**What do you like best about Assembla?**

Integrated ticket and repository, with both seamlessly integrated it makes it easy to manage tickets and code repos.

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

Ticket management could be easier, but I do need to explore upgrades that have been made like card walls and such.

**Recommendations to others considering Assembla:**

Start out with minimal tools like tickets and repos, then add more like wikis and such.

**What problems is Assembla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing software feature and bugs, with clients. Many of my clients were either maintaining spreadsheets or using systems hosted internally (and thus hard to access or not feature rich), so I’ve steered them to Assembla.

**What do you like best about Assembla?**

Ticket tracking system, with the due date facility and the instant update on any new event related to your ticket. To check any archive code commit the log  in Assembla is very useful. The ability to create your customize filter is also a very useful feature.

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

In sprint wise ticket list, the filter options are not so effective.

**Recommendations to others considering Assembla:**

For sprint wise ticket list, more option should be provided to filter the tickets by user in a particular year.

To check the code version. To manage activities on my ticket.

**What do you like best about Assembla?**

I like:
1. how I can upload files, images, pieces of code in comments;
2. track my work time. My company developed a way to monthly extract employee's financial statement. To do that we created tickets for holidays, company meetings, marcketing events and so on;


**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

Sometimes I need to look for closed ticket and the reaserch methods are not easy at all. It's like a treasure search. It looks like closed ticket almost disappear.
Sometimes I need to cancel an upload file from a ticket. Why is that not possible. In order not to confuse the colleagues who are following the ticket I replace the file I want to delete with an empty file (like empty.txt).

**What problems is Assembla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned Assembla help us with employee's financial statement. Our company requires us to be precize in tracking our time over tickets created by developers or management in order not to miss ah half of an hour of work.
Ticketing system help us to make an history for evry code correction or evolution.

**What do you like best about Assembla?**

Assembla a set of default tools, a space for all your code and much more. The best part for me as a developer is inline updates for tickets and stories. 

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

When we scroll horizontally header flikers. It really irritates. and yes its downtime. I experienced it many times. the color theme is horrendous.

**Recommendations to others considering Assembla:**

Assembla is a set of tools and services developed to speed up software development and provide support for distributed agile teams. There are 2 platforms offered by Assembla to ensure that teams have the tools and the capabilities to manage, deliver, and maintain not just apps and Agile projects, but webistes too.

These 2 Assembla products are Assembla Workplaces and Assembla Portfolios. Assembla Workplaces combines various tools and build them around a team list or social activity stream. These include code repositories, management, ticketing and issue management, and collaboration.

**What do you like best about Assembla?**

I like the hooks between git messages and ticketing workflow.  I like the ease of "chatting" in a manor that is forever attached to a given ticket.

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

I dislike that "spaces" are completely separate entities.  When it comes to managing tickets, I would like to be able define an ordered lists which crosses projects.  A "high priority" item on a "low priority" project may be more or less important in the big picture.  There is currently no accounting for such.

**What problems is Assembla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The key value is simply to have a remote git location to push repos.  The ticket system is also a notable benefit, especially to prevent forgetting tasks on a to do list.

**What do you like best about Assembla?**

 like the fact that you can use Assembla as a free tool for cloud-hosted source control. You can have as many users as you need to be connected to the same server. As a paid member, I can access excellent project management tools. Both managers and developers can easily use the software as it is not complex. Reporting is also very easy. Every user is able to see what everyone else is working on. Being a cloud-based too

It has always been challenging doing projects using agile methodologies such as SRUM and Sprint, but with Assembla it is less complex. It is no longer a challenge as the

We can easily place our code for observation and monitor it for newcomers, as well as observe advanced feature creation. It is also a great integration tool for multiple and parallel coders.

As a middle-level label, nothing is disliked. Everything is good to handle for beginners and middle-level experts.

I am a UI developer, for UI purposes it is very good to manipulate code with other developers.

The ticket reports for specific Milestones of a project are great for communicating to customers where you are on a project. I also love that I can customize the ticket reports any way needed for the best communication to each individual customer.

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

When I have developers working on multiple projects at the same time, it is sometimes difficult to get a feel for exactly what they are working on each week cross-projects.

**What problems is Assembla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we have a customer who feel like they are in the dark with regards to status of their project, Assembla reports are the best way to communicate that each week.

