Atlassian Atlas was a teamwork directory designed to enhance team communication and alignment by connecting the dots across teams, their applications, and work, regardless of where it occurred. It provided a shared language for teams to clarify their objectives and responsibilities, ensuring full visibility into project ownership and team involvement. Stakeholders could easily access detailed information, track work progress, and stay updated on status changes, deadlines, and contributors. Key Features and Functionality: - Unified Project Tracking: Atlas offered a centralized platform for monitoring project statuses, deadlines, and team contributions, facilitating seamless collaboration. - Cross-Application Integration: It integrated with various tools and applications, allowing teams to manage work across different platforms without context-switching. - Concise Status Updates: Teams could provide brief, Twitter-like 280-character updates, ensuring efficient and clear communication. - Stakeholder Visibility: Atlas ensured that all stakeholders had access to up-to-date information, promoting transparency and informed decision-making. Primary Value and User Solutions: Atlas addressed the challenge of maintaining alignment and transparency in cross-functional teams by providing a centralized hub for project information and updates. It eliminated information silos, reduced the need for constant meetings, and enabled teams to stay informed asynchronously. By offering a clear overview of who is working on what and why, Atlas empowered organizations to improve collaboration, streamline communication, and enhance overall productivity. As of April 2024, Atlas has been retired as a standalone product, with its core features integrated into Atlassian's Platform Experiences, making them accessible to all Atlassian users.

"Centralized Project Visibility with a Clean, Easy-to-Navigate Interface"

5/5

What do you like best about Atlassian Atlas?

What I like most about Atlassian Atlas is that it gives a centralized view of project goals, status updates, and overall team progress. At Nexford University, it improved visibility across different initiatives by making it easier to see what teams were working on and how each project aligned with broader organizational objectives. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, and the status reporting features make it straightforward to stay informed without needing to sit through multiple meetings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Atlassian Atlas?

There isn’t much I dislike about Atlassian Atlas. That said, one area that could be improved is offering more customization options for project views and reporting. Also, new users may need a bit of time to get familiar with all the features and to understand how Atlas integrates with other Atlassian products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Atlassian Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?

Atlassian Atlas helps address the challenge of keeping teams aligned on priorities and project progress. By offering a single place to share project updates, goals, and status reports, it reduces communication gaps and makes it easier to see how day-to-day work connects to broader organizational objectives. As a result, it improves transparency, supports collaboration, and increases overall project visibility across teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Task Assignment and Progress Tracking for Teams"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Atlassian Atlas?

It’s easy to assign tasks to the team, and you can monitor progress easily. It’s also simple to comment and get feedback. You can create different types of projects, and as many as you want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Atlassian Atlas?

Sometimes, configuring the board can be difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Atlassian Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before using Atlassian Atlas, we struggled with fragmented task management and limited visibility across projects. With Atlassian Atlas, we can now structure work from high level goals down to detailed tasks in a very transparent way. This has significantly improved team alignment and ownership.

The platform’s clean and intuitive UI makes it easy for both technical and non-technical team members to navigate and collaborate without a steep learning curve.

One of the biggest advantages is its seamless integration with tools like Microsoft Teams and Figma. This allows our team to collaborate, communicate, and manage work within a connected ecosystem rather than switching between multiple platforms.

In terms of impact, we’ve seen improved workflow efficiency, faster task tracking, and better cross-team collaboration. Overall, it has reduced confusion, increased visibility, and helped us deliver projects more effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Clarity for Cross-Team Collaboration"

5/5

What do you like best about Atlassian Atlas?

Atlassian Atlas is how it finally gives structure and clarity to cross-team work without feeling heavy or intrusive. Instead of chasing people down in Slack or email for updates, Atlas provides a single place where teams can share progress, blockers, decisions, and plans in a way that actually makes sense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Atlassian Atlas?

it can feel a bit redundant if teams aren’t disciplined about where they update status. Because it’s another place to share progress, it sometimes ends up overlapping with Jira comments, Slack, or Confluence notes — which can make people wonder where the “source of truth” Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Atlassian Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?

It solves the issue of too many meetings just to get updates. Instead of daily or weekly sync calls just to ask “what’s the status?”, teams can share short, meaningful updates asynchronously. Leaders and stakeholders can check progress anytime without interrupting the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how Atlassian Atlas houses all the information in one central place, making it easy to navigate and search for the information you're looking for. The initial setup was easy, and my team finds it straightforward to use when they need more information on how to complete the correct process. I don’t have any complaints about the system and switched from Monday because it was too messy to manage. I would likely recommend Atlassian Atlas, rating it a 9 out of 10. "Effortless Team Alignment and Seamless Integrations"

5/5

What do you like best about Atlassian Atlas?

What I like most about Atlassian Atlas is how effortlessly it keeps everyone aligned without adding extra work. The weekly digest updates, project health indicators, and clear goal tracking make it incredibly easy for teams to stay on the same page. I also love how Atlas integrates seamlessly with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Slack, so updates flow automatically without manual reporting. It reduces meetings, improves transparency, and gives leadership a real-time snapshot of progress across teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Atlassian Atlas?

While Atlas is a powerful alignment tool, I think there’s still room for improvement in customization options. Some of the reporting visuals and fields feel a bit limited, and adding more flexibility could make tracking even more insightful. Additionally, for new users, the initial setup can feel slightly overwhelming until they get familiar with the ecosystem. However, these are minor issues compared to the overall value it provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Atlassian Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?

Atlassian Atlas solves one of the biggest challenges in cross-functional teams: keeping everyone aligned on project goals, progress, and ownership without endless meetings or manual updates. It centralizes all project updates in one place and provides simple, high-level visibility for stakeholders, which saves a huge amount of time. For me, the biggest benefit is clarity. Instead of chasing updates across emails, Slack threads, and spreadsheets, Atlas gives a unified view of what’s happening, who’s responsible, and whether projects are on track. This transparency helps reduce miscommunication, speeds up decision-making, and ensures the entire organization stays aligned with overall business goals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
