It is easy to learn, I have never had any formal training in GIS and it was easy to pick up, there are plenty of YouTube support videos, the options in ArcGIS are easy to use, the GIS online website has a good number of layers that work with the datasets that we use. **What do you dislike about ArcGIS Enterprise?** Perhaps some advanced GIS exercises would be nice for people who want to self-learn GIS and for complimentary support. I had problems at some point using ArcGIS and there wasn't enough customer support and the company tried to charge me money to get the original license holders to purchase this option. **Recommendations to others considering ArcGIS Enterprise:** I think that ArcGIS could be improved if it can be developed to have the same kinds of options as Tableau and to display information on websites. **What problems is ArcGIS Enterprise solving and how is that benefiting you?** We would like ArcGIS to be more like Tableau in the sense that we can display information live online as it is being fed into online databases. We would like to have this information present on websites where researchers and the end user can interact with the datasets. ### 2. Once setup, quick to develop and dliver content to users **What do you dislike about ArcGIS Enterprise?** The iniitial setup and configuration was a pain, we outsouced to Esri AU and will do the same for upgrading from 10.4.1 to 10.6.1 when available. Speed of patches for key issues, particular relating to browser compatibility was slow, would be great to have atches for this things available on relase of browser udpates. **What problems is ArcGIS Enterprise solving and how is that benefiting you?** My favourite one is soatial enablement, using Enterprise to bring GIS, in particular spatial data to the entire organizstion regardless of their discipline or area of expertise. ### 3. You can use code, or the out of the box GUI to provide stunning interactive visualizations. And it all sits in your own environment where you can control security and access. **What do you dislike about ArcGIS Enterprise?** If you install it in a custom environment with other applications, it is difficult to get to work properly and needs a lot of troubleshooting. There is very little support for linux based environments. And the code is obscured. It would be a huge blessing to the entire GIS community (and a huge blow to Esri competitors such as Mapbox) if Esri started to opensource more of its code. **What problems is ArcGIS Enterprise solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are leveraging ArcGIS Enterprise to provide interactive visualizations that we can share with clients who are concerned about where there data is stored. ### 4. THis allows for better security practices and more control over the entire system. **What do you dislike about ArcGIS Enterprise?** The only complaint that I have is that with the ArcGIS Enterprise is based on releases so new functionality compared to ArcGIS Online is not immediately available. **Recommendations to others considering ArcGIS Enterprise:** 100% recommend using ArcGIS Enterprise if you have the hardware to support it. If not use ArcGIS Online. **What problems is ArcGIS Enterprise solving and how is that benefiting you?** We utilize ArcGIS Enterprise as our stand alone mapping platform we use for situational awareness and event planning. ### 5. We were able to use enterprise to find a $150,000 savings by not sending mailings to a certain set of prospects. ### 6. It is scalable to meet your growing needs. **What do you dislike about ArcGIS Enterprise?** I don't really dislike anything, but is takes a lot to maintain it and you need to focus on it. There are great tools for miantaining it and for upgrades. **Recommendations to others considering ArcGIS Enterprise:** Use Chef to deploy! **What problems is ArcGIS Enterprise solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to take work out inthe field and having the field worker maintain the data insread of the office worker. ### 7. Benefits are that users get to use their regular work account that they use across all platforms. ### 8. It works well as a spatial data warehousing option that centralizes all of our organization's data and makes it simple to pull information as necessary for analytics. **What do you dislike about ArcGIS Enterprise?** There isn't anything that is disliked - it works for what we need. **What problems is ArcGIS Enterprise solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using ArcGIS Enterprise has helped solve planning-related problems in our division (Solid Waste) that never before considered the utilization of GIS software and solutions in the past.
