Top Rated Aurea List Manager Alternatives
Lyris Listmanager is by far the most superior paid for platform for mass mailing. I've managed two installations of Lyris Listmanager over the past 10 years and every time from installation to operation it's delivered results.
User management is key in mass mailing, with Lyris Listmanager your email management is completely automated no duplicates, automatic quarantine of bounced and failed email address are all inbuilt making management of your members easy.
Reporting and analytics are a marketing managers dream, with Lyris you get a ton of reporting facilities from delivery statistics, heat maps which track how an email performs to member reporting letting you know how many people you're talking to.
If you're a developer then Lyris Listmanager comes with a plethora of API calls and automation hooks. The Lyris developers even allow you to add custom database columns to mold the system to your requirements so you can get truly segmented data.
If I was to join a new company and was asked to install a mailing solution, Lyris Listmanager would be my default choice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As you will tell from the above description of Lyris Listmanager, I like this system, but like with any software it does have its small annoyances.
The downside to Lyris Listmanager in my opinion is the image handling of the content section, let me explain. The content management system of Lyris Listmanager allows administrators of the system to create standard content templates for easy mailing creation, along with having an image library for you to drag and drop images into these templates. You may think great! But the downside has always been that Lyris Listmanager handles images as references, it doesn't upload and store the file, in some instances this is counter productive, especially if the user doesn't have access to a FTP service to put the images on the web.
Aside from this minor issue, the ultimate turn off to this system is cost. For a standalone system that you can install on your own server, your company will have to have deep pockets. But you have the hosted option should you so wish. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like Aurea Email Marketing because of the most powerful email and digital messaging platform. Having features like personalized email automation makes service delivery faster. Mobile-optimized templates and easy visual editors makes it flexible and user friendly. It is easy to manage lists and campaigns as well as automation with good workflow. Have advanced email merges and it is also easy to send large mass of email to your audience. Easy content and link validation are added adverntages. They offer good technical support with perfect customer care. It saves time as there is no training offered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Unfavorable for small sized business becaise of their unfriendly pricing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Works well with sending A large quantity of emails at once. Easy to set up automated programs and to connect to data sources. Creating custom segments is fairly simple as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No support. Learning curve if you don’t know the SQL programming language. No drag and drop editor if you aren’t familiar with HTML code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is very little to like as most of what they provided did not work reliably. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Reliability was an issue. They had many outages where we could not send e-mails for extended periods. They are much more expensive than the alternatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Works well with large amounts of email going through, using external relays. Really powerful system, with a tonne of API calls and automation hooks.

It's only my personal opinion but we had a basic system beforehand and needed more help than we got. You don't get much support when dealing with issues like slow speed sending, software crashes, etc. They shift blame on MTAs now and again... I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't 100% sure they need it.
It's also real expensive. For a standalone system that you can install on your own server, your company will have to have deep pockets.

The program is fairly easy to use. It is nice to be able to clone previous emails, and then go in and edit new emails fairly easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The program does not run all the time. There are glitches where sometimes emails don’t send, and also times when the program won’t even open. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Analytics are okay, not amazing though. To be fair, our company is using a pretty old version of Lyris (not even up to Aurea name!) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Interface is pretty archaic, we build content in a separate wordpress site (WHAT?!) and we can't customize messages with basic user info. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use is probably its defining feature. It offers for many quick, easy to use tools for sending emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Recent price hike and I experience some glitches when running the software. The server has gone down multiple times Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very powerful. Was the first commercially viable email marketing tool to market - Was called Lyris List Manager - back in 1994. It's easy to load and run. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UI is VERY outdated. If you are a tech and need an MTA, it will work fine. But if you are a marketer, there are other newer solutions available today. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
