It helps developers trace each line of code to a ticket that helps provide context for why the code is the way it is. Plus, it makes it easier for developers to keep their own tickets up-to-date. Additionally, the code review tools promote better team collaboration and better code. The integration with Jenkins helps our team automate builds and deployments. **What do you dislike about Assembla?** While the ticketing tool has improved significantly over the last year with the release of the sprint planning tools, the project management tools still lack enough reporting and functionality to fully serve a project of significant complexity. Planning releases, running reports of estimates vs actual time spent, and comparing that across multiple projects is virtually impossible except for the most clever of user. Also, the source code repos lack integrations with other software services. Using tools like Microsoft App Center or Tugboat always seem to offer connections to Bitbucket and Github...but my code is in Assembla. **Recommendations to others considering Assembla:** N/a **What problems is Assembla solving and how is that benefiting you?** Assembla helps my team write better software by providing us a simple workflow where the team can clearly see the tasks assigned to them, make the required changes to the code, and submit the code for merge request to collaborate through code review. ### 2. I've just Assembla for the best part of 10 years and I've never had any serious issues. Assembla is a great way one stop shop for managing a programming team: I've used it as a code repository, for buildsheets and notes in a wiki and ticket management. **What do you dislike about Assembla?** Recently Assembla has been taken over, the prices have risen sharply and there has been no substantial improvement in functionality. Dollar for dollar, you're probably better of using the Atlassian stack now even with their price increases too! The backups produced can not be restored with the interface to stop you from stopping/starting your membership. **Recommendations to others considering Assembla:** Seriously consider JIRA and bitbucket **What problems is Assembla solving and how is that benefiting you?** Management of programmers and projects. ### 3. Easy to customize (custom fields) Good integration with email. **What do you dislike about Assembla?** Never used the version control features. While there are project / sprint management features available, team never warmed to them and never actively used them. General search capability over the ticket database could be better. **What problems is Assembla solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ticket and workflow management. Good tracking of work. Integration with version control (GIT) so that activity in GIT is logged to the tickets using webhooks. Knowledge management (Wiki) ### 4. The filter option is used all the time. **What problems is Assembla solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ticket creation and tracking ### 5.
