As someone that has taught PCB Design using EAGLE for a few years, I quite loved it because it simply works. It has come a long way, and for such a small package, it is pretty capable. It has a simple interface; you do not get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of buttons, menus, tools that you get from competitors tools like Altium or Mentor PADs Pro. It is effortless to learn. You do not get to see as many bugs as you'd see in Altium for instance Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE? The integration with Fusion360. The intention was pure; the execution, however, very poor. Imagine an everyday User of EAGLE for six years; I couldn't find my way around as quickly as I could before. Integrating 3D models into parts was a mess, and the simple library creation process somehow felt unnecessarily more complex. Compared to Altium, EAGLE had a long way to go. A very long way. Another no for me is the micromanagement from Autodesk. At least that's how it feels Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Autodesk EAGLE: Please stick to the standalone EAGLE Package first, master it, learn the ins and outs. Once that is done, then gradually move to fusion integration. You'll be surprised how quickly that happens. What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you? EAGLE is CAD software. It helps create fairly complex PCBs. EAGLE has been around for a long time. This means a lot of designs in the past, but also still today are being made by large companies (Adafruit and Sparkfun, to name a few). This leads to a lot of easy and quick development for users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE? Today, EAGLE is available only as part of Fusion 360. While this is not an issue per se, a lot of users do not need Fusion 360 for development (of schematics and PCBs). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Autodesk EAGLE solving and how is that benefiting you? In 2019 our company (SODAQ) was using EAGLE as the main design ECAD tool. This meant most of our design and libraries were reusable for new projects. However, after our team size grew, both the projects and libraries became impossible to manage. Once you've gotten used to it, it's pretty easy to quickly work out a basic sort of circuit board. What do you dislike about Autodesk EAGLE? It's not very intuitive, and most of the automated functions don't work out well except on the simplest boards (where you're least likely to need it).
