**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aneurys Nicanor A. | Project Manager, Civil Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

ArchiCAD's rendering capabilities are top-notch. The built-in CineRender engine provides realistic visualizations, and you can integrate external rendering engines for even more advanced rendering needs.

ArchiCAD offers a wide array of design tools, from conceptual design through construction documentation. The robust library of parametric objects and the ability to create custom objects make it easy to realize complex design ideas.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Although ArchiCAD offers impressive rendering capabilities, rendering times for highly detailed and realistic visualizations can be time-consuming. Streamlining this process would be advantageous for architects who need quick, high-quality renders.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Architects often face time constraints in delivering projects on schedule. An efficient design workflow is crucial to meet deadlines and maintain project quality.

ArchiCAD's user-friendly interface and extensive library of design tools, along with parametric objects and customizable components, empower architects to create and modify designs swiftly. The software also offers advanced visualization and rendering features for impressive client presentations.

The efficiency provided by ArchiCAD means architects can allocate more time to the creative and conceptual aspects of design. This leads to quicker project iterations, better client communication, and, ultimately, the ability to meet project deadlines effectively.

  ### 11. Integrated 3D Design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clint S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

From the outset, of over 25 years of use, ArchiCAD has been on the leading edge of three-dimensional design as an inherent part of its delivery. Their most significant competitor in our region was AutoCAD, and to create something three-dimensional in their program was unheard of at the time. We are steadfast in supporting Graphisoft and their production of ArchiCAD and its benefits, from three–dimensional modeling to the BimX app for clients to view the designs.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

It appears as though ArchiCAD has had some developer issues over the past four years or so. I feel like they missed the mark on the last few releases and haven't fixed some of the bugs that they should have prior to moving on to other updates.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The visualization that ArchiCAD provides to the end user, the client, is insurmountable. It really is a game changer for the client to understand what the building will look like when it's built.

  ### 12. My secret advantage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul A. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

I like being able to quickly get a 3D view of the design as it develops. There is a 3D model from the first few clicks and it evolves with the design thinking and continues as the building is built and becomes operational.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

I dislike the complexities of keeping track of the various geometric and 2D entities. For example, dimensions can disappear depending on whether the wall's core, finish or other setting. The layer setting can make it disappear. The renovation filter can make it disappear. With 2D elements, graphic overrides can make items disappear. Trouble-shooting why something that has been drawn isn't appearing on a printed drawing can be a time consuming and frustrating experience.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving a lot of detailed construction questions. Builders call with questions and taking the ArchiCAD model and grabbing a detail or section and adding annotation to create an addendum document is a quick and clear way to resolve field issues. The model has a lot of data so extracting quantities and areas to provide to vendors and builders on an as-needed basis is helpful. Basic collision detection of beams, stair headroom, overhang details avoids most structural problems early in the design phase.

  ### 13. ArchiCAD is our office core

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Integration of 2D, 3D and date to allow computer based building evolve and reflect teh physical building. Also, same modeling effort sers design, documentation and communication, letting us leverage our effort. Very easy to train new staff and use.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

No major downsides, but is still unknown by most consultants.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Architectural design problems

**Official Response from Marianne Sims:**

> We're glad to hear that you find Archicad's integration of 2D, 3D, and data beneficial for your office. We understand that its ease of use and training capabilities are important for your team's productivity.

  ### 14. Archicad user for over 30 years

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evangelo K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Archicad allows me to design, evaluate, document and manage my projects an a very intuitive manner. It alllows me to think creatively while revealing any conflicts. I love that it plays well with other applications such as Sketchup, Rhino 3D, and the Autodesk lineup.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

As time goes on with its continual development, I can't think of anything that I dislike about the app. Perhaps the only thing that comes to mind is that I would like to see the 3D engine utilize Apple's Metal as it has more future potential than using OpenGL.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Beyond 3D massing, Archicad provides tools for automated documentation including schedules, calculated area and material quantities, energy analysis and thermal bridging analysis.I also appreciate the library of inteligent objects which can be configured to represent your component exactly, whether it be a door, a window, a piece of furniture or equipment.

