It was too big a draw on my computer's resources - it used too much memory and crashed my computer. It didn't run well. It had a hard time loading. It had a hard time processing. I needed easy and low key, and instead it required too much. Not easy. The whole organization does not need Loom as of now but if i could use loom as a trainer and leader, it could become one of our main pathways of communicating. **What do you dislike about Loom?** There are so many spaces that allow you to edit a video but loom restricts that. It's not even an advancted feature but it is on loom. At least you could allow the feature option for requiring authentification. That way there's an opportunity for more users for you and an opportunity for a user to see who is watching the video. **What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is solving the opportunity to save time by not havnig as many meetings but unfortunately you can't really take account of who is viewing the communication. ### 5. For instance, despite being a paying subscriber and the admin of my workspace, I cannot delete videos uploaded by former team members. This lack of administrative control is frustrating and, frankly, unreasonable for a product marketed as a collaborative tool. Moreover, there is no way to share folders with other paying Loom subscribers outside my workspace. In comparable services like Dropbox, this is a standard, basic feature, yet it remains unavailable in Loom. Sharing with non-Loom subscribers is another cumbersome process that seems to ignore real-world usage needs. Every time I raise these issues with customer service, I am directed to “vote” for these essential features, as though they are optional add-ons rather than fundamental functionality. The difference between a basic requirement and a “nice-to-have” should be clear, and it’s concerning that Loom seems to rely on user votes for essential updates. In summary, Loom appears indifferent to the practical needs of its users, prioritizing minor upgrades over core functionality. Given the availability of emerging alternatives, I intend to move away from Loom, as its poor product development and lack of responsiveness no longer inspire confidence. **What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you?** Showing how a task should be done and being able to share the link without having to save that file. ### 6. The actual functionality was not great. SOPs full of errors that required about as much time to edit as it would take to write them from scratch. Downgraded from the Ai as soon as we realized this. Not worth the extra $96 or whatever we paid for the year. **What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you?** Saves time in meetings or enhances emails internally. ### 7. It's not really helps me. ### 9. the annoying daily update notifications led to me uninstalling it **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Chris C. | Sr. Customer Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2023 **What do you like best about Loom?** Loom works well to quickly record and share videos. **What do you dislike about Loom?** The constant desktop app notifications to udpate (daily) interrupted my focus, hijacked my computer inputs, and drove me crazy to the point that I uninstalled the desktop app. Now I probably won't use it as much because I used the features that were *only* available on the desktop app. I was using Loom to record a video maybe once or twice per week, but the daily interruptions on my computer to update the software (interruptions which can't be turned off or configured) are so annoying that I've uninstalled the app. It's doing more harm to my focus and workflow than good. I hate being in the middle of typing an email or document, or trying to browse code, and being forced to update some completely unrelated software. **What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's a fast solution to record and share recordings. ### 10. As soon as my 12 months were up I cancelled the service and won't be using them again. More nuanced security settings would be helpful along with the ability to share folders with a team rather than individuals or the whole organziation. **What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you?** Loom has saved a ton of staff time around training and has ensured that no matter which staff member leaves, we don't lose the institutional knowledge that we need to thrive. ### 11. The concept is great. **What do you dislike about Loom?** The platform is too glitchy and, more frequently than not I have to restart it several times. I also don't like that he basic version no longer supports download of the video that I recorded. The glitches in the interface cause to appear cumbersome to the user. **What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you?** Previously, Loom was my go to for quick videos to drop into presentations. ### 12. Despite testing the mic and audio function using several meeting platforms and another recording software, I have several times made a complete video and found that no audio was picked up. There is no sound meter to advise that nothing is coming through, and the support knowledge base on their website is unintuitive and lacking in depth. The audio troubleshooting page has links that don't work - how incredibly frustrating when you're already searching for a solution to an issue. **What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is often quicker to record a quick video response or tutorial than to write a lengthy email and trying to capture applicable screenshots, and one video can serve several purposes. A video clip garners and keeps recipients' attention much better then text, and it's easy to show our internal Product team an issue when a recording is available. ### 14. As someone with brain fog secondary to my disability, having access to recordings and transcripts that are easily searchable is IDEAL. The price was also extremely reasonable! **What do you dislike about Loom?** I work in Social Media, and use a Chromebook, which has constant bugs. Using the Windows laptop doesn't seem to be much better, and using chrome and desktop app to record the same meeting still often yields no video and/or no transcript. I needed to get a transcript for a 2 minute news spot for a client that took me 7 times recording before I had a video with a transcript, and then I had to take the transcript out of Loom and in to Google Docs to edit acuratley-- I would have spent less time to replaying the video and doing it myself. It's simply become unreliable, and I am sadly looking at other alternatives because of the number of issues I have had. I *REALLY* wish there were not so many bugs because I *WANT* to rave about this product! **What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you?** Accessing issues because of memory issues connected to a disability, recording traniings, conferences and meetings. ### 16.
