## Optro Reviews
 ### 1. User-Friendly, Organized, and Reliable—Optro Makes Testing Documentation Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariah K. | Senior Auditor - Audit Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I enjoy that it's user-friendly. The application is very organized & easy to navigate. It's been simple to teach to new users as well. I used to work in organizations where we documented all testing in Excel, so now using Optro has shown a big difference. The speed & reliability of the application is great as well. I've never really experienced any issues with work saving down or fast enough.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

A room of improvement that I would suggest is to be able to pin certain control processes, for easier accessability.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's improving the efficiency of our team. It helps to not be dependent on Excel or manually documenting, uploading, & keeping track of everything that we are testing. It also helps for issue remediations, so that we can keep it more organized & it's easy to stay on a timeline to submit by our deadlines.

 ### 2. Optro, the great ally in Risk Management, Controls, and Audits

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco Polo M. | Gerente de Proyectos Direccion Auditoria Interna, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Optro?**

Auditboard is a tool for managing everything related to the application of audits, findings, auditable entities, among other strong features that the tool possesses. However, a very strong point is its great capacity for customization of Dashboard-type indicators, thanks to the tool it natively includes, Power BI. The possibilities with this integration are only limited by imagination. Any metric and Dashboard can be achieved, which will be natively integrated into the platform.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

An area of opportunity that can be improved is increasing the possibilities in managing user information, being able to fully construct the personnel hierarchies, something that is addressed through Power BI, but it can undoubtedly be much better naturally.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Auditboard, we solve the problem of working under a single methodology, as well as managing results, findings, and action plans. We also unify the Dashboard-type Indicators, which will always be ready and updated.

 ### 3. Centralized Audit Management Made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David A. | Internal Auditor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I like Optro for its centralized documentation, which makes it easier to retrieve audit work papers and track issues. It's great for reviewing the work of other auditors, providing organizational consistency. I appreciate that it streamlines audits, execution, and reporting while maintaining clear audit trails and documentation standards. Assigning work papers to staff and reviewing comments, with the ability to go back and see all closed comments, is a feature I particularly enjoy because it enhances organizational consistency. Additionally, the initial setup was pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

I would like the status to be more detailed with options like open, close, reviewed, or submitted. It would be helpful if these statuses were color-coded, like having open with no color, completed in yellow, and reviewed in green. This would help us easily remember or know which step has been completed and which needs review, making it clearer for lead auditors.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Optro for managing and documenting audit activities, providing a centralized location for work papers and issue tracking. It streamlines audits, execution, and reporting with clear audit trails, allowing easy document retrieval and enhancing organizational consistency.

 ### 4. Clear Control Visibility with Straightforward Navigation and Real-Time Monitoring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maurijn W. | Senior Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I like that it gives us clear visibility into our controls so we can confirm they meet the company’s security standards. The interface is straightforward, which makes it easy for teams to navigate, stay organized, and track incidents. It also helps us see how our controls align with regulatory requirements and industry frameworks.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

The performance is impressive when it comes to real-time monitoring, and the initial setup was straightforward, which is always a plus. The AI features, while promising, are still under development and aren’t consistently reliable across all modules.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us identify and map operational, financial, and IT threats before they impact the business. It also highlights existing weaknesses in our environment and enables us to implement controls quickly. Furthermore, it continuously monitors our company’s compliance with complex international regulations.

 ### 5. Highly Customizable to Fit Your Control Environment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle S. | Manager, Internal Audit, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

It’s highly customizable. You can tailor it to your control environment, and it can be as detailed as your organization needs.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Since it’s so highly customizable, once someone makes a decision or changes standard fields, it’s very hard to get back to the status quo. There’s also a lack of clarity around best practices and how other companies use it to simplify the control environment and enable more efficient usage.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me with SOX testing, SOX program management, and status reporting. It also lets me replace a highly manual process with a more efficient GRC environment.

 ### 6. Streamlined Action Plans with Easy Automation

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I like the ease of use of the platform. The action plan follow-up works great, allowing us to have automatic notifications sent to stakeholders. At a prior company, I appreciated having Excel and Word documents stored in Optro for collaborative access and editing, similar to how you do on Google Docs.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

I think the commenting feature on work papers and test tips could be improved. It would be helpful if comments could be tied to exact words rather than just overall comments on the step. A system similar to commenting on Google Docs or Word documents would enhance this feature.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mostly use Optro for action plan follow-up, with automated notifications to stakeholders. It's easy to use and lets my team keep documents, access, and edit them like Google Docs.

