For someone doing a lot of project scheduling, the Gantt view is essential, and it is not as convenient to use as Microsoft Project used to be. In particular, dependencies and start/due dates need to work more smoothly together. Moving a task forward in time does move its successors forward (if configured), but moving backwards leaves successors in place, and creates a gap that needs to be closed by manual movement.
