## Autodesk EAGLE Reviews
  ### 1. Eagle review (from a Mac user)

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

The creating of components and libraries has gotten much easier (especially since my previous workflow existed on version 5 via Cadsoft still). The reuse of blocks is quick and not complicated at all, especially with the addition of disconnected flows. Now you can prepare predefined blocks and use them anywhere effectively.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Realtime sync is might work well for one man projects, but my experience using it with larger teams is not reliable and not used at this point.

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

I'm excited for Autodesk taking over EAGLE and improving support already, I'm expecting this product to evolve faster now with more improvement implementations coming soon.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using the .sch and .brd files is an industry standard not only for creating our designs, but viewing and analyzing any projects in our field. We use this product everyday, and so do other members in our supply chain from our PCB board printers to our service support technicians.

  ### 2. Reliable and easy to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel B. | Alarms Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Eagle was very easy to learn. I have been a user for MANY years now, and have never had an issue with it. New feature seem very intuitive to learn.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

I wish there was an importer from KiCad.

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

Very easy to use. Library parts are fairly simple to create!

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Eagle for many projects. Recently have used for a Linear Tech power supply and an alarm system for our vehicles.

  ### 3. Board designer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

the recent improvements and being able to dump step files of my board designs from fusion.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

i have become proficient with it but i dont like the interface. i am not a fan of command line stuff, and the interface is first and foremost a command line system with a gui on top.
adding dimensions to drawings is painful... the 'snap to' thing never lets me snap to the thing i want.
You should also be able to recenter your origin as well... doing everything to the lower left corner is fine, but being flexible there would be a real nice feature when designing boards to fit a specific package.

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

leave some time to get familiar with the interface.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

designing circuits and boards. Its taken some getting used to, but i really like being able to dump step files of my boards from eagle to fusion.

  ### 4. A great Electronics CAD program that keeps getting better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chip M. | Cloud and Automation Sales Specialist for DoD, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

The workflow is very straightforward and matches my preferred style.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Library management has improved but it is still not what it needs to be. This is the one area where I believe KiCAD could start to make converts. Keeping the Libraries organized, stable across upgrades / updates and synchronized is a real pain.

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

Fix Libraries!

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I build custom circuit boards for outdoor applications. EAGLE is excellent for this work.

  ### 5. Both premium and unregistered versions are at the users fingertips

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony K. | Lead sales Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

One can transfer their accounts from one eagle to another without loosing their account features. It is simple to use and does not use up many system resources

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

When one has logged out, the software reverts back to the unregistered software and the new user looses the features that the previous account had

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

Eagle is a great software and i hope especially students can use it

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was so simple to create drawings of lighting in our houses and measure the type of current to be passed through each component.

  ### 6. Excellent CAD tool for PCB designing.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aravindh k. | Electronic Engineer, avionics engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2019

I use it for what it is meant for- PCB design for circuits we use in our lab.

  ### 8. It is an easy to use software with enough support on the internet

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas C. | Laboratory Coordinator, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

What I like the most is that in the same software allows you to take a project from its design and simulation, to the generation of the gerber files to send to its manufacture. It also allows you to navigate between the views of the circuit and the board easily, it provides very useful tools such as auto-aligner and auto-routing.
Finally, I think that when Eagle becomes part of Autodesk, it constantly improves

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

one of the biggest cons that I see in the software is that it does not optimize the use of the mouse, that is, for some actions you have to select many options like choosing or moving several components at the same time, it is not so intuitive

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

Autodesk makes many updates, you have to be patient and practice using the new tools. Before giving up with the use of a component, look in the hundreds of pages where users share the libraries.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have developed more than 30 electronic boards to control different machines and applications, and the licenses are quite affordable, their price is low. In today's world it is vital to design and manufacture PCBs for business technology projects.

  ### 9. Great tool

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

It has been modernized and improved. I am not a heavy duty user and so am n to using the 3D capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

The early on logins were a pain and this seems to been made to be accomplished with my intervention.

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

I got started because Sparkfun/Adafruit had videos on how too make components, etc. My background is more mechanical and so it was straightforward to learn how to use.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was an Eagle User before and so AurtoDesk has improved the software greatly.

  ### 11. Autodesk Eagle

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Hardware | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

The thing that I like best about Autodesk Eagle is how user friendly it is to use and get up and running within the company. Injecting it into the existing workflows that were apart of the company was really easy and streamlined.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

I don't think that there is anything specific at this time that I do not like about the product. I think just like anything there is room for improvement and productivity enhancements but I would struggle at this time to give you specifics as I am pretty happy with the performance at this time.

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

No specific recommendations at this time. Just make sure that you have a soling Implementation plan so that you can get the buy in and have the properly defined workflows to increase the productivity and show the value that the product can bring to the table.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Where this has been used is to automate some production when it came to assembling different boards for production.

  ### 13. Autodesk EAGLE Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohan K. | Chief Marketing Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Autodesk provides great tools and at a great price, especially for students. EAGLE allows you to take your vision from design & simulation, to the generation of files to send to your manufacturer. Overall great tool and offered at a great price.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

I can see the pricing going up once the student license is not valid. In addition, the learning curve to understand the program is quite high. A dumbed down layout would be good.

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

Create a more friendly UX and UI

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving the problems of electronic prototype board design. Creating new board designs and testing them.

  ### 14. User friendly, simple to use

  ### 15. My review of Autodesk Eagle

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

I like Eagle because:
* Integrated schematic editor, CAD layout editor, and extensive library components.
* Component creation in the library editor.
* Ease of use between editors

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

I don't have any dislikes about Eagle as such.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Design and fab of specialized power supplies.

