The user interface is simple to use and navigate, making tasks straightforward. I utilize AWS Glue frequently, and it continuously satisfies my needs for data management. At first, especially if you are unfamiliar with cloud services, it might be a little difficult to understand the pricing. Monitoring usage is essential to preventing unforeseen expenses. Finding, cleaning, and transforming data are all automated, which makes the process much quicker and simpler. This efficiency is very helpful because it frees up my time so that I can concentrate more on analysis and less on the specifics of data management. Most importantly glue automatically generates script for my ETL job. Extraction of data from data source , transformation and loading to data target has become ease with glue. I have used crawlers in glue to determine schema automatically from the s3 bucket which is my data source and writes meta data to database in data catalog . Using visual ETL I have transformed the schema from data catalog and pushed to target with ease in seconds. While creating ETL job we can select source and target and transform the data using many options provided to make the data clean and noise free. We are getting the data from the sftp server in the raw format. Previously we are using other tools for ETL process. Now as we transitioned to Glue ETL process becomes very easy as we extract the data an transform the data in glue itself and creates the glue catalog. AWS Glue is a pretty cool tool for handling data integration and ETL tasks. It’s like having a handy assistant that takes care of all the technical stuff, so you don’t have to worry about managing the behind-the-scenes infrastructure. It even keeps your data organized with its Data Catalog, which is like a digital filing cabinet for your data. One of the neat things about Glue is that it can automatically write some of the code for you. That means you don’t have to be a coding wizard to make it work. Plus, it’s really flexible and can handle different workloads without breaking the bank because it scales up or down as needed. Now, while AWS Glue is pretty handy, it’s not without its quirks. One thing to keep in mind is the cost. If you are not careful, it can sneak up on you, especially if you are dealing with a ton of data. So,budgeting and monitoring your usage are crucial.
