## About AwardSpring
AwardSpring is scholarship management software that helps colleges, universities, and nonprofit foundations collect applications, review applicants, award funds, and report results back to the donors who fund them. The company is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, and more than 600 organizations use AwardSpring to administer their scholarship programs. The leadership team comes from higher education, and the support team's average first response time is 16 minutes. The platform covers the full awarding cycle. Administrators build online applications with conditional questions and document uploads, assign reviewers automatically, score submissions against their own rubrics, and award funds without moving data between spreadsheets. Applicants complete one general application and are matched to the awards they qualify for, rather than applying to each one separately. Administrators work from a dashboard showing the state of the current cycle and a follow-up queue that tracks open items with applicants, such as missing transcripts or unsigned documents. Reviewers score from their own portal without needing administrator access. AwardSpring also includes donor management for advancement and foundation teams, so donor records, gifts, funds, and contact history sit in the same system as the scholarship data. Core capabilities include: - Custom online applications with conditional logic, document collection, and automatic matching of applicants to the awards they are eligible for - Reviewer workflows with automated assignment, configurable scorecards, and rubric-based scoring - Awarding, disbursement tracking, and reporting across every fund in a cycle, with exports for finance and institutional research - A single donor record holding gifts, funds, and contact history, with fund-level impact reporting - Student thank-you collection with consent management, plus a public-facing donor site The problem AwardSpring addresses is fragmentation. At most institutions the scholarship process runs on paper, spreadsheets, and email, and it is often split across financial aid, advancement, and the foundation office, each holding part of the record. That makes awarding slow, makes fairness hard to demonstrate, and makes donor reporting a manual reconstruction. Keeping applications, reviews, awards, funds, and donors in one system reduces the staff hours a cycle requires, gives reviewers a consistent basis for decisions, and makes it possible to tell a donor what their specific fund accomplished without exporting from two systems and reconciling them by hand. Typical users include two-year community, junior, and technical colleges; four-year colleges and universities; community, education, and other nonprofit foundations; and corporations and professional associations that administer scholarship or grant programs. Program sizes range from a handful of annual awards to several thousand across hundreds of funds. AwardSpring is cloud-based, with integrations and API access for student information systems, and implementation is handled by AwardSpring staff.
