AWS Codebuild **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023 **What do you like best about AWS CodeBuild?** Codebuild have different steps customization that can be reordered or minimized for during deployment **What do you dislike about AWS CodeBuild?** AWS Codebuild requires OS to be selected and recently with nodejs 14 linux old OS was not supported and required alot of modification before build execution to update required libraries to run before nodejs 14. **What problems is AWS CodeBuild solving and how is that benefiting you?** AWS CodeBuild solved to deploy changes via command tools that were provided in build.xml A proper command execution at a specific step is the best feature. Benefitted to deploy AWS services through CodeBuild ### 2. Not having to stand up a server for builds is awesome. **What do you dislike about AWS CodeBuild?** Complicated build tasks are harder to get right and start correctly. Also, the documentation pieces feel fragmented; steps are separate from what is allowed in each step, and the overall experience feels poor. **What problems is AWS CodeBuild solving and how is that benefiting you?** I primarily use CodeBuild as a way to lint and validate CloudFormation templates before running them through. Being able to write a CodePipeline containing CodeBuild running CloudFormation without standing up any server has significantly saved time on maintenance and "unneccessary" work. ### 3.
