ArcGIS Online is a cloud-based mapping and analysis software. It's great at analyzing map data, which you can import or export, and it offers its own Esri-curated content. ArcGIS is the industry standard and you won't find another product like it. The Online version is good for entry-level users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about ArcGIS Online? ArcGIS Online isn't as powerful as ArcGIS Pro. It's also not great at quickly updating its layers. For example: if I import data and run analysis on it, but want to change one entry in the data, I need to delete the layer, make the change in Excel, import the new data, and rerun the analysis. The ArcGIS Online platform is incredibly easy to pick up and play with. This is coming from someone with little to no formal GIS experience. I was able to load in layers from the organization and get down to some simple analyses and geospatial information right out of the gate. This is such a great advancement for the average user. It can be a make or break kind of thing with this platform. I personally don't like it. It is easy to accidentally use them all up. ArcGIS Online is evolving still quite a lot which is a good thing, but also hard to keep up and not everything what is normally available in Enterprise is yet there in Online. What do you dislike about ArcGIS Online? It is hard to track the connections between the app, corresponding web map, and the MXDs or Pro project that helped to create it. It would be helpful to be able to see how the web maps are linked to different applications so you have a better understanding of what you are ultimately affecting with edits.