 ### 7. Overall a great user experience and easy to administer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Optro?**

Optro's controls management and ops audit modules are really where the tool excels. It gave businesses the ability to generate a living and always changing risk & controls matrix. It is very straightforward and user friendly for new users.

Additionally, they continue to innovate with new features based on their customer's feedback often.

Recently, they have also made big strides in customer support, leveraging AI which has provided us quicker and more tailored solutions.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

While Optro is fairly flexible, there are some limitations like its control hierarchy in Controls Management. Entity -> Process -> Subprocess really only allows you L2 to L3 process levels and you may not create more process levels than that.

I wish the SOX risk assessment feature was more robust and allowed for more streamlined mapping of control setup and chart of accounts. So currently, we still use Excel to do our scoping. Also, if you have mulitple ERPs with various charts of accounts, this gets more complex and will take hard work to map everything out.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maintaining an inventory of SOX controls that can be actively maintained.
Updates to those controls can be controlled and ownership can be assigned to control / process owners in the system itself.
Dashboards / deficiency reporting is logged and standard built into the tool.

**Official Response from Yoselyn Rea:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback on AuditBoard! We're thrilled to hear that you find our SOXHUB module user-friendly and effective for generating risk and controls matrices. We appreciate your insights on areas such as control hierarchy and team permissioning, we will be sure to pass this along to our product team for consideration in future updates.

 ### 8. Centralized, Trackable Collaboration That Keeps Stakeholders Aligned

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael O. | GRC Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I appreciate the structure it brings to collaboration—multiple stakeholders can contribute (e.g., security, business owner, compliance) while keeping everything centralized and trackable. That visibility helps with prioritization, timelines, and follow-ups, especially when you’re waiting on inputs like questionnaires, assurance docs, or control evidence.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Collaboration is centralized, but not always efficient: Even when everything is in one place, it can still be hard to quickly see who is blocking progress (vendor vs. internal approver), what the exact next action is, and how long something has been sitting—unless the system is consistently updated.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optro is primarily solving the coordination, consistency, and visibility problems that come with risk and vendor-security reviews—especially when multiple stakeholders and lots of evidence are involved.

 ### 9. User-Friendly AuditBoard with All the Features We Need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harry K. | SOX Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I use AuditBoard from Optro. The software is user-friendly and includes all the features needed for audit work.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

I pretty like most of Optro features but when there was a technical issue, it was hard to resolve right away as I wasn't able to find the live assistant.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optro helps us manage our SOX audit program within the company. The workflow within the audit board is straightforward and easy to use, which makes it simpler to keep everything organized.

 ### 10. Streamlined Compliance and Risk Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I like having so many tools to make my job easier integrated into one system. Having all of my policies managed by the same system that houses my audit standards makes it much easier to ensure that everything is covered in policy and that we can easily locate proof at audit time. Being able to connect risk to those same frameworks and policies gives me an even greater sense of confidence in our overall compliance health. I appreciate the level of control given to me over individual permissions.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

The policy management system could use a bit of work. A keyword search within policies would be a huge improvement. Also, the ability to retire/archive a policy with a note on when and why would be helpful, rather than just deleting it and keeping a separate record and archive. I appreciate the level of control given to me over individual permissions, but a more robust profile system that covers basic needs and scenarios would be helpful. It's easy to get in over your head trying to fix a small problem and end up with a mess to sort through.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optro solves information sharing and cross-departmental collaboration issues. It integrates policy management with audit standards, ensuring comprehensive coverage and easy access during audits. Linking risks to frameworks and policies boosts my confidence in compliance health.

 ### 11. Highly Customizable with Excellent Risk Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I like the clean layout, which makes it straightforward and easier to onboard users. The connections between modules make linking an entity to multiple processes easier. I also appreciate the customization options which allow us to set up our Optro platform to align with our business needs and organizational structure.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

While there is a lot of information on the AuditBoard Academy, it is disorganized and hard to know what is up to date, and often lacks sufficient detail to help solve the problem I'm trying to address. There are often multiple ways to achieve the same outcome, but there is not clear guidance on how to do so. The platform is very dynamic, but managing it is difficult without sufficient support or detailed guides.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Optro provides visibility into risks and controls, connects controls across platforms, and organizes information. However, AuditBoard Academy's information is disorganized, lacks detail, and guidance is unclear, which makes managing the platform difficult without sufficient support.

