"Fortra Automate - I like the concept, but each new release brings new problems"
1/5
What do you like best about Automate®?

It is easy to learn and begin to use. However with the later updates, it becomes increasingly more difficult to use because you have to work around issues with the web browser actions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Automate®?

I do not like that it does not have a cloud hosting option. It would be fantastic to give people that option if they were to want that. Also, cloud hosting makes it really easy to test out all the features. Having self-service trials on a cloud hosted version would be a lot easier for people to try it out and see how it works.

The big thing lately for us is that Automate is constantly breaking current functionality when it comes to the web browser actions. If you are not using these, you will likely love the product.. But web browser actions doing what you tell them to do is critical for our business use case

Support seemed great at first, but that was due to working with some bad vendors in the past. Now that I have taken a deep dive into support, I've learned that the customer facing support team is fantastic, but nothing seems to happen once things get escalated in terms of the bugs I'm finding. They'll make a hotfix that fixes the one singular issue that I point out, however it may or may not make it into the next release. At one point they made a hotfix and said that it was just for our company's use with the way we use Automate, even though this was in fact was a change they made that broke existing functionality of the web browser actions..

I've also accidentally been tagged in email threads for similar escalated support issues with other companies by senior staff.

Again, first line support has been great, but once a ticket gets escalated and deep in the weeds, there's not been much help other than hotfixes that do not resolve the root issue of releasing changes without properly testing that they do not break existing functionality.

Because of these issues, we have attempted to upgrade from 11.6 to 11.7 (which horribly failed and 11.7 subsequently got pulled and re-released). Then we were testing 22.1 which also got re-released as 22.1.1. Initially we could not upgrade to 22.1.1, but after rebuilding one of our big processes entirely, we were able to get it to work with 22.1.1 and work around the issues that this update has with performance on the execution server.

23.1 was a dumpster fire of broken web browser actions that I very quickly identified bugs on using public-facing websites. 24.1 fixed a few of those, but left some bugs still standing, and broke some new things with web browser actions.

In short, I've been working with Autoamte on escalated tickets for a couple years now. Half of our environment is on 22.1.1 and the other half is on 11.6 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Morgan Celley of Automate®

Hi, thank you for sharing! I’m glad the no-code scripting has been so helpful, and it’s impressive that you’ve automated thousands of reports! I hear your frustration with the ownership changes, and I appreciate you sticking with us through all those versions!

"We finally have the opportunity to focus on what truly matters"

What do you like best about Automate®?

What I like best about Automate Robotic Process Automation is how easy it is to build workflows without needing to code. I’ve used it to automate repetitive tasks like report generation and data entry between Excel and our ERP system. It integrates smoothly with Outlook too, so we’ve got bots pulling attachments and filing them correctly without lifting a finger. It’s saved us a lot of manual work and reduced small errors that used to slip through. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Automate®?

I would say what I dislike about Automate RPA is that it does not always do system updates well. Our bots stopped working a few times after an OS or app update then reconfigured parts of the workflow. Additionally, some deeper integration options between those platforms we use in the web and how far we can go with automation are also missing. At times it’s created extra work, because we wanted the bot to do the job in its entirety. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Our team's efficiency has really taken off, and it's amazing to see"

What do you like best about Automate®?

The ability of Automate to execute repetitive tasks makes the solution highly advantageous. The automation system saves time for essential tasks because it performs data entry work automatically. The system links effortlessly with various programs so users experience uninterrupted information exchange. The system features a simple drag-and-drop interface that makes it usable by users with minimal technical experience. Each team member can handle automation workflows on their own through this capability which enhances operational efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Automate®?

Novice users will encounter a challenging level of difficulty during their learning process. Learning all available features of the interface and becoming accustomed to it requires some time. The pricing system is difficult to understand because costs rise along with the number of bots or increased usage. Troubleshooting problems becomes challenging because the provided support documentation does not provide enough detailed information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A solid solution for task automation"
4/5
What do you like best about Automate®?

