The remote desktop capabilities are way better compared to your standard desktop manager. You have more flexibility for example if an end user has multiple monitors you can easily switch monitors with the click of buttons. The support that I'm able to provide to end users has been a huge improvement to performance and the speed that I can close tickets. I like that it seamlessly integrates into our domain. The pricing is very competitive for what you get. Customer services has also been a huge help especially when we were onboarded, if we have any questions the AI is also a huge help in order to provide any assistance that we may need without further escalations in customer support. We have found that the software interferes with some of our programs for example our "Deep Freeze" program we had to search in depth through the settings in order for our computers not get stuck in a endless loop, before that we didn't know that it was automox that was making these act this way. The UI/UX is both simple but at the same time since automox provides multiple fields of information it can make things a little harder to look at , at first glance. The biggest reason why we got Automox was for it's extensive remote desktop capabilities, which has far exceeded our expectations. The biggest help is when an end user is working remotely and not on the domain we can still be able to remote into their work stations and help them out as if they were on campus. The best thing about Automox is its ability to eliminate security blind spots with zero infrastructure. It is an impeccable tool for the current hybrid environment: it updates servers and laptops wherever they are. But its true value lies in the response speed: real-time visibility of endpoints, automatic deployment of patches for third-party applications, and the flexibility of its scripts (Worklets) allow security gaps to be closed in hours instead of weeks, completely relieving the workload of the IT team. Although the tool is excellent for automation, I believe the area where Automox could improve is in the depth and customization of the native reports. Sometimes, when you need to present very detailed or executive reports to management about the compliance status, the visual options fall a bit short and you have to export data. I like the simplicity of the product when it comes to patching platforms like Windows Linux and MacOS. so there is just one agent and you get centralized portal where you can create policies and perform your BAU or Business As Usual tasks. But I think apart from patching as well I have used their Worklet concept t which with in itself is interesting operational model which can be used to perform specific tasks. I don't like the concept of not handling Zero day vulnerabilities properly because they do not have specific plans also when you go and talk to Automox person around supply chain attack or patches coming from vendor they might not be of full help. We all know the very basic work which is being used by almost every organization working with Automox is patching their endpoints which helps to improve the compliance and governance . We also use Automox to update our internal software's like Zoom, Teams, Cisco, webex etc. we also use reporting feature of Automox as well and shares the report with the higher management. Apart from that its capabilties which are remarkable applying patches , upates or any changes in the system or endpoint configuration are few of the ease to use feature which makes our life easier as an IT admin. See we have been using Automox for more than 5 years now and we have seen Automox evolving from few of its drawbacks like reporting, AI capabilties which some time provide you old or outdates drivers. Or I have specifically experince that easy updates like Chroem, zoom, slacks are easy to go but when you have some tricky updates that might be either time taking or might fail and then you have to troubelshoot and fix those and run the process again. Lot of problems it is solving for us like patching, updates, system configuration, reporting on both complaint and non compliance resources, help us to fix and repair machines with the office network or not so remote users just need to have Automox and their devices will start reflecting in centralized Automox Portal. I belive few of its features are just outstanding like writing custom scripts where you can create custom scripts very easily and then apply or I should say you can enforce it as well. I like the highly customizable patching policies in Automox. It's great that it just works well and I can count on it to keep our machines up to date. Patching can be done in a way that allows end users to apply updates within a reasonable window, minimizing interference with their work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Automox? I like the colors and overall layout of the website, but sometimes the formatting of the different elements doesn't look the best. It makes scrolling a bit difficult. Automox uses different panes of information on a page it displays. Sometimes a pane will have a scroll bar at the bottom, but if you scroll down, it will scroll the page and not the pane. Also, it may need to scroll from left to right, but the bar to do the scrolling isn't visible until you scroll to the bottom of the pane. Onboarding was pretty easy overall. Getting the Apple Silicon Macs onboarded was pretty time-consuming. Also, some software will show up on vulnerability reports from other tools but then doesn't show up as vulnerable in Automox. The capabilities of Automox to manage our endpoints via patching or you can say vulnerability management. Apart from that if there is any software updates or any configuration changes required we use Automox and achieve the desired outcome. I mean we use Automox for several purposes like our support helpdesk also use for remote control for troubleshooting endpoints. Only thing which I don't like about Automox or I should say Automox do not have that feature is around zero day vulnerabilities, since we all know you require complete analysis for zero day vulnerabilities and they need to be fix ASAP and zero day vulnerabilities can even impact the production servers as well. The dashboard shows a lot of information about everything that’s going on. At a glance, I can see where things are, what they are, and what they aren’t. What do you dislike about Automox? I used to get signed off every hour, but I opened a ticket and they changed our environment to a 4-hour session. The main problem, of course, was the constant stream of CVEs coming out every week and trying to keep up with them. Automox has simplified that by tracking all of the information for us and letting us create multiple schedules across multiple plants. Its strong capability of patching our platform where all OS are covered like Linux, Windows and MacoS. Installing the agents on endpoint is very simple and straight forward as well and with in few seconds the machine start showing on your management portal. Only thing which I don't like about them is if an app is not available in Automox catalog then you have to package it yourself or use custom scripts and that might be bit of tedious work but yes they do have worklets which help you in this cases but you have to test it out first in lower environment before rolling in production. I find Automox easy to operate, making endpoint patching straightforward and helping us generate compliance reports, which are crucial for our SOC 2 audits. The vulnerability remediation features are valuable, allowing me to prioritize vulnerabilities based on CVE numbers and set up timelines to fix them. This prioritization helps focus on managing critical vulnerabilities effectively. I appreciate the Worklets feature, which offers automation scripting that saves a lot of manual effort by creating automation workflows.