 ### 12. Optro’s Customizable, User-Friendly Workflows That Keep Audits Moving

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

The best thing about Optro is the customization options applicable to your audit methodology and automatic workflow routing which is very simple to use and seamlessly progresses the files. The platform is very user friendly and easy to understand for users. (This review if from a user and not administrator)

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

One thing I think is more related to our audit process where sometimes, we have three layers of reviews but Optro only allows for two levels.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optro has streamlined our audit process and it helps us ensure that our audit files are complete with all the reviews in a timely manner and helps us in readiness for our External Quality Assessments.

 ### 13. Intuitive, feature-rich and industry-leading

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tracy G. | Revenue Cycle Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I love the collaboration tools such as tags. The support and collaboration with the Customer Success Managers really helps us achieve our strategic goals. The new reporting dashboards are so flexible and allow us more control in our reporting.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

In the past, I mentioned that there aren't calculated fields in dashboards but now there are! My only issue I'd like to see is more depending filters where the dropdowns are filtered based on another selection. There is some control but not in all dropdowns.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration. Access to industry expertise. Excellent reporting.

**Official Response from Yoselyn Rea:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Tracy! AuditBoard is designed to make the professional lives of audit, risk, and compliance professionals easier, and we’re so glad it’s helping you and your team collaborate. We’re actively working on new features, and your feedback will help inform those!

 ### 14. A tool for modern audit shops to manage SOX and operational audits

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Optro?**

Optro has finally added the AI-enabled testing capability to its platform with its acquisition of Midship. (After the integration) It should finally be able to compete with all the AI startups that have sprung up in the last 6 - 12 months.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Its interface has not been updated for the last few years and it has become stale. It has very limited reporting capability.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SOX compliance is very documentation intensive and it involves a lot of people within the company as well as outside (contractors and external auditors alike). Having one tool to house all control documentation and audit evidence that can be accessed anywhere and by any authorized users with the proper version controls are facilitated by using AuditBoard.

**Official Response from Yoselyn Rea:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. AuditBoard is designed to make the professional lives of audit, risk, and compliance professionals easier, and we’re so glad it’s providing a centralized location for all SOX documents and controls for you and your team. We’re actively working on new features, and your feedback will help inform those! With respect to your comment on risk assessment functionality, we will be sure to pass this along to our product team for consideration in future updates.

 ### 15. A Versatile One-Stop Shop for Risk, Control Tracking, and Collaboration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I like how its a one stop shop and it can be used for different things and purposes and overall risk and control tracking and testing and work paper uploading and collaboration

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

I think the UI is not the best and it feels very crowded and overwhelming and there is a lot going on on all the pages

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I would say it allowing me to work toigether with my organizaiotn and my team and we are able to deliver high quality audits with all the paperwork on the there and it makes it easy for me team to review and address and tackle things

 ### 16. Optro’s All-in-One GRC Platform with Seamless Module Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

Optro provides an all in one package solution for our GRC requirements providing a centralised platform to house our risks and controls as well as perform testing over these. The interactions between the modules is extremely helpful and ensures that updates to one area are updated throughout the platform

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Optro is on the more expensive side and adding on additional modules to obtain the full functionality can increase the costs. Some of the user functionality could still be improved, although we typically found it was ahead of all of their competitors

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optro provides a central platform for us to document and manage all of our risks and controls which was previously being documented in many overly large excel documents

 ### 17. User-Friendly Audit and SOX Software with Strong Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I like Optro's user-friendliness and the good and available support staff. It saves time for users since any questions can be answered quickly by Optro staff, who can also help us with harder questions like reporting and survey setup. The initial setup was easy, although it did require SMEs from the team to assist with deployment. We switched to Optro primarily because of its user-friendliness compared to what we used before.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

I find the forms for SOX kind of cumbersome, and I think the native reporting, visualizations, and surveys feel a bit 2000's. They are not very advanced, although they are okay for a SaaS.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Optro as our primary audit and SOX software. It handles workflow and testing, saving us time, with support staff ready to assist quickly on complex issues.