I am happy Automate Robotic Process Automation is taking care of repetitive work and freeing us of that. We’ve automated the data transfer across teams in the way that won’t need extra efforts to make sure it’s accurate. What sets it apart from other GPS and GLONASS automotive solutions is its capability to respond to specific triggers and not require constant over site. On the contrary, error detection keeps us ahead of the game: from detecting and preventing problems before they cause any significant problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Automate®?

The only disadvantage of Automate Robotic Process Automation is that some tasks consume more system resources than expected so it affects performance now and then. One case of bailing out is running multiple workflows at the same time which may slow down other operations. Some processes are not always restarted after interruptions and require manual resets. Due to these challenges, we have to make sure that we are handling our schedules dexterously and avaricious in order not to have unexpected delays of the execution of a task. "Our data entry errors have dropped significantly and it's a huge weight off our shoulders"
4/5
What do you like best about Automate®?

The bot builder component of Automate provides an intuitive interface that enables people without technical background to implement complex workflow solutions. The integration capabilities between Automate and CRM and ERP applications represent a fundamental business advancement. The implementation of automation eliminated our data entry process duration from extended hours into short minutes. The analytics features enable us to find operational obstacles while we also enhance productivity through their analysis capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Automate®?

The overwhelming number of customization options makes starting the application feel complex. The software would benefit users if more basic-level tutorial videos were added to the system. The response time of customer support can become lengthy during busy periods which creates inconvenience for users trying to solve problems. The software requires significant computer resources so users need to verify their system meets the requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable task automation that reduces manual workload"
4/5
What do you like best about Automate®?

One that I really like about Automate Robotic Process Automation is that it runs unattended tasks reliably. And it has made it possible for us to dispose of repetitive manual work such as processing invoices and scheduling data transfers. According to me because we can schedule tasks run at some time without fear. Additionally, it has made things more consistent along workflows, so that mistakes occur less as tasks are done manually. It’s been all around an easy way to optimize the day to day processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Automate®?

The main problem I face with Automate Robotic Process Automation is that error resolution becomes hard to handle. The system logs do not show complete details so we must guess what failed. Our workflow accuracy depends on fixing errors which takes longer than expected. New updates sometimes contain bugs that make us change our working processes that used to work without problems. Our work progress slows down when we need fast outcomes because of these problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A reliable way to reduce manual workload"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Automate®?

What I like about Automate Robotic Process Automation is that it is dependable enough to do routine tasks without constant supervision. We have used it extensively to process invoices and update the records, thus reducing the chances of mistakes. The system is also responsive on specific triggers providing it with more of a workflow. It helps my team to focus on major chunks, by having less manual steps in the process happening on a day to day basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Automate®?

The problem with Automate Robotic Process Automation is that it can be a time consuming process to troubleshoot errors. The system is not always clear what went wrong when an execution of a workflow fails. Additionally, some processes use more system resources than expected, slowing down other applications that are running along side it. On occasion this has led to delays in task execution, and thus extra attention to prevent an interruption of our automated workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"No more losing client info halfway through projects"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Automate®?

Automate Robotic provides automation for our data entry responsibilities which I really enjoy. The reporting feature enables us to save three hours of work each week. The system generates excellent reports which clients receive without hassle. Software works smoothly with all our current tools without any problems. It runs all tasks without causing any trouble. The automation system works well for maintaining recurring operations including spreadsheet updates and email distribution. It functions like an additional set of hands which maintains unlimited energy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Automate®?

The occasional time lag in data synchronization proves to be annoying to users. During the same period as last week our sales data required excessive time for synchronization and we had to perform manual verification of each entry. Such situations create an annoying experience for users. Our app sometimes fails unexpectedly while requiring us to start the operation from scratch. Being in an important task causes frustration when your system freezes in the middle of your work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
