I also like that it has the ability to schedule when patching will be done across multiple different groups of devices. Automox is one of the easiest implementations that I have done for patch management, its simple dashboard that can be exported to PDF that gives an overview of Compliant Devices, Policies Executed and available patches. Furthermore the policies that you can create are simple and effective, giving you options to install patches that does not require a reboot daily and patches that require a reboot weekly. Automox also integrates with SAML which makes sign in much more streamlined. **What do you dislike about Automox?** I dont have much negative feedback other than the session expiry is a slight bit short, and it is quite expensive compared to other patch management solutions. **What problems is Automox solving and how is that benefiting you?** Evertrade, is a Medium sized enterprise with around 300 Windows, Linux and MacOS devices mixed, It makes patch management a breeze as it supports the three of the most common operating systems as it is in our environment. We typically set up our patches to "Patch All" and do every available update 1 evening a week. It's easy to notify the users of a standard maintenance window, once a week in the evening, and set the expectation that their computers will be updated and perhaps reboot during that time. It's also nice to have the additional feature of the "Worklet", where I can create a basic script that can run either on a schedule or on demand. For example, we've had computers that will lose the sync to their timezone, so having a script that resets and resyncs the Windows time service is super handy. I don't need to touch their machine, I just click into the worklet, add their device, and within 5 minutes they are writing me to say it's all set! Every time I've had to reach out to Automox support, they have been super helpful. If they can't provide an easy answer, they seem to go the extra mile and find a way to do what I am looking to do. I've been very impressed with the dedication and knowledge they've brought to my support tickets. As a fully remote company, with users all over the United States, it makes it so easy to ensure that devices stay updated and compliant. **What do you dislike about Automox?** I really don't have too many complaints about Automox, the only one that really stands out is that it doesn't have an option to force stop some programs if they are running. Snagit and Zoom come to mind. I would like the option to notify the user that the sofware is about to be updated, and they have the option to defer or accept. If accepted (or not acknowledged) within 15 minutes the program is force-closed and updated. **What problems is Automox solving and how is that benefiting you?** Since we are fully remote, it makes it easy to apply updates and ensure our devices stay compliant. At times, tracking progress and status proved challenging for some members of our team. Locating script logs often proved difficult once we had deployed. We figured out ways to work around it. Patches for common apps are easy to schedule with minimal work required to get it set up. **What do you dislike about Automox?** The secure token for Apple Silicon devices remains a lingering issue that requires manual remediation in a lot of cases. The agent doesn't always connect as expected causing patch delays/vulnerabilities. Policy sets and rules to determine what updates to pick, what to skip are very good. Generally Im very happy about the idea of having a remote connection to end user desktops. Policies push out consistently as expected, & worklets are powerful & allow us to go beyond standard patch mangement. **What do you dislike about Automox?** The remote control tool is one of my only critiques as it's rather slow & feels a bit archaic, does not have file transfer capabilities which is something I leverage often. They seem aware of this shortcoming though and should be addressing it later this year. I'd have liked to see native integrations with all the major cloud providers. **What problems is Automox solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've had issues with other tools being very slow in deploying patches; Automox seems to be strong in this regard which is something we value greatly as it means we can patch critical vulnerabilities in a timely manner, and have trust that critical policies are actually being enforced. ### 21. Having the ability to unify patch procedures for all our Operating Systems (IOS, MacOS, Windows 11, Windows Server, RHEL) is a huge win. **What do you dislike about Automox?** The lack of standard, automated API integrations with leading Vulnerability Management Solutions, such as Tenable. **What problems is Automox solving and how is that benefiting you?** With our existing patching tools (MS Intune, SCCM), we lack features to patch third-party software in a seemless, automated manner. This caused signficant risk as critical security vulnerabilities piled up over time and caused several 'fire drills' for admins. By using Automox, we were able to completely remediate this risk by configuring automated third-party patching. Additionally, this has been helpful for better understanding current vulnerabilities on systems. Besides reducing security risk, this has also ensured all employees have the same client experience, helping reduce significant help-desk time during troubleshooting client issues. ### 22. Agent install are easy and straightforward, and Automox has responsive customer support. **What do you dislike about Automox?** For certain update item, Automox seems to be pushing software which fails, then reboots the system on its set schedule if policy is set that way which could irritate some users. We have complex maintenance schedules that shift month-to-month, so being able to set a 3rd Wednesday rather than a fixed date works well for us. Getting up and running and was fairly simple and straightforward, with us only needing to deploy agents and connect them up to the Automox cloud. Automox caters for proxying only the Automox traffic rather than having system wide proxies which works well for us in a predominantly server environment. **What do you dislike about Automox?** Over the past 6 to 8 months we've seen a significant degradation in performance and reliability with the product. Frequent outages of the console, delays in policies processing, or patching policies not processing at all. Sometimes this happens multiple times per week and is really disappointing and has dented our confidence in the product. There have been automatic updates to the agents on at least two occasions which changed some behaviour about how it works, which has severely impacted us and our infrastructure operationally. Worklets also allow us to see an "activity log" for our policies, this will return the results of powershell scripts that were run on specific devices, so we can comfirm if the script worked, or if there were errors and troubleshoot from there. **What do you dislike about Automox?** I think it would be better if there was some more tutorials and help located near where you create worklets, because this would save time because when I'm not sure how to make a policy to do what I specified, I need to go online and do some research and this can take awhile. Secondly, we have alot of software that requires updates that users cannot do themselves because they do not have local admin rights, automox allows us to remotely install these on computers. Automox does quite a bit well, and they seem willing to take on the challenge of patching new apps that aren't in their catalog yet. I am cautiously optimistic that they will start to take care of a few edge titles in my specific environment that have very frequent updates, and is a pain to manually patch. OS updates and Upgrade management is a major reason we turned to this platform and by all indications, it is going to fit the bill quite well. How things are orginized in the platform makes sense, and gives you a lot of good information at a quick glance. At our tier, we have custom onboarding which has greatly facilitated our implemtation of this. I look forward to finalizing things. The added bonus of things like a remote support tool add a ton of value to us. In my experiences with their support arm - they seem competent and generally provide a timely and cohearant response to questions and issues I have. **What do you dislike about Automox?** I would really like to see the ability to customize the branding on the notificaions a bit, and get way more granular in the types of notificaions we send out to our end users. On windows, there is a generic Green checkbox, and I feel that the notificaions piece could be greatly improved. On the macOS side, I think Automox would *GREATLY* benefit from using something like swiftdialog to enhance the ability to brand, and customize precisely what our users see. I wish that the process for secure token on the macOS side was a bit less painful, but being fair to Automox, Apple has not made this easy for anyone, and I do have a solution that works, it is just sub optimal. **What problems is Automox solving and how is that benefiting you?** This will help our security posture, compliance and change management greatly. When there are critical updates we can force them quickly. When there is an update known to cause problems we can slow roll it. We can choose the day and time we want to have patches apply, and we can set up groups with different paramenters. Remote support from anywhere is a huge added value for us. It also automatically runs updates without forcing the users to do anything but restarting their computer. Rollout was also very easy, and their team was very responsive during the trial. **What do you dislike about Automox?** Everything is completely silent from the user's end, with no way for them to impact the software. This means that if the software is taking a while to load, then you have no control over the computer, nor can you instruct the user on how to restart it on their end. This gets really annoying if you're trying to remote in or run a worklet. **What problems is Automox solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's letting us silently run updates and push out higher-level computer changes to all users simultaneously without needing to interrupt them or tell them to do it themselves. ### 50.