 ### 18. Great Audit Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prasanna S. | Sr Auditor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Optro?**

The reason I dropped the rating a little bit is I am working on survey templates and Optro does not have a good branching feature like MS Forms. I would like to have a little more features with Likert in MS Forms would have been helpful

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Having better design and user friendly features in Workstream for surveys would be great.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to have different modules for SOX and OpsAudit

 ### 19. Marketplace discovery that stopped feeling like a treasure hunt

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marta S. | IT Procurement Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

The way Optro surfaces relevant tools and integrations based on actual workflow context rather than generic category browsing has changed how our team approaches finding new solutions. Instead of spending hours evaluating options that turn out to be irrelevant we are landing on genuinely useful tools much faster than before. The curated quality of what gets surfaced has also meant that the tools we discover through Optro tend to be production ready rather than half finished products that look good in a screenshot.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

The coverage of niche industry specific tools is still developing and we occasionally hit gaps where a category we need is underrepresented.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tool discovery and evaluation was an unstructured process in our organisation that consumed significant time without a reliable framework for making decisions. Different teams were independently evaluating overlapping tools and nobody had visibility into what others had already assessed or were currently using. Optro gave us a centralised discovery layer that has reduced duplicated evaluation effort across departments and created more consistency in the tools our teams ultimately adopt which has simplified our IT governance conversations considerably.

 ### 20. Customizable Audit Workflow with Seamless Microsoft Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

The ability to modify the system to reflect our audit process and practices has made us more efficient and consistent as we perform our engagements. The integration with microsoft makes for faster working paper updates and encourages all team members to work within the system. We can have one repository for all supporting documentation.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

The inability to view documents/files in other work steps without having to check in and out of the workpaper.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our planning, fieldwork and reporting phases are well defined and monitored. We have consistency amongst all engagements.

 ### 21. All-in-One Compliance Management That Saves Time and Reduces Errors

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos C. | Head of Projects & Sales, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

The platform’s ability to manage compliance and track findings in one place saves significant time and reduces the chances of errors

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

customisation options are somewhat limited when compared to other platforms

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use AuditBoard in a professional corporate environment to support internal audit, risk management, and compliance activities.
My day-to-day use of AuditBoard includes managing audit plans, documenting control testing, tracking issues and remediation actions, and collaborating with different stakeholders through centralized workflows.

Specifically, I work with Audit planning and execution modules and risk and control documentation

AuditBoard is used as part of ongoing internal audit and governance processes within the organization, supporting compliance and risk oversight. This is firsthand, professional use, not a trial or academic evaluation.

 ### 22. User-Friendly Tool for SOX Control and Managing Audits and Risk Assessments in One Place

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** VIDYASAGARREDDY K. | SOX ITGC Internal Auditor, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I find AuditBoard to be a very simple and user-friendly application. The dashboard is particularly helpful as it allows me to see all project statuses in one place, like submitted, certify, and completed statuses for tests. It's great for managing SOX Control testing and risk registers because I can create tests and easily track details through the dashboard. The initial setup was smooth, thanks to the AuditBoard learning resources, which made it easy to complete tasks like bulk import and document upload.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Giving access to users from only possible from the Bulk import.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use AuditBoard for managing SOX Control Testing and Risk Register, creating tests, and tracking them on a dashboard. It solves issues with risk assessments and consolidates test tracking, unlike our previous tool.

 ### 23. Collaborative Audit Platform with Effective Document Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I like using Optro as our audit platform because it provides a central repository for all our audit documentation. This makes it easy for testers and reviewers to collaborate, and for control owners to review and remediate their issues in a timely manner. I also appreciate its ability to link and reference documents or systems.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

I wish the issues section for deficiencies would show up in the testing outcome sections without having to physically link the issue in the test results.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Optro as a central repository for audit documentation. It facilitates tester and reviewer collaboration and enables control owners to review and remediate issues in a timely manner.

