"Intuitive PLM solution and CAD management with robust feature set"

What do you like best about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

It enables CAD and document revision and lifecycle control, accessible through an intuitive web browser or plug in. The cloud based functionality allows me to review and check data when on the move. It is a well structured solution which solves the common problems which we were seeing in a fast paced product development space. On top of this the UPchain team are professional, quick to respond and seem willing to implement new ideas and functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

There was more detail in set up than initially anticipated. It would be great to have a hands on demo before purchase rather than a video introduction. This would have allowed us to dive deeper into what we were purchasing and ensure that this was the correct product for our needs and problems. There have been a couple of bugs but the team have been fantastic in responding to these. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Autodesk Fusion Manage solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are eliminating multiple versions and duplicated files which was a common problem with multiple users and teams working on the same projects. Forced revision control on check in helps ensure that the correct revisions are being selected by the manufacturing team. Viewer licenses with mark up is an invaluable tool for the assembly line. It will streamline our processes and reduce waste in the form of time and scrap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

There are a lot of features that seem like they will be quite useful for our team and the Upchain group has been quite responsive to responding to our individual questions, making sure we can get the most out of the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

I haven't really found any downsides to Upchan that wouldn't apply to any PLM/PDM system. It will take a bit of work to set up and the training was a bit overwhelming at first, but the Upchain Academy and plethora of helpful resources are already making up for that! What do you like best about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

Very comprehensive data capture and management. Pulls ALL of your product data together and controls the release of the right data to suppliers and internal customers.

Maintains a single point of truth for a given product. Prevents suppliers or production from using the wrong data.

Easy 3D item viewing for production users is invaluable.

The custom "workflows" that automate and define the approval and release of information are brilliant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

Well, it is cloud based.

What do you like best about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

Central data location, revision control, data protection etc etc the usual merits of a PLM system (we don't have one at present, so this is a vast improvement for us). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

Cloud navigation can be occasionally be sluggish.

Third party ontrol may be tricky at time i.e. server down times and reliance on off site servers, should be fine though I'm sure!

Unable to observe at approve level the workflow journey and who the approvers are and their real time status. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Autodesk Fusion Manage:

Carefully consider your data efficiency and how much time is being usurped from: wasting time with data duplication + unclear revision control, data transparency, data miscommunications across department and within smaller teams, wasting time searching for local server data, having to corroborate what data is recent, not effectively working off site. Don't feel compelled to employ your CAD provider PLM recommendations, Upchain is third party powerful full life cycle management offering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

The best aspect to Upchain is its cohesive platform. As a full PDM and PLM solution, it provides and all-in-one approach. As a Solidworks user, the plug-in is crucial for it's PDM functions and the ability to control full life cycle management within the same platform is seamless. Additionally, the direct to consumer communication has proved to be far superiors to having to go through a authorized reseller other platforms require. If there is a question, or improvement suggestion, direct communication to the Upchain team is easy. The response time and feedback has been phenomenal. Platform updates are pushed every 30-60 days, so improvements are continual. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

As a relatively new platform there have been a few bugs, but the development team have been extremely quick to implement fixes. Overall, I am very satisfied with very little dislikes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Autodesk Fusion Manage solving and how is that benefiting you?

The most substantial problem that Upchain solves for us is that it is an all-inclusive platform. It's PDM and PLM tools function within one seamless platform. There is not manual transmission of data or a third party software link needed to make all of your system work together properly. What do you like best about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

It's hard to pick what I like best. There are so many useful features that are equally important in different ways. The document control features and being able to modify approval processes is a big one for me though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Autodesk Fusion Manage?

There's not anything that I "dislike" although I do look forward to a bit more flexibility on the project management gantt chart. I would like to more easily change timelines and tasks around as project attributes change but that could be just me being lazy ;). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1) Document Control (ECR's and CAD mainly)

2) Project Management and an effective way to assign tasks across the company

3) More visibility to specifications and how often they are revised within a department

4) How we treat BOM data and sub-assembly changes