  ### 15. Works well for beginners and even better as knowlege grows.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

ArchiCAD has always been and continues to be the most intuative BIM platform in existence. Architects can begin to benefit from it's powerful features right out of the box and as their knwoledge grows so does the programs capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

ArchiCAD could do better on the ease of crating clear model derived sections and elevations by allowing custom visibility attributes of lines and fills within the sectiona and elevation windows. The act of creating a near perfect model, with all surfaces and elements joining correctly is time consuming. Just let me click on lines or elements to hide them.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to quickly render massing models and DD models for cleint review and feedback is key. Showing the client the idea quickly fress up valuable time in the design process.

  ### 16. Easy to use and design in 3D

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

I like the ability to design in 3D. It is also very easy to use as a presentation tool and make changes on the fly in a client meeting.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

I dislike the dimensions tool and not being able to easily adjust dimensions of objects without first finding the exact location.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easy to design anything on the fly.

**Official Response from Marianne Sims:**

> Thanks for your feedback on Archicad! We’re glad you like the 3D design features and find it great for presentations. If you have any specific suggestions for the dimensions tool, we’d love to hear them.

  ### 18. Archicad: the best software for architects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

I like that it is versatile in the sense that it allows to create floor plans, 3d views and renders all in one platform with ease. It is even easier to use than Revit or Autocad

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

I think there should be a newer version with more features and objects. The rendering components need to improve to provide more realistic views and it is tiring to have always the same objects, it should have a larger library.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps in a way to have just one software taking care of the creation of floor plans, the 3d modeling and the rendering in one single software. It is very helpful to create the floor plans and to see the 3d design already created.

  ### 19. 20 years of Archicad and 30 years of 3D

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Archicad is first and foremost a 3D program which happens to generate 2D graphics in real time. Visualizing in 3D helps everyone understand how things are really put together.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Archicad at times will start to give you something that really works, like the search function in the Archicad 26 release, but then does not carry this concept throughout the entire program.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Archicad benefits our firm in many ways. It helps us collaborate during the design process as well as efficiently produce 3D information and 2D documents which can be distributed to the team. Archicad also helps tell our design story to our clients.

  ### 20. Archicad is great overall... very powerful tool.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carl S. | Educator / Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

It's extremely powerful... you can do a lot - from presentation drawings, working drawings, rendering, etc. BIM cloud makes it very easy to work with out of the office.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Project development can be cumbersome. Specifically, with library parts like doors and windows, it's often hard and takes a lot of time to get them how you want. Our office generally wants these to be simplier, but this means working to remove a lot of detail - sills, trim, etc.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Well, it allows us to develop designs and plans for a project, which is the primary thing that we do as architects. It's flexible and allows her employees to work from home two days a week. It's very good at allowing small teams to work on complex projects without any coordination difficulties.

  ### 21. Brazilian Architect-American Designer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rejane Beçak L. | Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

All phases in one, the 2D conception plan becomes the 3D sketch for the client presentation. The design development phase becomes the construction documents and construction quantification.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

I have some difficulty creating nonstandard architectural elements.
As a foreign, it would be beneficial to have a spelling correction like in Word and Excell to help with area calculations.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can do the work of 3, creation, presentation, and construction documents. The whole process is faster, any modification is automatic, plans, sections, elevations, windows and doors schedules, and so on.

**Official Response from Marianne Sims:**

> Thanks for the review. We have a spell checker in the software. Here is the link: https://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/user-guide/89121/

  ### 22. Great capabilities, some bugs.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Naomi H. | architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

The 2D/3D hybrid drawing works remarkably well. Elevations and sections come out clean and good looking with little additional work. Models can look great too, with some work.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Mysterious bugs that pop up every now and then, that can't be explained. Sometimes solved with a re-start, sometimes quite frustrating. More stability is needed.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Archicad provides 2D documents and 3D models in one integrated package. It handles complex drawing set management with revision and issue versions. A single file can hold all the required data for even fairly dense projects.