 ### 24. Intuitive Platform That Streamlines Audits and Boosts Efficiency

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara T. | Internal Audit Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Optro?**

What I like best about AuditBoard is how intuitive and user-friendly the platform is. It brings our SOX and operational audits together in one place, which makes collaboration across teams seamless. The automation features save a lot of time by reducing manual work, and the real-time dashboards give great visibility into audit progress and status. Overall, it helps streamline the entire audit process and improves efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Because AuditBoard is such a robust tool, there can be a learning curve for new users to leverage all its features fully. That said, AuditBoard is continuously improving and releasing updates, which helps to address these challenges over time.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AuditBoard solves several key challenges for our audit team. First, it centralizes SOX compliance and operational audits into one platform, eliminating the need for multiple disconnected tools. This improves collaboration and reduces version-control issues. Second, it automates repetitive tasks like PBC requests and testing workflows, which saves significant time and reduces human error. Third, the real-time dashboards and reporting provide visibility into audit progress and risk exposure, making it easier to communicate with stakeholders and leadership. Overall, these benefits allow us to work more efficiently, focus on higher-value activities, and deliver insights faster.

 ### 25. User-Friendly SOCs Compliance, Needs Adaptive AI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda Y. | Head of SOX, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I really like Optro for its ease of use when handling SOCs compliance tasks, which makes the process less daunting. It's a very user-friendly platform, which is great because it cuts down our work time significantly. I appreciate how it connects all our controls, making our operations more streamlined.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

I would like the AI to be a little bit more adaptive.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Optro to house all our documentation and test SOCs controls. It's user-friendly and cuts down on work time, which makes compliance easier for us.

 ### 26. Complex Audit Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Optro?**

We are still engaged with the OpsAudit module. Not much has changed though.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

The suggested improvements were never implemented. The fact that they changed the name of the company and expansion of other tools almost seems that they preferred growth over quality.

**Recommendations to others considering Optro:**

It is really the best tool we have invested in! We have tried others and they don't compare.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We now have all workpapers electronically and tied to each other. We are able to download one project in a matter of seconds.

**Official Response from Yoselyn Rea:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Melissa! AuditBoard is designed to make the professional lives of audit, risk, and compliance professionals easier, and we’re so glad it’s helping you and your team centralize your audit projects. We’re actively working on new features, and your feedback will help inform those!

 ### 27. Helped us run audits in a more structured and trackable way!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lina P. | Internal Audit Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

AuditBoard has been helpful for bringing consistency to audit planning and execution. I like that evidence requests testing and follow ups stay organized instead of living in emails and scattered files. The workflows make it easier to assign ownership and track progress across multiple audits at the same time. It also improves visibility for stakeholders because status is clear and we spend less time chasing updates.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Some parts take time to configure the way you want especially when setting up templates.Reporting is good but certain views can feel slower when the dataset grows.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Earlier our audit work relied heavily on spreadsheets and manual tracking which made it easy to miss details. AuditBoard centralizes workpapers evidence and documentation so audits are easier to manage and review. This has reduced rework improved accountability and made it easier to stay compliant. It also helps during handoffs because everything is documented clearly.

 ### 28. Streamlines Audit and Compliance with Ease

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhinav Y.

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I really like how AuditBoard brings clarity, structure, and efficiency to complex audit and compliance processes. The centralized dashboard and intuitive interface make it easy for me to track multiple audits, risks, and issues without feeling overwhelmed. I appreciate features like automated workflows, task assignments, and progress tracking, which help keep everyone accountable and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. The way AuditBoard organizes documentation and evidence is also a huge time-saver, making it simple to attach files, maintain version control, and generate consistent reports for leadership or external auditors. The collaboration tools are great for seamlessly working with different teams, gathering inputs, and resolving issues quickly. Additionally, I value the platform's flexibility, allowing me to tailor workflows and reporting to match our organization’s specific needs, which makes day-to-day work smoother and much less stressful.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

While I find AuditBoard extremely useful, there are a few areas where I think it could be improved. At times, moving between different modules or dashboards feels a bit clunky, especially when I’m managing multiple audits or dealing with large amounts of data. Some of the reporting features, although powerful, could be more intuitive creating highly customized reports often takes extra steps or manual tweaks. I’ve also noticed that for new team members who aren’t familiar with audit software, the learning curve can be a bit steep, making onboarding longer than I’d like. Additionally, while notifications and reminders are helpful, having more control over them would prevent information overload. Overall, AuditBoard works really well, but improving navigation, report flexibility, and user guidance would make the experience even smoother.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use AuditBoard to centralize audit, risk, and compliance activities, solving organization, visibility, and efficiency challenges. It consolidates data and workflows, strengthens accountability, and standardizes documentation, reducing manual effort and ensuring smooth, reliable processes.