**What do you like best about Assembla?**

Assembla has been a highly valuable service from the start. Migrating our system was painless and easy. The server has been running outstandingly well since then. Anytime I have had questions, their support staff responded very quickly and resolved my issue very quickly also. Their staff is also extremely knowledgeable and helps make you feel at ease while using their cloud services.

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

I have nothing to report on this matter as of this time.

Talk to them about their services and work with their team to find the right package for you. 

**What problems is Assembla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having version control is required for any software project. But it's useless without resiliency and peace of mind that your data will be safe and sound. Assembla solves this problem with their cloud hosting solution, which offers us incredible peace of mind. I would highly recommend anyone who needs source control, but does not need the headaches of self hosting, to contact Assembla as soon as possible.

Assembla is very useful code repository and project management tool. It has given us tremendous support and productive environment where we can customize the environment as required.

It is very difficult to find the tickets handled by a user in a financial year.

**What do you like best about Assembla?**

Ease of finding info on old jobs, and tracking communication and timing etc.
Also, love using the sub tickets as the checklist for each project to see on the side a quick view of the status of each part of the project, and love having one image shown on quick view on cardwall - great for visual people.

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

Some parts feel a bit manual, like adding time, and only accurate if staff keep it up to date but it keeps updating and getting better functionality.

**What problems is Assembla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cross-department communication is viewable to multiple people at any time - priceless.
Less internal questions as anyone can check online where something is at - don't need to keep asking.
Easy to reference back job specs last time it was done, as it's easy to search and find old information on jobs.

The best feature of Assembla is that it is very intuitive for anyone who uses it. This feature is especially useful when it is necessary to introduce new users to the use of the tiicketing tool

I don't really like the time tracking management, it could be more complete, I reccomend to enhance this feature in the future

Easy to attach files, assign people, search is good once you're used to it, colored tags, custom cardwall

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

Current Filter vs set filters is confusing; can't hide cardwall categories (like Icebox).  Webhooks are not included in my tier :(
Just like any tools it's up to the user to manage s***tons of tickets.
Don't have easy way of setting up rejected tickets with comments (tho haven't tried too hard).

Navigation on top bar is not visually pleasing - too busy.
Cannot assign one meta-task to two or more people

Assembla ticket facility, svn intigration of assmbla. The best part is we will get instant alret when ever an event happens to our ticket.

I dont like the assembla wiki feature , it should be more user friendly.

Being able to use perforce in the cloud and have all the of the server management handled by someone else helps keep us focused on developing our game and not worried about version control or backups.

So far none, it's been very solid for us.

As game dev's it's really important for us to be able to manage large binary files and perforce in the cloud is a great solution. We no longer have to worry about who is working on what and folks stomping on each others work.

Assembla combines project management, code management, issue tracking, time tracking, wiki, and other features to a level that may only be rivaled by GitHub.

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

In general nothing is polished nearly as well as competitor solutions.  Assembla's support has addressed some of the quirks for us upon request, but we don't really have time to QA their software for them by pointing out all the oddities we see.  Also, page loads can be slow...  They never take less than five seconds on one of our "spaces".

I was introduced to Assembla by a client who used it extensively. In no time me and my team got used to it. Its very easy to learn and simple to use. Its integration with git repository makes it even better suited for me and my organisation.

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

Sometime it sends you notifications from the tickets for which you used to be part of but you are no longer now. This spams the mailbox. Other than that there's nothing to dislike in Assembla.

I am using this for my ticketing system and assign them to teams. It helps me track all the activities. It is liked to git repository which helps set up any machine anywhere and maintain code base.

My team is distributed across North America, we've used Assembla's cloud hosting for perforce and git repo's for large-scale productions working with some of the biggest companies in the world.

Assembla provides us with flexibility and world-class service unparalleled in the industry. Knowing that our projects are secure and can scale to meet our clients needs makes them a make them a critical piece of our infrastructure. 

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

Their project management tools are mediocre at best, we stopped using them after a month or so. 

Their requirement that all projects are private force us to migrate code to competition if we release public code packages (which we do regularly).

For the single tenant solution, Perforce hosting speed and reliability is exceptional!

Premium support is very responsive and helpful - problems get fixed so quickly after they appear, though that is quite infrequently.

Pricing for premium services is quite reasonable - the bulk of the cost is Perforce licensing.

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

Nothing!

