud , it's transfer protocol is very reliable and secure to use , as it provides data very fast we can also used it for real time analysis for our IOT solutions and it's also very easy to integrate , here all data are encrypted end to end it's very easy to use with snowball appliances(it's the ship able physical storage device) , this device takes care about all the logistics for you to sort of simplify that process of getting your data shipped between two destinations and it has it's own label too.. !! Two thumbs up!" 5/5 What do you like best about AWS Import/Export Snowball? Our company recently used Snowball to help a client transfer a massive amount of data from one location to another and also to the cloud. We had not used snowball before and didn't realize there was an actual device that would be shipped but it was like Christmas when it arrived. Our team was able to help the client transfer their data in hours -- something that would have taken weeks or months if we had take another approach or used a different device. Snowball makes it easy and quick to transfer huge data stores. I can easily track transfers into and out of the cloud by date and client without latency issues. Some of the tutorial info is bloated and unnecessary. It would be nice to use some of the tools meant for new users without having to sit through each and every step that is written for newcomers to cloud management. I have also talked to users that are multi lingual, and they have said that some of the instructions do not translate very well. I have clients with thousands of files that must be managed, and Snowball makes it easy to move and securely store petabytes at a time. I have not once had a single issue with security, and the dashboard for various AWS services makes it easy for me to track what is being moved. I remember using an older cloud service that would, every once in a while, drop a file or get interrupted. This would cause loss of important data, or else it would cause a file to get corrupted and not able to be retrieved. AWS Snowball makes my life much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Snowball Edge gives an edge to organizations that are looking to empower data center solutions. Many companies worry about data transfers when transitioning to the cloud. After all, moving that data back to the infrastructure can be an expensive and time-consuming process. You can use it to transport large data sets to the cloud or use it as a stand-alone tool to store data at a remote location. You don't have to change the application logic, just redirect storage to this device. Multiple devices can form a cluster for increased durability. Using Amazon Lambda, you can store and process data for analytical purposes. Data is not processed locally, so organizations can cut down on storage infrastructure.