 ### 29. AuditBoard Streamlines Audit & Risk Management with Centralized, Time-Saving Workflows

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikita J. | Programmer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

Auditboard makes audit and risk management much more organized and transparent. I like how everything is centralized in one place, which improves collaboration, tracking, and reporting. The dashboard and workflow automation save time and reduce manual effort.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Some features have a learning curve, especially for new users. Performance can occasionally feel show, and certain configuration or reports could be more flexible and custamizable. Better in-app guidance would also help.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AuditBoard helps solve issues around fragments audit, risk and compliance process by bringing everything into a single platform. It improves visibility, standardizes workflows, and reduces manual tracking in spreadsheets. This helps me save time, stay compliant, and collaborate more effectively across teams.

 ### 30. Great solution!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael P. | Vice President, Internal Audit, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Optro?**

Simple single source of information that syncs throughout the documentation. You can enter the information at the control level which will then appear throughout testing. The drag and drop ability makes attaching documents very easy to manage, especially when dealing with multiple control owners. The support team at AuditBoard is very attentive and there for us whenever we need them, and we use them significantly for mass uploading of information. They also are very open to suggestions when we offer solutions to some of the hurdles that we are facing.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

The Narrative templates are not quite designed to be effective for editing/distribution and printing. We have found it more effective to use Word and attach the document in SOXHUB, but that removes the hashtag ability to pull information in from the control details.

**Recommendations to others considering Optro:**

I would highly recommend AuditBoard for any size audit function. I have used other software in the past and they seem to be primarily geared to larger audit functions that are internationally based. AuditBoard (SOXHUB) can handle that wide range but also easy enough to use for a smaller audit function.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The business documentation requests (PBCs) are facilitated much easier which includes tracking and reminders. The various frameworks are integrated to ensure coverage, such as COSO and COBIT as well as for risk management. The workflow for testing and review is very efficient allowing us to stay on track and know exactly what the status is for all cycles that we are testing. We also use the archiving capability often since our controls are changing year over year and we need to refer back to the prior year for guidance.

 ### 31. AuditBoard: Best in Class for Risk Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keather W. | Internal Audit Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I have been using AuditBoard for about five years now and I truly love it. As a risk and controls professional, I find the usability of AuditBoard to be fantastic. The thought and innovation that AuditBoard brings to its software and at their conferences are best in class, making it a no-brainer choice for us. The connected risk environment that it offers stood out during our RFP process, especially when compared to other big competitors like Workiva and AutoFort. The AI feature integrated within the platform helps drive the wording of our controls within our risk control matrix, removing much of the manual work and allowing us to focus on more critical or risky areas. AuditBoard also helps with the transparency of our risks, maintaining the general status of our controls, and keeping the three lines of defense connected. Additionally, the seamless integration with Microsoft Office is invaluable, making it effortless to update Word and Excel with audit and supporting documentation. I highly appreciate the ongoing relationship with our customer success manager and the sales team, which strengthens our collaboration beyond just the initial sales process.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

I feel like AuditBoard is growing a little too fast, and as a result, the service ticket process is becoming more AI-generated rather than involving human interaction. While AI can make responses quicker, they aren't as effective or helpful. This shift can impact the quality of support I receive when I need assistance.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AuditBoard improves risk transparency and connectivity among our defense lines, streamlining controls with AI to reduce manual work, allowing focus on critical risk areas.

**Official Response from Yoselyn Rea:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Keather! AuditBoard is designed to make the professional lives of audit, risk, and compliance professionals easier, and we’re so glad it’s helping you and your team automate manual tasks. We’re actively working on new features, and your feedback will help inform those!

 ### 32. Smooth Workflow Functionality That Just Works

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

Smooth functionality between various workflows

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

The only thing I dislike is not having an internal Admin that can help me get more out of Optro :) I have to wait in line to get any customizations done.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optro AI is helping my team thoroughly craft testing descriptions.

