Our experience with the Arctic Wolf Team keeps improving so I'm purely nitpicking here but they could do a better job of calling my team out on tasks in our court that we fail to accomplish in a timely manner. As our business grows and the digital landscape changes with an increase in cyber security compliance, we found ourselves lacking in a few areas. Our biggest gap being threat detection, especially outside of standard business hours. We had many tools and solutions in place but not a proper XDR/SIEM and team to run it. Arctic Wolf came in, took over and gave us an enterprise SoC at a cost that we could not internally beat. And since then, has become a vital member of our technical team. I brought Arctic Wolf into the last two companies I have worked for. The previous company had around 100 employees, and I needed help meeting PCI and SOC2 monitoring, detection, and response requirements. After reviewing the costs to accomplish those needs in-house, I started looking for partners that could fill that niche. Arctic Wolf was cost-competitive but the real selling point for me was their footprint, implementation, communication, and relationship. Arctic Wolf easily fulfilled my compliance requirements and strengthened our security presence. Any questions or requests I had were quickly responded to and addressed. I had multiple instances of moving targets in relation to PCI compliance, where Artic Wolf was able to help me identify vulnerabilities or concerns between an initial PCI scan and a re-scan. At Silk Road Medical, they also had a monitoring, detection, and response need that was too expensive to bring in-house. While my responsibilities were not security, audit, or compliance-focused at Silk Road Medical, I introduced Arctic Wolf to my peers. First of all the Arctic Wolf platform combines all our different security products into a single pane view and then aggregates all the data into a more meaningful analysis of what's going on within my network. Then, secondly the Observation Pipeline filters through the noise of a busy business network and only alerts me to those data points which really need my attention, with simple alerting rules to keep me in the loop. Finally, if something is actually happening, the containment process gives me the confidence to know that even out of hours, any issue is going to be shut down as quickly as possible. Alert fatigue can be a pain point with Artic Wolf and the number of notifications that are sent out. Mexico is a destination that is visited a lot, and we have received a lot of alerts for such. It also was a bit pricey but we have successfully worked with AWN to get a good balance of services for what we feel is a good price now. Have changed out our concierge security team a couple of times but that seems to be common with most service companies these days. Covering our bases since we are a small IT team. Our company is 24 x 7 in critical healthcare and our IT team of less than 10 can't cover round the clock security monitoring. AWN really helps narrow down the investigations we need to work on and remediate. They also give us targeted advice and monitor to see that things are fixed. Great to work with. What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf? There's a lot to do in setup and it can take months to effectively improve your security posture to something meaningful that you understand. It's not an overnight shift and it takes time. Not a fault of Arctic Wolf - it's a process that covers several layers of security across all areas of the infrastructure. Arctic Wolf is helping us educate our users with security awareness training through their managed platform, and keeping us secure by keeping an eye on the daily activates ongoing that we simply do not have the time, skillset, or resources to go through. This allows us to work on other issues that matter in our infrastructure and building it out while effectively having a 24/7 service watching our backs and pointing out threats or vulnerabilities when they come up.
