I used Atlas.ti for qualitative data analysis in an annual report of a company. It is easy to do the quantitative data analysis but it does not consider other qualitative aspects. We can use coding to create different groups and then keep allotting various relevant sentences in the report to the groups, which they fit best for. In the end, we can refer to the groups for relevant information. Atlas.ti has made it simpler to compare different companies. Earlier, we used to compare different companies only by comparing which company is doing good financially. Some companies manage to do good financially but lack when it comes to their social obligation or management structure. The software has made it easy to compile the important non-financial information at one place and then compare the qualitative information of all the different companies. This takes a lot of time and effort. Also, the user interface could have been better. For people like me who do not belong to a technical background, it takes time to understand the coding process.