 ### 33. User-Friendly Connected Platform with Helpful AI Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

User friendly UI with performance of SaaS. Connected platform for risk and control functions in the organization. AI features are helpful.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Dashboarding can be a little challenging based on need since the tool is limited by the underlying provider for reporting features.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps with control automation and risk management

 ### 34. Great for Audit Automation, But Needs Better Risk Assessment Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thi N. | Director, internal audit, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I really appreciate how I can automate reviews and help streamline the execution of our audits.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

I find it frustrating that the platform does not make it easy to conduct annual internal audit risk assessments. It fails to incorporate our previous year's residual risk inputs, which makes it difficult to compare them with current results. Additionally, it does not clearly integrate the issues identified during risk assessments and completed internal audits.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This platform helps us conduct our audits more effectively and efficiently by centralising everything in one place. It enables us to automate our workflow, so we receive notifications when something is ready for review and can quickly send it back to the repairer. By using this system, we reduce the need for internal notifications through other channels. It also allows us to collaborate and work together in real time with minimal latency.

 ### 35. Intuitive Design and Centralized SOX Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shahid H.

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I love how AuditBoard has a very intuitive design for end-users, making it easy to navigate. It's modern and pleasing to use, not looking 'clunky' at all. I also found the initial setup to be pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

There are a few improvements that various team members have suggested. The 'views' in the new reporting platform should have better management, like allowing folders or subsections for various teams so the list doesn't look very cluttered. Also, there should be better visibility of who created a view, when, and why (notes). Additionally, when users navigate to a view and take a deeper dive, going back to the previous screen resets everything and the user has to start over again. Additionally, when drilling down in source data, there should be links to go to an object (control or issues or task, etc.). For Risk Oversight, there could be more improvements for entity level risk assessments.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AuditBoard provides a central location for SOX compliance and risk management data. It's intuitive and modern, making navigation easy and pleasant.

 ### 36. Streamlined Audit Efficiency with User-Friendly Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob P. | Senior Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I like using AuditBoard because it is easy to use and simple to set up and navigate. As an external auditor, I appreciate that I don't need to waste unnecessary hours tracking items down, as the dashboard streamlines efficiency for me. It allows the engagement team to log the status of request items during audit periods, which is very beneficial.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

At first, it was the access that I was granted. However, once the admin adjusted my credentials and permissions, I was able to utilize the tool more efficiently.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AuditBoard allows my engagement team to log the status of request items, streamlining efficiency so I don't waste unnecessary hours tracking items down.

 ### 37. Intuitive and Comprehensive Audit Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily K.

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I love how user-friendly AuditBoard is. As one of the administrators, I find it really easy to go in and add or remove fields and create new audit templates for different projects like continuous monitoring and regulatory reviews. AuditBoard also solves consistency problems for us, ensuring that all audits are completed in a consistent manner. The AI capabilities have been a real boon, helping our teams with consistent report and issues drafting. Overall, I love AuditBoard and recommend it to anyone that I hear is looking for a new tool.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

In exploring annotate it would be helpful to have review notes linked within the documents that are being reviewed. Additionally, since we don't use the workstream platform, we would look for more easy use ways to connect our outside partners (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow) into our platform and the way we use it. I think it would be helpful to have some self-create dashboards in the platform as well, not just the canned dashboards.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AuditBoard solves consistency problems in audits and is user-friendly. It helps ensure all audits are completed uniformly and provides guardrails for audits. It also facilitates consistent report and issues drafting, and I love how easy it is to manage and enhance audit templates.

**What do you like best about Optro?**

Workstream uses; user friendliness for audit team and client which helped improve productivity, saving time for audit team and client

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Pricing and implementation for the controls module automation are my main concerns. I’d prefer this to be offered as a flexible tool we can use as we choose, rather than having it built for specific controls by Optro.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The are very responsive to any question I have submitted. They response quickly and resolve issues timely.

Tracking and managing issue remediation is straightforward, and performing risk assessments in the tool is effective. What I like most is the continuous improvement of the tool and the new features that are being rolled out, which really enhances its usability.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Some functionality is in early stages and makes it difficult to use, including things like resource planner and some of the newer proposed functionality.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AuditBoard helps us manage SOX and operational audits from planning to completion, enables effective resource deployment, issue tracking, and real-time dashboarding for business partners.