  ### 23. Intuitive and quirky

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Intuitive layout, tools and workflow. Easy to learn for anyone already used to other CAD programs. Really shines in its simplicity of designing in both 3D and 2D allowing for accurate models and details that update automatically.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Many quirks and bugs, some of which have been present in several versions. Title texts in layouts move automatically, and simple operations seem to lag for an unreasonable amount of time on some of our computers. There are many little nuances you are required to learn to make the most out of your CAD time.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy exporting to multiple different file formats in both 3D and 2D. Importing PDF files and converting them to CAD drawings works well if the PDF was created by a modern CAD program.

  ### 24. Architect and avid user of ArchiCad

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

I like Archicad because it is more intuitive to use than most other Cad programs. Also, it has the ability to sketch, design and build a model all at the same time. You don't need other programs to do 2D drawings and color presentations.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

ArchiCad has always used many shortcuts for drawing. It seems like ArchiCad is bringing over good tools from other programs (like all are doing), but it seems to be keeping the complicated navigation from the other programs.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the early 1990s, I worked for a 100-person firm and was tasked to choose a Cad program. I chose the top 3 programs and gave each one a week to use (without instruction books). I could bearly finish a floor plan from the first. I was able to produce a simple model from the second program. The 3rd, ArchiCad was so intuitive, I was billable by Thursday of that week. Archicad allows one to still stay in the design mode (in your head) rather than thinking about design, then navigating around to find what you want to do. And it is fun to use.

  ### 25. Archicad for Architecture

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

The integration between the 3D model and 2d Documentation. Archicad has good tools to create a visually accurate and complex 3D model, eliminating the step of using third-party software for 3D design studies & presentations.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

A lot of tools seem to be artificially restricted. This requires a lot of work-arounds to achieve both 3D and 2D results. For example, many tools are locked to live on an XY plane (they cannot be rotated). Boolean objects operations are ignored on plans and will look wrong. Given the amount of tools in the software, there a some implementations that are not flexible enough (as in example 1) or are not yeilding results they should (example 2).

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Archicad is our main design & documentation tool. In an ideal world we would have an all-in-one Archictural, design, visulaization, and docuementation too. With Archicad we are close to eliminating Sketchup as our main, early design tool.

  ### 26. Good, fast, easy to use. Every year the program continue improving.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco M. | Architectural Technologist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Working on 3D, models easy to use with plans, sections, elevations and 3D views. Great visualization improvement.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

I can not have open at the same time the 3D view window and the 2D plans at the same time. BIMcloud for multiple users need to improved the release and reserve commands.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A good way to communicate ideas and designs, and presentations. Also help to develop schedules for takeoffs

  ### 27. Best BIM software for architects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared B. | Architect, Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Archicad is great to use during all phases of a project. From SD to DD to CD to CA. There's no need to start or end the project in another program. Just as important, Archicad is fun to use.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

All my complaints are minor—mostly little long-standing usability tweaks I wish Graphisoft would address.

**Recommendations to others considering Archicad:**

Try out Archicad and other BIM software. Go with the one that you like using the best. Pick the software that makes your job more enjoyable. Choose the software that allows you to focus on why you became an architect in the first place. The odds are that'll be Archicad.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All design and documentation happens within Archicad. Archicad allows me to make automated, accurate, coordindated, and beautiful documentation. The core modeling tools allow me to model anything I need to. Archicad is a fundamental aspect of my business and I always discuss the benefits of the software with prospective clients when they are looking to hire me to design their homes. I give BIMx models to all my clients and contractors. If Archicad magically disappeared tomorrow, I'd probably switch professions rather than learn a new BIM program.

  ### 28. Best BIM Software!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MacKenzie L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Archicad is intuitive, yet incredibly sophisticated. Rarely will we run up against an issue where something can't be modeled accurately - there is always a setting or feature that can be adjusted to make things look the best possible. The great customer service and updates in every version are the best in the industry.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Nothing -- even their customer service is top of the line!

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The streamlined 2D documentation as a byproduct of the 3D modeling is great. Being able to flip between the two and make changes in either 2D or 3D is so helpful.

