"Lightweight and ease of entry"
5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

Besides being a free product, Audacity is a relatively quick and lightweight application that gets the job done without getting mired in extra little-used features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

Since Audacity is freeware, the support services are different and more self-serve than a paid software product. This is typically not an issue depending on the ability of the user to find solutions if a problem arises. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I love Audacity and rely on it for my podcast"
5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

Its so easy to use you can teach yourself. It's truly brilliant, fast, simple and free. It takes no time to load and learn and you can create podcasts in minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

Nothing. It's literally perfect. There isn't anything I would change about audacity. However, I have seen very little benefit from the updates released recently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid recording interface that you will use for life!"
5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

Audacity is easy to record into, using pretty much any microphone. Editing is intuitive and user-friendly. The effects library is great, particularly the noise reduction feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

Sometimes zooming in and out of different zones is a bit disorienting. However, this is not a deal-breaker; there's not much that I dislike! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Straightforward tool"
4/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

It's reliable (it never fails, always a last resort when any other tool crashed) and it's really straightforward to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

It only has audio features, if you could record video as well it'd be useful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easiest tool to record, cut-paste, and edit audios"
5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

Audacity makes it very easy for the user to record audios and edit them in real time. I have also had instances where I had to cut paste single words from one audio file into another. Since you can take care of the pauses and add or delete them per your wish, you can render almost natural-flowing audios with this tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

The desktop application needs to be a little more intuitive. New users can have some challenges looking at all the icons and not knowing what exactly needs to be done to get a certain function working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very light, smooth and performant"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

It is light. Uses less space, very easy to understand and use. It is also highly performant. Its interface is easy to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

It has quite an old interface; I think recently they have not worked on this aspect. Also, there are limited codecs, encoders and plugins to make the software interactive with file formats Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lots of features, and you can't beat the price"
5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

The price (free!) is the best feature, but the software is not crippled by any means. Users can edit, blend, and apply special effects to most any sound files, then export them into a format suited for the intended use. Stereo tracks can be rendered in mono, if desired. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

The software has a significant learning curve, and there is no user's manual to speak of. There is a large user community one can rely on for crowdsourced tech support, but you shouldn't expect a quick answer. Your best shot at resolving a problem is to hope that someone had the same problem before you did and posted a question about it to the user community.

You'll also find that some add-in software is needed to create or convert certain file formats. Usually, the software will report that you need this or that add-in to create the format you want, and tells you where to find it. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries before the software is configured to do what you need it to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Free Game changer Audio Editing Tool"
5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

Audacity is a free and open-source audio editing software with lots of features. It is easy to use and install. I used it to reduce the background noise, which was very irritating. Audacity saves my time and effort with this noise reduction feature. We can also tune our voice by audacity for better presentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

Sometimes it distorts my voice after using the noise reduction feature, but it's ok. We can solve it by tuning the voice with some EQ features. Otherwise, there are no flaws in audacity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very easy to use and popular for it's great specifications."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

I like its vital feature the best: multi-track recording and user-friendly interface. Additionally, its waveforms are more accurate than other audio processing software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

The one thing I don't like about Audacity is that some bugs can be why the program is unstable; plus, it does not offer virtual instrument functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing Audio Editing Software"
4/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

Audacity is great! I can easily record right from multiple microphones straight into the program for editing. Audacity also has a lot of cool and handy features! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

Audacity has a pretty steep learning curve for some of the more useful features. It also doesn't come with all the features, we have had to download 3rd party plugins to this app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
