Great Choice for Flexible QMS/PMQA **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2024 **What do you like best about AssurX?** AssurX's product CATSWeb is a great QMS/PMQA targeted system with direct integration to the FDA's MedWatch program. It's simple to use, can be modified quickly & easily based on specific group needs, and has excellent record management including an audit trail containing complete record history. The application is great (and reasonabily priced), but the support is stellar. AssurX provides far and away the best support I have ever received from a production product. There's a dedicated support team that are more like partners to me. Over the years, we've developed real relationships and worked through some serious challenges - it's not a revolving door of outsourced support and auto-reply links to unrelated "knowledge base" articles. This is incredibly refreshing. **What do you dislike about AssurX?** Having used the product for a number of years now I understand why certain design choices were made, but sometimes navigating the management area of CATSWeb can be a little klunky (think of open browser tabs). They have, however, made improvements to this over the years and it's far from a show stopper. **What problems is AssurX solving and how is that benefiting you?** All our medical device complaints are handled via CATSWeb which has made reporting to the FDA orders of magnitude simplier. We track products and complaints, report on and analyze trends, and have an easily auditable source of truth for our regulatory requirements. ### 2. The biggest upside has been the ability to do away with the paperbased format we had and the ability to completely collaborate on document updates through the system has been a game changer as far as saving time. Electronic signatures have also been a big plus considering we no longer have to chase people down to sign-off on anything. **What do you dislike about AssurX?** There isn't really much to dislike about AssurX but, if I had to pick one thing it would be the delay in converting word documents to PDF files. I'm sure this only happens as a result of the massive quantity of documents we've uploaded into the system and the wait isn't really that long, maybe a few seconds. Still very manageable. **What problems is AssurX solving and how is that benefiting you?** Time consumption. With the ability to distribute everything elctranically and the escalation rules in place, we no longer have to wait on people to complete their tasks. The automated reminders send out emails to all responsible parties which againa helps out with not having to track people down. ### 4. Using the Dev site as a template you can test out everything before migrating over to Production and know it'll be right. **What do you dislike about AssurX?** When a Form is part of an SOP, but they're 2 separate documents in the system, it's not possible to have the same number auto-generated for both (FRM-1234 and SOP-1234). The ability to generate fillable forms is also tricky **What problems is AssurX solving and how is that benefiting you?** They've configured the system so that when training on something via web-link (through an internal document) and a certificate is generated, I can now upload the certificate as a [art of the training task, to my AssurX training profile. The learning curve to support changes is steep, again it's enterprise level sw that requires a trained super user to configure well. **What problems is AssurX solving and how is that benefiting you?** Managing corrective actions, non-conforming material, customer return/repairs, process/product deviations, certificate of conformance, internal audits. maintaining records of actions, aggregating/trending failures across products and parts. ### 6. I can call a person, directly, and get them on the phone and helping me out in minutes. THAT kind of support isn't common. **What do you dislike about AssurX?** As a partner, I don't have a lot that I dislike about working with AssurX. **What problems is AssurX solving and how is that benefiting you?** AssurX helps us maintain our FDA-compliant complaints database, submit data to the FDA, and report on our medical devices. They've helped us add automation necessary for our complaint submission workflow. ### 7. With various tools and scripting makes the software flexible and very customizable. Various services are offered to help grow and develop your solutions. Dashboards can be configured to show various reports, metrics and kpi's. Software is used across various industries which makes it a robust solution. **What do you dislike about AssurX?** With the flexibility and number of options offered which are great, requires you to have refined and robust business processes to make use of the software. You need to show great discipline in not over customizing the software. Interface is clunky. The parent Child relationships between issues and actions can be cumbersome for suers. **Recommendations to others considering AssurX:** Make sure you have a robust and well-documented business process and requirements. There are so many different ways to use the solution you can easily incorporate wasteful processes and bad habits. **What problems is AssurX solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mainly for nonconformance reporting and CAPA management. We have linked our accounts payable email account for supplier related nonconformances to debit suppliers on future shipments. ### 12. They want the customer to be able to configure new forms and workflows without having to contact them for everything **What do you dislike about AssurX?** Using Crystal Reports for reporting is difficult. **Recommendations to others considering AssurX:** The system is easy to use and configure. It can connect to virtually any data source and its built in security capabilities keep unauthorized personnel form seeing specific data.
