"Easy Configuration and Reliable"
4.5/5
What do you like best about AWS Cloud9?

AWS Cloud9 is a powerful and versatile cloud-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that makes coding, collaborating, and deploying applications seamless. One of its standout features is that it runs entirely in the browser, eliminating the need for local setup or complex environment configuration. Within minutes, you can start writing code in a fully functional environment that supports multiple programming languages, including JavaScript, Python, PHP, and more. What do you dislike about AWS Cloud9?

1. Always needs an internet connection

• Since it’s fully cloud-based, you can’t work offline. Any network drop interrupts your workflow.

2. Slight latency compared to local IDEs

• Even on a good connection, there’s sometimes a small delay when typing or switching files—especially noticeable in large projects.

3. Limited customization compared to VS Code

• While you can tweak themes and keybindings, it doesn’t have the same vast ecosystem of extensions that local IDEs like VS Code or JetBrains offer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Cloud9?

If you've already used local IDEs like VS code, then the features available in Cloud9 feels somewhat limited. Since it runs on the cloud, so running and debugging the code will always need a very good internet connection. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Comprehensive Evaluation of AWS Cloud9: Balancing Efficiency and Challenges"
5/5
What do you like best about AWS Cloud9?

Let me start by saying Cloud9 has been my go-to IDE for AWS projects since 2021, and overall, it’s been a game-changer. The best thing about Cloud9 is that it needs zero setup for pre-configured environments. It integrates with AWS services very easily and provides the best integration support across Lambda, EC2, and other AWS Ecosystems. It is beneficial for real-time team collaborations. It could be easily implemented while working with a larger code base. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Cloud9?

I have used it for almost 4 years. Have faced browser issues while working with Cloud9. Browser lags a lot while working with large projects. I had to re-open it multiple times to get the work done. No offline mode or caching mode for traveling scenarios or spotty internet issues. Connecting and getting your query addressed with customer support is sometimes challenging.
