I started using Artlantis at 4.0, and it was great. You were able to make very realistic images, make your own materials out of images fairly easy and also import objects and materials that were available online. I disliked when the office took another license and upgraded to Artlantis 5 with no turning back... they started implementing a paid material and object STORE. Extremely expensive in my opinion and somehow the materials and objects we had in Artlantis 4 were no longer compatible... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

After designing something in other software - I use Sketchup mainly - the model is exported to artlantis; Once done that, it is very easy to edit and associate materials, lights and scenes. It is possible to get very fast renderings with good quality.

The Batch companion is very useful - You can "Render later" lots of scenes in the same time, while working on other stuff, or sleeping, without the need to hit the render button for each scene. It is kind of hard to edit the material shaders, and, if you find something wrong or have to do adjustments in the model structure, you have to do the whole export/import process between the modelling software and artlantis, though you can retain material, scenes an other stuffs settings. You can have a Architectural model from Revit or Archicad and exported to artlantis for an easy and fast improvement of your textures and lights for a future render with a 9/10 quality.