There is a 40 character minimum for this field so these are some extra words.

Assembla should maintain user history when even i open assembla on next day it will redirect me to the main screen and i have to find my tickets again

Assembla is powerful software for easy project management. We can manage task lists, boards, portfolios and more. Teamwork Projects has everything you need to collaborate effectively, hit deadlines, and achieve high-performance results.

**What do you like best about Assembla?**

Honestly nothing, it was a half decent tool for managing dev work. 

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

Their customer service is very terrible. No customer empathy, don't have the authority to escalate to solve problems.

They have been messing with pricing plans so much that we need to add 5 users and they only would do so if we upgraded to a plan that was 20x the price per user than we were paying. After a long battle with customer support, they added a discount to make it somewhat affordable. But still a 2.5x increase in price. We were told this discount is only valid for one year and we will jump up to the 20x price. We decided to move to Jira and in the process of asking them to cancel a majority of our services and users, they did it wrong and keep charging us the old price. They would not issue a refund. 

Don't bother with these people!

Some parts of the site are still using the 'old' version of Assembla and I hope they modernize the rest of the site soon.

**What do you like best about Assembla?**

I can't really think of anything I really like about assembla.  It is complicated to use, has the basic features that are needed, but the end result is difficult to read.  The editor doesn't provide much help.  Changes are displayed together with relevant information in a way that makes reading a simple task complicated.  It takes a long time to get used to the format, and even then, it takes too long to get the information that is relevant from a ticket.

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

As I said before, it keeps track of every change, so sometimes the change management gets in the way of a simple flow.  The display of the data is so that relevant and irrelevant information is displayed together, so it makes it really hard to follow.  It is very limited when you want to use custom fields.  Default values are ignored.  Sometimes, randomly, views revert to the default view and saved views are lost.

**Recommendations to others considering Assembla:**

I would look at other options.  Assembla has been sold and aquired several times in the last few years.  Every time this happens, promises are made (and broken).

We use Assembla to manage the development of an ERP software package.  We use it to keep track of development tasks and to track issues submitted by clients.

Assembla is an easy to use and performant Perforce Server in the cloud.  Assembla support team has been friendly and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

Assembla has a confusing web interface for administration.  It's  not obvious where to access things.

Perforce without needing an in-house admin.

Planner is really cool. Easy to create sprints and stories. Traceability is another awesome functionality of the tool.

When I have to create a new project and invite the team, feels kind of not attractive the way the have to accept the email to join the project. Would like something quicker and directly from the tool

Take under control the project evolution with specific information about the progressive effort of an activity for each area. Assembla allows to relate children ticket to father one and this really helps.

There's definitely a cost associated with the service, but it's cheaper than having someone paid to manage an on-site server.

We are too small to have dedicated IT staff, and we don't want to have to host a server here with risks of down-time.

Reliable. I've just Assembla for the best part of 10 years and I've never had any serious issues. 

Assembla is a great way one stop shop for managing a programming team: I've used it as a code repository, for buildsheets and notes in a wiki and ticket management. 

**What do you dislike about Assembla?**

Recently Assembla has been taken over, the prices have risen sharply and there has been no substantial improvement in functionality. Dollar for dollar, you're probably better of using the Atlassian stack now even with their price increases too! The backups produced can not be restored with the interface to stop you from stopping/starting your membership. 

**Recommendations to others considering Assembla:**

Seriously consider JIRA and bitbucket

I like that I can easily upload videos/screenshots, I also like that it supports multiple repositories.

I dislike managing and linking tickets, also I don't like when I remove a comment it shows that I removed a comment in the ticket, I wish it would just delete it and not say anything

I recommend using the wiki as much as you can for miscellaneous information about the project, like READMe's, usernames/passwords, and contact information for your client/developers.

It helps me convey to the developers what bugs are being presented in the software easily and I realize being able to assign tickets back to the developer keeps them organized.

The ability to set up milestones and the daily commit log are really useful for development teams. It is a nice version control and project management platform and never had any issues with the platform. Used on a daily basis at my last job working on a custom software application used in manufacturing. Has integration that are useful for issue tracking and bug reports.

User interface is kind of clunky and could use some improvement, otherwise it is a great product and I enjoyed using it.

Never used the version control features.
While there are project / sprint management features available, team never warmed to them and never actively used them.
General search capability over the ticket database could be better.
