Bill is billing, accounting and bookkeeping software for South African attorneys, advocates and small law firms, with an optional full service in which Bill's own team keeps the books and files the returns. Bill drafts time entries and expenses from the places the work already happens: WhatsApp messages and voice notes, Gmail and Outlook inboxes, and Google and Microsoft calendars. Fee earners approve each entry, and nothing is billed or sent to a client without their say-so. From there Bill handles clients and matters, invoices in the practice's own format, pro forma invoices, credit notes, client statements and payment tracking, and syncs invoices to Xero. The Accounting add-on brings business and trust ledgers, bank and trust reconciliation with suggested matches, trust reconciliation reports, management reports, and separate books for deceased estates, insolvencies and business rescue. With Full service, Bill's bookkeepers reconcile the books every month and a registered tax practitioner files VAT, PAYE, provisional tax, income tax and CIPC returns and facilitates the trust audit. Client data is stored in South Africa, in Google Cloud's Johannesburg region.