  ### 16. Great Value PCB with Deficiencies for Advanced Design

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

I like EAGLE's ease of ULP integration, and how easy it is to create my own "Features".

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

EAGLE is incapable of processing ODB++ files, or generating IPC netlists for complicated PCBs.

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

Do not attempt complicated PCBs with this software, use more advanced tools for blind and burried PCBs, or those that require special net classes on hi-speed signals, length matching etc.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EAGLE is easily integrated into SCM tools such as git because it's files are all XML based.

  ### 17. Basic design software for PCBs

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

I has all the tools you need to create printed circuit board (PCBs). The software has very complex operation and it is capable of doing a lot though not as intuitive as other design software.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

I find the software not as intuitive as other Autodesk product. It seems much less modern and an older style of design software. I am a fairly new user to this software but have more than 10 year experience with other Autodesk products so I can see there are a lot of complete functions which will be useful to our company but you really need to read the wording on the tutorials.

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

I recommend using Eagle to create PCB files. Using the library of lelectronic components to place and create schematics and layouts is fairly simple in Eagle. However if your parts aren't available in the existing libary creating your own libraryof components can take time. The software isn't the most straight forward and you really have to use resources like tutorials and forums to learn how to work with the software.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software is helping us create files for our PCB designs that can be sent to manufactures to create the PCBs as well it helps create Gerber files we can with CAM on our pick and place machine to automate the placement of the electrical components. I allow us to create all the file in one software that can be used for multiple purposes.

  ### 18. Great tool for manufacturing test/support boards

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Semiconductors | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Affordability
Able to easily transfer manufacturing/fab files to PCB manufacturer. Nice interface to OshPark for example.
Accessible online training.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Library structure is ambiguous and hard to navigate.
I would like to have access to "recently visited" or "favorites" libraries. Currently hard to find the library you want within the huge list of libraries.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick way to manufacture test and support boards for development of our products.

  ### 19. One of the easiest tools for making PCBs

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2018

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Eagle is a computer-aided design tool for making electronic circuit boards (PCB). Despite having a free version for hobbyists, it is a commercial product, so you would expect a quality standard along with up to date documentation and support.
Eagle may not bet the most advanced tool for designing circuit boards, but it's certainly one of the simplest. Furthermore, thanks to the huge hobbyist community around it, you can find lots of tips, tricks and how-to's on the internet when facing a problem.
Some fabs provide design rule checking rules for Eagle, so you can be sure there won't be any problem at manufacturing.
Having a Linux version is also a plus.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

The user interface is not very intuitive, and usability is not its strength. It takes a while to get used to it. Project organization and navigation is somehow weird.

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

I suggest people considering EAGLE to download a free version (it's got most of the features; only the board size and number of layers is limited) to be able to use the software and decide if its worth its cost or not.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't usually produce printed circuit boards, but once in a while we need to come up with a custom circuit for a microcontroller project. Eagle lets us easily design the board, get the Gerber, and send it to a manufacturer to get the real thing.
By the time we started making PCBs we also considered KiCad, an open-source tool. While equally capable, we found it more difficult to use. We know there has been significant investment in KiCad since, but we have never looked back so far. Other commercial products where beyond our needs and budget for a tool like this, or they won't offer a Linux version, which is a downside for us.

  ### 20. it's the best PCB designer software with the very affordable price and tons of library.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Since it's free software, everybody around the world can use it and contribute to the library. so it has a huge set of library for everything.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Some time to time, I noticed that the program does not save my design and I lost my design.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since I'm trying to make my product's prototype, it's very useful that I don't need to spend too much money on expensive software.

  ### 21. Great mid-level CAD

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

It's inexpensive (ish), and I've been using it for years

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Yearly maintenance - Much preferred a one-time charge. Library and symbol maintenance is awkward.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integration with Fusion360

  ### 22. My favorite tool for PCB design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin H. | Water Safety Instructor, Consumer Electronics, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Eagle allows me to lay out my board visually and now has 3d modelling, much like Altium. The auto-router works better than most other packages and is genuinely useful. It supports native gestures for Macbooks, so it makes it a joy to work with.

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

The auto-router is still not perfect and could use some work, and exporting DFM files could be smoother.

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

Eagle is well supported by the community and is overall the best choice for PCB packages.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eagle has allowed me to quickly design boards for quick-turn manufacture with very few mistakes. Without it I would not be as good of an engineer as I am today.

  ### 23. Powerful, but unintuitive

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Machinery | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2018

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

Once you've gotten used to it, it's pretty easy to quickly work out a basic sort of circuit board. There's usually also a lot of help out there, if you know where to look, and a lot of the libraries are accurate and worthwhile

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

It's not very intuitive, and most of the automated functions don't work out well except on the simplest boards (where you're least likely to need it).

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

If you're already used to its sort of setup, it's a good choice.

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Circuit board layout, primarily, and getting it easily prepared and sent off to manufacturers

  ### 24. Eagle

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

I like the customization and libraries available for the program with lots of tutorials

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

The only thing I am not a fan of is everything is pretty overcomplicated and can get overwhelming

**Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE:**

Use the tutorials available on youtube, they help so much

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This helped me get custom PCBs printed for my team

  ### 25. The Best PCB design Platform!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanjeevi T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Autodesk EAGLE?**

The way the Schematic and Layout are intertwined together seamlessly. Its light years ahead of things like Orcad

**What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE?**

I dont like the fact that I have to use to premium just to increase the available PCB area to work with

**What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving engineering design problems with Autodesk. We have successfully acquired our client using the design boards we did using this software

  ### 26. Solid software to plan out circuit board design
