Other vendors require multiple add-ons to get the same functionality. **What do you dislike about Auvik?** I would like to do more reporting from within Auvik. For extended reporting, you will need to use Microsoft Power BI. Also, setting up alerts is very easy. Auvik's approach to this is great. Auvik is constantly scanning your approved networks for new devices and will add them to your maps. I now have real-time network maps at my fingertips. ### 12. Need to highlight the simplicity of its GUI and it has all the information about your network in a more compact way. The dynamic map feature is a life savior for a network admin which helps to visualize the entire network in a single view. Map can be configured to update every 10 min and even the alarms can be seen in the map itself on the relevant interfaces or devices. Under device view, all the information is available including the running os version, recommended os version, end-of-support dates etc. Advanced features such as configuration backup, configuration comparison, and Netflow traffic analysis are all inbuilt with Auvik whereas in other RMM vendors, these are add-on modules that you need to purchase additionally. Also, the license structure of Auvik is so simple and the license is based on a total number of network devices categorized into switches, routers, firewalls, and on-premise Wireless controllers. Every other device such as IP phones and access points would not be counted for licenses. **What do you dislike about Auvik?** There is nothing to dislike on Auvik. But the offering is on the cloud only as of today. Better check for on-premise option as well in case of there are customers who are not willing to adopt cloud offering. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** First Auvik can be used to discover your network and then you will have a complete understanding of your network topology with full inventory details. Normally this process is a time-consuming manual task. But Auvik helps to discover the entire network and map that into a graphical view in a matter of minutes. ### 14. The hardest part is gathering all the information to manage every device. Also, understanding fees was not that easy. Not understanding them and how to manage them caused unnecessary charges. The incorrect identification of hardware also caused unnecessary costs that had to be refunded to me after each billing period. It took Auvik a year to fix this issue. The web interface is easy to navigate, and the installation is easy to perform. You don't need a specific appliance, you can install a program and make any laptop or PC on the network into a reporting device in less than 5 minutes. The system reports on managed or unmanaged switches, workstations, and printers. **What do you dislike about Auvik?** I wish they had a phone app. Sometimes it is a pain to have to dig through all of my daily work emails to see if I have received anything from them. If there was an app on my phone that popped up a message whenever something happened, this program would be PERFECT. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** In the past I have lost 2 devices due to AC unit malfunctions in the server room, and I have had multiple times where servers went down on the weekend and no one reported it to me until days later and I had to rush to fix things late at night or very early in the am. I would love to see a mobile app that could assist on the go as we are mobile a lot in our industry. Digging though to decide what you want to get an alert on or not can be cumbersome but that being said i would still rather have more to choose from than just a few. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having the ability to know when there are issues with switches, firewalls or other networking equipment is always something that is needed. Other monitoring software i have used does not seem to do a great job or the alerts seem to not be quick enough. Network mapping and monitoring have lots of options, but Auvik make it too easy to set up it was unreal. I installed the collector, then ran through the steps on the web portal. All I had to do was provide the community strings for the SNMP, it did the rest. **What do you dislike about Auvik?** Windows and Linux only. No collector for Mac OS. Some shops/Studios use Mac OS, like me. I wound up running my Collector on a Virt Windows machine. But Mac OS should be supported. **Recommendations to others considering Auvik:** If you are looking for a network monitoring tool with low overhead, and a super easy setup, then this is it! It is very easy to add the sites to Auvik and once the sites are added, Auvik does wonders in showing a complete view of the existing network infrastructure. It would be easy to search for a device or switch or a router in the GUI and the web UI is faster and responsive. Their support team are very knowledgeable and helpful in clarifying the queries, I had a specific scenario in configuring the notification channel and their support team was of great assistance whenever needed. We have Auvik integrated with PSA ticketing system, two way handshake works really well wrt ticket creation and closure.Their network discovery capabilities are very impressive, its a real deal to get all of network infrastructure of a client under a single umbrella. Overall I would say they are the competitive and best out there in the industry. **What do you dislike about Auvik?** Auvik's UI can be a little more intuitive, IMO they have a redundant section such as Manage Alerts(which holds Alerts, Notification channels and Maintenance window section). Currently, they appear in both overall site location and in each site, understanding the configuration of how it would work wrt sites is a bit challenging. Alerting section looks to be confusing when there are multiple alerts for a shorter window, its hard to track down in UI whether a particular alert has resolved or not. Currently they page you for a cleared alert as well, if that can be shut off that would be well and good, would be a bit less noisier. **Recommendations to others considering Auvik:** If you're looking for the best Network infrastructure monitoring tool, go for Auvik as they offer a lot and are best in the industry. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** It makes us aware of what's on our client network and has the dynamic visual mapping of an entire network. We are using its alerting and monitoring capabilities to understand our client networks.It has helped with reducing the troubleshooting window to address an issue. ### 46. It is easy to use and easy to manage. **What do you dislike about Auvik?** It requires installing a service on Windows machines; you have to manually kill the process and stop the service to stop sending network statistics online -- it would be better if we can have a tray icon to control the auvik service easily. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** Controlling multiple network devices is not an easy thing for company IT: you need to know each device's UI / command interface to control the device or get statistics, and it's hard to put all the devices' status into a single dashboard to monitor if a device is down or if there is abnormal network bandwidth. With Auvik you can simply use one dashboard and one control interface to control everything on your network remotely. ### 49.
