EASY. FAST. Avalara makes it easy to monitor, track, calculate, and charge the correct sales tax for every municipality and county that you can imagine. **What do you dislike about Avalara?** Honestly, the only frustrating thing is that we NEED Avalara! it would be so much simpler if the various municiipal structures didn't have to leverage their own tax rates and it was a simple flat tax across all boundaries. Alas, the need for Avalara is great. **Recommendations to others considering Avalara:** Just consider the costs of NOT using Avalara --- get your employees revved up to monitor every taxable entity in the state, make sure you cross check all rates for any changes, update those rates in your systems, and then deploy them instantly. Oh -- and then be ready to do it again in 30 days. UGH. **What problems is Avalara solving and how is that benefiting you?** By leveraging Avalara, we don't have to monitor 88 counties and hundreds of municipal zones every month. There are no new changes that we have to log, and no overlapping territories that we have to anticipate. We've saved countless man-hours by not having to police the tax rate structures (confirming old and updating new) just to be "compliant" on tax codes. **Official Response from Celina Romera:** > Hi Steve, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I really don't have much else to say **What do you dislike about Avalara?** The upgrades on Cert Capture. I really dislike not being able to index - add another state to an existing certificate. We have the re-upload the certificate. I didn't like that they considered certificates expired after 3 years and I wasn't made aware of this. Some times its' difficult to get through to customer service due to the numerous prompts or wait time. **Recommendations to others considering Avalara:** I have recommended Avlara to a total of 5 people two did sign up. **What problems is Avalara solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have nexus in over 20 states and drop ship to end users, the tax application or tax waiver has been very beneficial for us. ### 5. The pricing can be a bit high if you allow to them to do the sales tax returns on your behalf. **Recommendations to others considering Avalara:** Works great with Netsuite **What problems is Avalara solving and how is that benefiting you?** We do business in almost 50 states and staying on top of the tax laws/rates can be quite burdensome. With Avatax, the worries are no longer there. ### 8. We have the benefit of cleaner sales tax audits - and there will be audits!! ### 10. UI was fairly good and intuitive. The product itself is great for taking the sales tax burden of calculation and filing off your hands. **What do you dislike about Avalara?** Sales tax in general, but the product is great. **Recommendations to others considering Avalara:** Once your sales tax requirements reach a certain level of complexity this is a great product to make sales tax a non-issue and handle them effectively and efficiently. ## Avalara Discussions -