  ### 29. Solid BIM software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will H. | Project Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

All of the templating and standards that I have built into ArchiCAD have made everything from initial schematic designs to full permit sets much easier to produce, while also adhering to my office standards.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

The software has become so dense with features, not to mention newly added features, that it is difficult to locate or even initially discover features that are available.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One ArchiCAD file for each of my projects can contain all of the critical architectural information for that project, which makes it much easier to organize, locate, and retrieve that information when needed.

  ### 30. Best CAD ever made

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

It's a comprehensive, well thougt, highly capable, stable, smart software

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Sometimes there're issues to migrate library content from one file to another and/or previous software version to newer versions

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Conceptual design, Construction detailing, graphic representation, construction data, planning

**Official Response from Maria Kalashnikova:**

  ### 31. Archicad is a very powerful tool for creating 3d buildings quickly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler E. | Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

We design log and timber homes, and modeling log walls is extremely easy in Archicad.

BIMx is also an incredibly powerful and is a very useful tool.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

The cabinets in Archicad 25 and 26 are frustrating. The knobs relocate EVERYTIME you adjust the size of the cabinets (this did not happen in previous versions).

The new options under the "Layers" box are not as easy to use in v26. You used to have "select all" and "deselect all" options, which I used ALL the time.

Also, under "Surfaces" I really like that you can start typing to find a surface, but I HATE that you cannot see all your surfaces at once. I find it slower to type because I usually only have one hand on the keyboard and one on the mouse.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Archicad is amazing at showing what a house will look like in 3d. The BIMx models are awesome and customers love them which speeds up revisions and gets projects moving from design to building.

  ### 32. The best software for architects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Archicad is the best tool for architects. The possibility of working in 2d and 3d quickly and intuitively benefits the processes of all types of companies.
The other software is not similar to Archicad because they have to complement their processes with plugins or their interface is not easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

I wouldn't say I like the differences between simple licenses and SSAs. They make you lose the possibility of using the add-ons or other functions that favor us in our work.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Archicad solves many problems in our work part, in the process it is visualized to show our clients. In the development of the project, rendering, in how easy it is to make modifications and adjustments. This reduces working time

  ### 33. Archicad works and has been for my past +10 years

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Archicad has great diversity when it comes to visuals and how to demonstrate different plans/elevations/3D diagrams for different occasions. The versatility when it comes to graphics is really phenomenal and so useful.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Unfortunately, it still has trouble producing files that other engineers can work with efficiently. It can export to CAD, but you'll have to do a bit of cleaning on Autocad before the file is user friendly

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us work together as a team easily using the Teamwork process. This tool has been dramatically beneficial as our office is split into four offices around the south Texas area, and we're able to collaborate easily and efficiently within the workflow. The option to work remotely is also a plus.

  ### 34. So nice to work in an integrated BIM environment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

ArchiCAD's Teamwork componant is critical for our office workflow and a life saver durring Covid times!

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

There elements with in ArchiCAd that I excpect to be "smart" that are not there yet, like Keynotes/detail notes/ Plan notes.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I feel like we are finaly geting to the point where we are much more efficient in our modeling and workflow, allowing us to move through deadlines more smoothly and profitably.

  ### 35. overall good software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grace Z. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

easy to learn, intuitive. online help, menu

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

unexpected presentation, some bim objects are not available,
such as single hung window, bypass door

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

3d mondel, construction package

  ### 36. Archicad

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roya T. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Archicad is easy to learn, easy to use and very powerful in functions. It is comprehensive and covers from Energy and Carbon analysis to renderings and animation.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Not much, as it is improving every year.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It covers all aspects of architectural design and construction drawings production.
It has inter-operativity, so that we can commnicate with those who use other platforms.

