AWS Cloudformation removes the hastle of provisionining aws resources manually, with a good knowledge about json/yamls one can acheive that comfortably. 2. Integration between the services is easy 3.State managements is something that can be handled using cloudformation, as all the resources metadata/state is stored in an s3 bucket. 4. As cloudformation constantly has the record/state of the resources in place, few actions like stack deletion or stack updation gets tricky (Eg: If a stack is in rollback\_failed state, cloudformation sometimes does not allow to update/delete the stack, if the resources under the same stack are not handled properly). As we all know CloudFormation is a native service of AWS and a very powerful Infrastructure as a Code(IAC). CloudFormation enables you to deploy resources quickly and consistently, removing manual steps prone to errors. It can simplify the provisioning and management of a large number of AWS resources, and it supports almost all AWS services. As an infra engineer, my major concern in the event of failure is how it is healing. AWS CloudFormation can automatically roll back to the last known good state, which can help avoid resource inconsistencies. Updates to your stack are also managed in a controlled, predictable manner. Templates can be parameterized, which allows for reusing them across different environments, leading to more consistent and maintainable infrastructure deployments. Writing CloudFormation templates can be cumbersome due to the verbose and sometimes complex YAML or JSON syntax, which can be prone to errors also identifying errors in templates can be time-consuming, as errors are often only identified upon stack deployment, which can be frustrating. There are some of the services that are used by my product need more attention while creating when it comes to passing the right environment variables for the services is a major concern. With the IAC, I can articulate all my env's in a code and I don't need to get frustrated in the run time. What problems is AWS CloudFormation solving and how is that benefiting you? Operating the cloud from the console can be a hectic job. CloudFormation makes it easy for you to deploy and maintain your cloud infrastructure. It is free; the only cost you pay is for the underlying resources. You can simply write the resources you want to create without worrying about the sequencing; CloudFormation will figure it out for you. CloudFormation is a capable way to model your infrastructure as code. It has good quality-of-life features like a GUI builder, protected resources, and stack nesting. Unfortunately, CloudFormation can only manage AWS resources. If you work for a software development company, it's very unlikely that all of your needs can be met by AWS. Will your team give up GitHub? Jira? PagerDuty? If you're going to manage (say) your S3 buckets using Infrastructure As Code, you should probably also manage your version control system in the same way.
