Astah SysML is a desktop modeling tool for SysML v1, developed by Change Vision, Inc. It is designed for systems engineers and teams practicing model-based systems engineering (MBSE) who need a lightweight alternative to enterprise MBSE suites. Key features: - SysML v1 diagrams, including block definition, requirement, and parametric diagrams - Requirements modeling with traceability to system design elements - Profiles and stereotypes for extending SysML - AI Chat Copilot for creating and editing diagrams with natural-language prompts - Built-in MCP server that lets external AI agents read and work with Astah models - SysMLv2 Editor, a Visual Studio Code extension for SysML v2 textual modeling, included with the license AI features use the customer's own API key for OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or Google Gemini; Azure OpenAI is not supported in version 11. API usage is billed by the AI provider. Scope: Astah SysML supports SysML v1 and does not include simulation. Safety analysis notations such as GSN and STAMP/STPA are available in Astah System Safety. Platforms: Windows and macOS (Linux is not supported). Desktop application, not SaaS; models are stored as local files and the tool works offline. Licensing: annual subscription and annual floating license, and included in the Faculty Site License for education. A free trial is available.