  ### 37. ArchiCAD review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob B. | A, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Easy to build models quickly and efficiently. Software is great so long as you accept working with consultants with recent is difficult.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Revit is more of a standard software accepted by other consultants.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Construction documents and detailing. sometimes when you zoom in the focal point will change as you zoom making it very challening to operate

  ### 38. ArchiCAD: The perfect design and production tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward W. | Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

The nice thing about ArchiCAD has always been its ability to create 3D models that effectively communicate design concepts to your clients. The bonus has been that once a design is approved, it doesn't take very much time to move onto production drawings, or sharing files with key consultants.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

I have always wanted the ability to have multiple windows open, with multiple views of a design, and have real time changes happen regardless of which window is the "active" one. For example, being able to see the results of changes in elevation views when changes are made on plan or a 3D view. ArchiCAD needs to have the views refreshed each time, and each window. Other CAD programs had this ability many years ago. Even if it was in simple wire-frame, it would be so helpful.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ArchiCAD is very helpful putting presentations together: whether it be simple design studies, or more complex renderings, this has always been a business advantage of being able to get designs communicated quickly.

  ### 39. A drafting program with drawings that are easy to beautify

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

The ability to edit 2D drawings is very robust. We have always enjoyed using the graphic overrides and 2D documents at our firm. I also appreciate the back-to-front layering of the plan and section views.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Many manufacturers do not provide models for their products that are very compatible with Archicad, which sometimes makes it difficult to represent proprietary products.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Archicad for drafting and modeling for construction, and the production of renderings for marketing packages. We also use Macintosh computers and Archicad is compatible with those systems.

  ### 40. Great 3D Design Software!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergio A. | Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Archicad is an easy to use software if you are familiar with the 3D BIM concepts. I prefer to use it above other software because it has the tools and objects for Residential and Commercial Design.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

For me, the 2D drafting tools are what I dislike most. The 2D tools are too slow compared to AutoCAD software. I can finish a complete set of 2D drawings in half the time in AutoCAD than Archicad.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The 3D presentation tools that Archicad has allows me to convey my designs more clearly to my clients. When they see a walkthrough of their house design, it helps my clients make more informed decisions faster.

  ### 41. Archicad continues to lead the industry for architectural software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Graham W. | Owner / Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

I am able to work within Archicad from start to finish on all projects. Starting at early concepts and continuing through all design and documentation phases and continuing through construction and completion phase of the project. Archicad allows me to always have a living model through phases of the project.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

For the US market there is a limited amout of region specific library resources.

**Recommendations to others considering Archicad:**

Archicad is designed by architects for architects. That is a tag line I remember from many years ago. I have always felt the UI in Archicad is powerful, visual and tailored to the way architects work. It is possible to learn Archicad and jump right into the deep end quickly. The workflow and logic in the software is powerful from early concept stages, through design, documentation, construction and beyond. Although the software isn't perfect, Archicad is very mature and powerful. The support community is open available and helpful. I feel that even though I am a long-time user of the software there are undiscovered potential workflows and solutions that I don't yet know that I need, but which I know I can find and develop when needed. Over 20+ years, I have consistently seen how Archicad allows for creative solutions within the program's logic and design. Archicad is powerful and should be considered seriously by an architect who wants to stay ahead of the technology curve.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have seen huge advantage to the accurate virtual building that can be achieved through Archicad. I love that I don't need to step down to 2D documentation and that the software is powerful and refined to provide accuracy at every level of a project.

  ### 42. ArchiCAD Review From A Veteran User

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel S. | Project Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

ArchiCAD has been extremely useful from the beginning because it models in 3D as you create.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

Although I haven't used the detailing tool to a great extent, I can see how it would be tedious to use for the kinds of details that our office generates.

**Recommendations to others considering Archicad:**

Getting started is a breeze, but customizing it to fit your firm’s standards or integrating with hand drawn staff is interesting.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is the essential CAD tool for our office, and we use nothing else except the occasional
photoshop or Twinmotion.

  ### 43. One of the most practical modeling software.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ABOUBAKAR T. | Ingénieur, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

I liked the simplicity of this modeling software. It is very easy to understand and allows for better use. The conversion to PDF is also very easy.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

It must be said that the software's internal rendering engine is not as efficient. Specific rendering software is needed to achieve an optimal result.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software solves the problem of ease of learning. It is simple to understand and very user-friendly. It does not require high performance from a computer for its use.