 ### 45. Great User Experience (Even the Auditees Love it)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Optro?**

Have you ever heard an auditee being pleased with being audited? Ours are and mostly because we have made it super easy for them to understand their controls and engage them in the overall process through the most user-friendly auditing platform, AuditBoard. We just recently implemented and the response has been very positive among the user community. We have one single hub for all risks and controls. The workflow capability makes it well-integrated where the auditees can go to their dashboards and make a one-stop shop for all things risks and controls.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

I am a CPA so cost is always an area that can be improved. We would like it to be less costly so that it becomes a no-brainer for all audit organizations. We had to build a business case and it was a hard sell because of its price so hopefully as they dominate the market, they can lower their cost and it will be a win-win.

**Recommendations to others considering Optro:**

You won't regret it.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Certifications, accountability, real-time visibility, connecting policies to frameworks and controls, changing the control culture, etc.
Very important is dashboards and reporting to management and the Audit Committee.

I appreciate how AuditBoard centralizes all my audit items, making it easier to maintain and access critical information in one place. The customization capabilities stand out to me as highly valuable, as they allow me to tailor the experience to better fit my specific needs. I find the features related to document requests, organized libraries, and risk management particularly beneficial, assisting in streamlining these processes efficiently. The risk assessments and workstreams are tools I highly value, as they enhance my ability to manage and evaluate risks effectively. Furthermore, the initial setup was quite easy thanks to the supportive implementation team, which made the transition to using the software smooth and straightforward. Overall, these attributes collectively reinforce my positive experience with AuditBoard.

 ### 47. Streamlined Our Audits with Unmatched Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maddie V. | Internal Auditor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I find AuditBoard incredibly useful for our Internal Audit team, particularly in managing SOX and operational audits. The system's ease of documentation is remarkably beneficial, as it creates a seamless experience across different types of audits, ensuring a consistent feel between SOX and Operational audits. This not only enhances the effectiveness of documentation but also saves a considerable amount of time for my team. Additionally, I appreciate the system's ability to track edits efficiently, which is crucial for maintaining restricted control over our documentation. I value knowing exactly who made changes and when, as it supports our control needs. The integration with Excel and Word through AuditBoard sync further boosts our productivity by allowing seamless operations with these essential tools. Overall, the transition from our previous method, especially for operational audits, greatly adds value by improving our documentation and review processes, which previously lacked a systematic approach.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

Within the SOX hub, when looking at the archive from a previous year, I find it challenging that the workstream requests (PBC requests) linked to each control do not show up. This necessitates going into the workstream to see old ones, which complicates the retrieval process of past audits.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use AuditBoard to streamline audit documentation and maintain control by tracking edits effectively, which saves my team time. It integrates SOX and operational audits seamlessly, replacing previous manual processes.

**Official Response from Yoselyn Rea:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with AuditBoard, Maddie! We're thrilled to hear that you found the implementation process simple and that our support team was able to assist you in customizing the site to meet your needs. We're also glad to hear that the training videos helped you easily learn how to use AuditBoard's features. We’re actively working on new features, and your feedback will help inform those!

 ### 48. Streamlined Risk Management with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew L.

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I appreciate AuditBoard for its seamless integration with internal audit processes, which enhances the efficiency of our enterprise risk management. The dashboard feature is another aspect that stands out to me, offering good visual representations that facilitate better understanding and tracking of risks. I find these features provide significant cross-functional value to our team, enabling us to work more collaboratively and effectively.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

I've had issues with cross-functional permissions which have been challenging to enable certain aspects. This has hindered the setup and efficient use of AuditBoard for my needs. There needs to be better permissioning when setting up AuditBoard for smoother operation across teams. Additionally, during the initial setup, not all data was in a compatible format when transitioning from Excel, requiring extra configuration effort on my part.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use AuditBoard for reporting and tracking risks, risk assessment, and integrating with internal audit, which provides cross-functional value to our team.

 ### 49. AuditBoard review

**What do you like best about Optro?**

I like that everything is all in one place and you can share information quickly and easily with the business. It is very collaborative. AuditBoard is always willing to take feedback and add new features that make the platform even better/easier.

**What do you dislike about Optro?**

The only real downside to AuditBoard is the cost. That being said, for the money it is the best platform to use for SOX and operational audits.

**What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to use AuditBoard to keep all of our SOX environment in one place, including updating process flows, complete and review testing, document and track all issues, and keep the business updated on our progress and anything else needed. It really helps to have all process flows in one place where the business has easy access to make changes as needed.
