The LT version has some limitations compared to the full version of AutoCAD. From my experience, there are some limitations when converting shape files or KMZ for which you need AutoCAD Civil. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AutoCAD LT is CAD software that is used for precise 2D drafting, design, and documentation.

AutoCAD LT is the more economical version of AutoCAD, and therefore just has all the basic features, like tool palettes, external referencing, and printing/plotting etc.

It includes features to automate tasks and increase productivity

Here is the list of things what I didn't like about AutoCAD LT:

- No 3D modeling (we all know this)

- No custom programming (incl LISP and API)

- No parametric constraints.

- No Express tools.

- No data extraction.

- No Visual Styles (you can't create sketchy lines and other styles)

- You can't install add-on or plug-ins.

Auto CAD lite is easy to use, fast and to the point drawing and planning software for civil mechanical and electrical engineers. As it a lite version so its loading time is fast which is very usefull for low end pcs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

All 3D drawing and drafting tools are missing and some of the 2D commands are also missing, for example, Multilines, Multilineedit, Multilinestyle etc. Auto CAD VBA programming tools are also absent in this lite virsion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's one the best and easier software that takes less effort to complete your work as well it lighter and according to me, its cost is less than any other software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is lagging while importing some heavy cad files and it also takes extra time while generating views one more thing I don't like is its continuous orbit function it can't make to set a particular angle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

3D rendering capabilities are becoming a general requirement as the computation power in increasing day by day. LT has done well to cope up with market requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The annual subscription fee is overpriced for what the software is required to do.

The fact that you still have to select a version year when saving a .CAD file to ensure others can open it if they are using a different version is kind of rediculous and if you're converting file types AutoDesk requires too many in between import/export programs to get similar files into the format required. While there are a multitude of features than even I (after over a decade of use) have yet to learn, AutoCAD provides a platform to explore 2D realms for many types of projects from landscaping to topography to architectural plans. I've recently become hooked on Sheet Sets which allow a convenient way of linking and organizing multiple files and pages to one project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If I were to name anything, which I'm ahead hesitant because I've never had many complaints about AutoCAD to begin with, I'd say the crash reports. There are times when I know I'm overloading the file with references which occasionally causes the program to crash. While I'm sure the the crash reports get added to a data base that can be compiled and analyzed for eventual upgrades, I'm not sure if it helps me in the scenario. As in, sending a crash report doesn't explain why the program crashed or what I can do to avoid it. For the most part, I know these answers so this really isn't a major concern for me. AutoCAD LT is great because it gives you almost all the full set of features of the full Autocad program, but at a considerable cost saving. There are also great help tutorials online or on Youtube. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are occasionally a few features I encounter I wish I had with the LT version but are only found in the full version of Autocad. Definitely worth the cost savings though, to not have them. I prefer the savings! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