  ### 44. WOULD CONSIDER IT A USER FRIENDLY SOFTWARE FOR DESIGN AND PRESENTATION OF WORKS , ESPECIALLY THE UI

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian M. | ARCHITECT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

The most helpful about it is how you can view the project in both 2D & 3D, which makes it easy to adjust elevations and floor plans and the changes are instant

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

the limitation is on the libraries which are not up to date and also not able to animate and render upto detail

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

making it easier to communicate my construction drawings with the client and other contractors

  ### 45. 12 years working with BIM in Architecture, 9 years working with ArchiCAD.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric L. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Working in 3D in ArchiCAD is seamless and the various tools provide great 3D feedback while modeling which makes for a superior experience when designing.
Schematically laying out plans is fairly painless, and quick.
ArchiCAD imports and exports every file type we need, so it is easy to interact with various consultants across state lines. The Teamwork features just work without much headache, and we can host our own BIM server securely. Migrating files across versions is fairly quick, and the software has done well not to crash unexpectedly on us for many years now with Windows-based systems and file server.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

No true reflected ceiling plan view solution (the 3D documents feature is not sufficient since other plan elements are inaccessible in 3D documents).
In-place live hotlink module editing does not exist in ArchiCAD, and adds considerable time to development and changes across documentation.
Layout drawing updates can take a long time whilst navigating the layout book, especially where multiple exterior elevations may appear on one layout.
Individual surfaces on complex profiles for those tools cannot be dynamically labeled in elevations for something like material tags.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is our essential backbone tool for developing construction drawings, and 3D models for architecture. Modeling in ArchiCAD has made communicating designs to contractors and owners a breeze, which reduces our precious time during construction administration phases.

  ### 46. Archicad User for 23 Years

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos P. | Assistant Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Easy way to use the tools and how I can find eveything in a single window.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

The curtain wall tool is very limited. It is not possible to create a simple curve panel, or add the doors into the door schedule with the dimensions. Also there is no a ceiling tool or a way to translate this the a ceiling in Revit.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Is good the benefits the link with other consultants, but still very limited.

  ### 47. Super easy and intuitive and getting better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan G. | owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

Interface and ease of use. 3D Navigation is easy and intuitive. The ability to use archicad for not just traditional architecture but other businesses

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

some changes over the years that people have asked for - have taken a long time to implement. At least say you are working on it but it is taking a along time to figure out.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Different presentation options, importing 3d xyz files from scans, sharing files, ifc export, bimx, collaboration options.

I was not able to upload the screenshot. Your system said to come back later and try again. to prove usage - here is my lic #2-2818390

  ### 48. ArchiCAD is the best program for architects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Drew T. | Senior Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

ArchiCAD is excellent at design, documentation and interfacing with other rendering software

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

The one thing about our kid that could be better. Is keynoting, and documentation

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Arctic cat is the best program for solving complicated roofs and design in complex 3-D structures. This allows me to work with some of the top clients out there and produce quality work that will stand the test of time.

  ### 49. Archicad recommandation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin B. | Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

EASY TO USE AND to NAVIGATE, compatible with other software

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

nothing yet as far as I can tell; after using for 10 + years

**Recommendations to others considering Archicad:**

I would advise anyone in the Architectural, Interior Design and Construction Industry to give a try to ArchiCAD. I am almost sure you will love it and will never let it go as I did.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Drafting plans and collaborating w/ other CAD users

  ### 50. ArchiCAD is relatively intuitive to use for architectural drafting and modeling.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan W. | Architect In Training, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Archicad?**

I most enjoy the intuitive interface for drawing/ creating drawings. It's incredibly helpful to complete multiple drawings at the same time. Interface is easier to learn than Revit.

**What do you dislike about Archicad?**

The most challenging element to draw is the fireplace. It's nearly impossible to draw it in 3d and have it look correct in 2-dimensional drawings. (Plan, section.) It would also be beneficial to be able to open files read-only for reference while others are working on a project and refrain from saving accidental changes.

**What problems is Archicad solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multitasking, creating a 3-dimensional model for clients to understand and clean 2-dimensional drawings for contractors to assemble it.
