My Alias experience **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2016 **What do you like best about Autodesk Alias?** Alias is definitely good for creating accurate surfaces. A plus is that it is compatible with many milling machines. The software is also still used by many automotive companies. **What do you dislike about Autodesk Alias?** The interface is not user friendly. Simple surface development can be too much to ask of alias, while in other programs it is many times easier. Workflow is very mechanical and does not encourage creativity. Modelling progress is generally slow. Updating and changing models is difficult and inconvenient. **Recommendations to others considering Autodesk Alias:** I recommend Alias for users with surface modeling experience or engineering goals. Modelers looking for creative solutions and user friendliness should look elsewhere. **What problems is Autodesk Alias solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem that is being solved is whether or not Alias is fit to be in the design industry anymore. The realization is that many other programs are overtaking it. ### 2. I also quite like the interface with the pop up menu and shortcut **What do you dislike about Autodesk Alias?** You have to build everything perfectly, and it is not easy to to experimentation and iterations. It does not allow to be very creative. Plus it takes a lot of time to build something. Also the license is super expensive compare to other softwares, so a lot of companies don't have this software anymore and it become less useful to know how to use it. **What problems is Autodesk Alias solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have built clean 3D easy to export and to do qualitative renders ### 3.
