AssetLoom Network Scanner is a free network scanner for IT teams, system administrators, and MSPs who need an accurate picture of every device on their network. It is a standalone command-line tool for agentless network discovery. AssetLoom builds it, but it works entirely on its own. You do not need an AssetLoom account, a subscription, or any other AssetLoom product to use it. Most network discovery tools ask for something first, whether that is an agent on every endpoint, admin credentials, or a cloud upload of your scan data. AssetLoom Network Scanner asks for none of that. You run it locally, it scans the network you point it at, and the results stay on your machine. No agents to deploy. No credentials to hand over. No data leaving your network. The scanner combines six discovery methods in a single run, working as an IP scanner and port scanner in one. ARP and ICMP find live hosts. TCP checks detect open ports. DNS, NetBIOS, and mDNS resolve hostnames and help identify each device. Together they return the details that matter for network inventory, including IP addresses, MAC addresses, hostnames, hardware vendors, open ports, and device types. Every scan can be exported as CSV or JSON. You can drop the results into a spreadsheet, import them into an IT asset management tool or CMDB, compare scans over time, or feed them into your own scripts. The scanner fits the inventory process you already have instead of forcing a new one. Common uses include building a first IT asset inventory, finding unknown or rogue devices before an audit, checking which ports are exposed on a subnet, documenting a network for a new client, and confirming that your asset records still match what is actually connected. Run it on networks you own or are authorized to scan. AssetLoom Network Scanner is free for anyone managing a network, whether or not you use AssetLoom for anything else. If you later want to track the devices you discover through their full lifecycle, AssetLoom is available, but the scanner never requires it.
