It gives you an instant view of your entire landscape and is easy to navigate and see the status of your infrastructure at a glance **What do you dislike about Auvik?** I was slightly disappointed with the Linux installation script, which failed without useful debugging information. I resorted to installing the windows collector but would have preferred to have the collector running in an easily managed LXC container. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** Auvik allows me to see the status of my organisation's infrastructure at a glance and alerts me of problems before I'm even aware of them ### 4. We have also just implemented better security to our accounts as logins. ### 5. If we were a single network then it would not be so bad but as an MSP, setting up multiple networks is a task. It would also be nice to be able to use an external collector to scan an internal network through a firewall. Something like a collector for Fortigate or PFSense would be cool, or the ability to install a collector on a Raspberry PI. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to connect to Cisco switches through Auvik has been invaluable. I don't have to be on the internal network to do this: I can do it from my local web browser. It has also been very valuable to be able to see on a map what connects where. ### 6. Once you populate your required fields (authentication method, subnets, etc,) Auvik will map out your network and show you an interactive map, realtime! **What do you dislike about Auvik?** The pricing structure for Auvik is a bit steep for small businesses and smaller government entities, such as schools or smaller townships. Discounts are seen only if you have a higher number of devices, so smaller entities will with smaller numbers of devices get less of a discount. **Recommendations to others considering Auvik:** Add as many authentication methods as possible (username/password combinations, port types, etc.) This will help populate your network at a much more detailed level. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Auvik, we can see insights into our network like never before. We instantly know when our devices' bandwidths are being stretched too thin, down to the switchport. It's also helped us track equipment based on MAC addresses much quicker and visually. With its powerful alert system, we can see granular activity that other systems in the past have not been able to alert on. ### 7. Any device shown in Auvik has limited information unless manually inputted. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** Auvik's reports are becoming better and better. I use these monthly for contract audits and have noticed that the information presented is easily understood and sorted. ### 9. Our organization uses another more established product, so it doesn't make sense to switch to something else. Our support teams have been using the competitor's product for years so they're already familiar with it, and it's much more capable. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** Auvik isn't solving any problems for my organization, so we're not really seeing the benefit. We are able to set up multiple devices quickly and start seeing the network shortly after. It is easy to click on devices, set credentials as needed, and start monitoring. **What do you dislike about Auvik?** The documentation needs some improvement on how to set up different integrations or configure devices to work properly with the service. The monitoring and logs for traffic were very valuable as well as the network map it creates. I also like that you were able to inventory your services agreements and warranties on your network equipment. **What do you dislike about Auvik?** The navigation was a little confusing at times and often found myself lost trying to get back to a screen I had been to before. Maybe group the areas in the menu better by segmenting the sections between equipment maps, equipment inventory, and traffic logs. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** Able to find bottlenecks in my network. Implementation was easy once we figured it out but I recommend doing reading their documentation so you dont have to do it more than once **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** network monitoring and alerting, reporting for vCIO duties/cyber insurance; makes reporting for clients so much quicker and allows us to pull all the data we need from one place. ### 30. Our team loves the ability to quickly troubleshoot an issue by seeing how device A is connected to device B within the network and the ability to connect to the devices right from the Auvik portal page without the need to establish a remote connection to a server or client, then connect to the device, etc. **What do you dislike about Auvik?** Currently do not have any dislikes regarding the product - been using it for 6 months at this point. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** * Monitoring networks - getting alerts based on defined metrics into our ticketing system * Troubleshooting networks/devices - Efficiency gained by quickly accessing the devices and troubleshooting the issue * Additional MRR by utilizing the tool at our clients. ### 33. Auvik bridges the gap with our RMM solution to better monitor our network. **What do you dislike about Auvik?** Auvik can be a little chatty during the network discovery process, and we have seen it cause high bandwidth utilization. This is a rare occurrence though. If your network discovery settings are correctly configured it will work fine. **Recommendations to others considering Auvik:** Auvik is a simple to use Network Management tool. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to easily backup configurations of network switches and firewalls. What's not to love? It saves me hours of work weekly. **What do you dislike about Auvik?** The user picker is miserable. As we add clients who are able to access this awesome software, it becomes *exponentially* more difficult to ensure that we aren't cross-contaminating accounts between clients, which would/could be disastrous. Please fix this soon. **Recommendations to others considering Auvik:** If you don't currently have automated switch, firewall, and router config backups, you NEED Auvik, right now. **What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can now easily find VLAN port configuration issues, routing issues, topology problems, and even firmware issues with certain switches. (We identified a bug in an SNMP implementation on a certain version of Ruckus switch firmware using Auvik) The insight into our customer LANs and WANs has never been better. ### 41.
