Versatile Who Did what Insights of Cloud Activities **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Avineet A. | Senior Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2020 **What do you like best about AWS CloudTrail?** This logs chronological events and activities performed on the cloud for using the services like EC2, RDS etc. Ease of creating charts and graphs for analysis and setting up alerts and alarms. **What do you dislike about AWS CloudTrail?** Didn't like the limited set of charts as well as the cost associated with it can be more rationalised compared to Azure, GCP. **Recommendations to others considering AWS CloudTrail:** AWS CloudTrail should be used as soon as any service is commissioned on the AWS Cloud infrastructure to be able to monitor the activities and be in control on the impact and triage of issues pertaining to that. In depth RCA can be performed if this is enabled. Alarms should be setup for efficient use of the features provided by AWS. Archive Logs to S3 on an ongoing basis. **What problems is AWS CloudTrail solving and how is that benefiting you?** CloudTrail can be applied to all regions and services running within and monitor all type of activities. Gives better control and offers a single point of administration. Well managed security and ease of archival into S3 is very well received and utilized in the organisation on an ongoing basis. Learning curve is pretty quikc with plethora of documentation available on Amazon's official support pages. ### 2. I can't think of working on AWS cloud without using CloudTail.
